I actually have a pair of momotaros, and would absolutely be into this, especially since collabs are really big in the raw denim world, but it's a little on the pricey side imo.
@@michaelriera6277 For me, it's not just the pairing.....the watch all by itself is not successful. I love the original and the bronze bezel, black dial gilt versions. This one hurts my eyes.
I recently got into watches just after I got into high end crafted jeans. This is the perfect marriage of those two worlds. I was even thinking about hemming some raw Japanese slubby denim and getting glove leather and making my own watch strap for a field watch so now I have things to think about
I can’t believe you flipped your bronze bezel 65! I thought you had your heart set with that one. You’ve done the 65’s, the big crown pointer dates - just continue working through the rest of the Oris collection!
I just got the 1917 Big Crown and lurrrrv it. Have fallen for this one.... Want a 65 also though, like the no date option but not this particular combo...
hey jody. discovered this channel at the start of lockdown binged all your vids. bought a few watches in a very short space of time some of them reviewed by yourself. sweet channel keep up the solid work.
Another great video! thank you for sharing. I purchased this watch today simply because it checked off a couple boxes for me, love the unique green dial. As far as the connection with Momotaro jeans goes -- I couldn't care less! Going to put this on some sort of sailcloth strap and hopefully I'll be able to enjoy it for a while before it gets the chop. Thanks again for the great videos.
Hi Jody, I love the Oris 65, a gorgeous watch and a true masterpiece. Not even this jeans strap manages to spoil it. Although I reckon not a few of them will end up being worn on a different strap, maybe a tropic.
I've had a look and I love the dial but the jeans strap is not for me either, like you said wouldn't be a Momotaro special without but would love to get this on another strap option
I don't know I really want an Oris Big crown pointer. Allot less money I think? Don't know too much about Oris. All of their stuff is out of my range but I saw a big crown pointer and I lust after it now.😅
Dunno why the Oris has never appealed to me - even though one of my daily wears is the Christopher Ward C65 Diver which is similar (& I'm a fan of the Denim Railmaster)....cant put my finger on why I don't like them, just not for me. Cheers 👍🏻
Woah thats the way go, magnificent piece you got there my friend, Oris is being is my radar for while, hopefully you decide to keep it my friend 👍🏼👍🏼..
Jody!!!! Tried on an Oris 65!!!!! Thought I was destined for one of these!! But!!!! The bezel Jody?! The Bezel?! The bezel!!!!! Worst action ever!!! So loose and cheap feeling!!!! Left me sad ! Won’t be in my collection . However I did try on your Pointer Date Bronze and loved it!!!!!
I wouldn't pay that much but....that dial is awesome!!! You should purchase that watch and KEEP it! I just bought an older orange dialed Oris and that, too, is awesome. Enjoyed the video. I'd put a different strap on that watch for sure.
love Oris, a hugely underrated brand just not sure this is a special edition that will endure. Knowing what a huge Star Wars fan surprised you haven't acquired an Aquis Stormtrooper - now that is an amazing special edition. Love all of your videos, have kept me entertained on weekly basis, keep them coming
Along a similar lines, there is the Omega Railmaster In Blue Denim. This Omega does not seem to sell very well as it is being offered at a ridiculous discount at my local AD. I think it is gorgeous, though and I would buy it in a heartbeat if I could afford just one more watch. 😀
I don't really like colour of the dial if I'm honest. I know you can have an Aquis in the same colour but I just don't care for it. Have you given up on the 65 or are you going to try all the variants until you find one you can't part with?? Great vid as usual.
Hi Jody! Do you know how to purchase a tropic strap from Oris? I was looking for one for my 65 and I haven’t been able to find anyone selling a 21mm tropic strap.
Just bought a Christopher Ward trident 🔱 vintage diver it looks very similar to the Oris but is manual wind the Oris is nice especially the face colour
Your video on the original Oris 65 a few years ago got me into luxury watches. Still think the 65 has the best dimensions of any watch I've tried but, wish the power reserve was a bit more.
One major criticism, they should match the indices Lume with the hands. Still a slight discoloration to noticed and if matching it will enhance the indices to glow longer period.
Love your reviews. Any way you could review the JLC sector dial. I think it only came out in 2017. Want to buy for husband and can’t find a lot of reviews of it. What a beautiful watch.
Thanks Jody for another good review. I do like the watch with a clean face (no date) and double dome sapphire crystal. Other people claimed it is an ugly watch but I guess people's tastes are not the same. I think the watch is pretty handsome and certainly don't mind to have one. Thing is with $2200 USD, it is a bit pricey.
There was a song back in the last century that sparked a memory for this watch, "The Monks - Nice Legs Shame About Her Face" You'll need to google it. Denim. But its the reverse for me on this watch. Nice face, shame about the legs.
Despite your flip-flop stance towards the Oris 65 (I insert a snicker here; if you buy this edition, I am sure you'll flip it in a couple of months for another new edition :)), you've described the one over-riding reason why this watch will always remain a fan favorite: they are a joy to wear on the wrist (especially the 40mms).
Post tax return I've been contemplating my next Oris, but was undecided as to Aquis or 65. I love the Momotaro's dial colour, and the bezel, but in the light, there is not enough contrast between the hand set and the mint green. Great review, thanks for the decision help.
I have both Aquis green and 65 momotaro. The mint green reflects the yellow hands very nice makes this watch look vintage and “ORIS” is hidden perfectly.
You like the all bronze one mate? I reviewed the bicolour and that was already too much bronze for me. I'll be looking for another bronze bezel...... Maybe green dial next time? Cheers!
Just One More Watch I'm a fan of bronze watches in general, I like how they patina, and how they remind of those huge propellers on those ships. It's like they were built for the sea or something. Would absolutely get the Tudor BB Bronze if it weren't so damn big. I understand it's not for everyone tho, bronze isn't much of a desirable metal. Yes sir I saw your review on the bicolor one, spot on!
Hey Jody, great video, but couple of important notes - this is NOT the latest limited edition Oris, there is a new reef one. And also this was very limited when it come out (like half a year ago) so it was almost impossible to find on the launch, and extremely unlikely to be found today.
Hi Jody! Entertaining and informative as always, thank you. That watch and price is ugly enough to make a freight train take a dirt road. What I really love though is your T- shirt! -Brian in Medford Oregon, just a notch above California. 😉
Love the dial color. Pity about the rest of it. I’d bin the strap, wish for less fauxtina on the indices, and fit a stainless bezel. But that would be a rather silly thing to do.
Hey Jody, greetings from South Africa! Just wanted to know if you've ever seen the Seiko SNXJ89 (Seikos homage to the Datejust) and if so, what your thoughts on it are. Ps. Love your videos!
Nice, but I think they might have done better to use a gold or copper (or even the light green of the dial) like thread for the contrast stitching on the denim strap. They have it on the packaging. It's a somewhat common combination seen on denim pants and I think it would tie the watch head to the strap better. As it is, there is no color combination that ties the strap to the base.. other than the silver or white.l and black colors? Idk, I think a gold or copper or light green thread stitching would have been better. If I'm knit picking, it seems like the watch head is paired with a strap from another brand and just labeled it a special edition. Not much to complain or rave about on this one.. it's another Oris 65 and you generally can't do to wrong with one either way.
Another great vid Jody! Please please review the steeldive SD1975 'tuna'. It looks like a great watch, and by the sounds of it, lives up to that expectation. BUT I need your seal of approval before buying any new chinese/microbrand watch :-D Keeps up the great work!
False advertising? Those jeans are so expensive, if you can afford them you are already lucky🤣
I actually have a pair of momotaros, and would absolutely be into this, especially since collabs are really big in the raw denim world, but it's a little on the pricey side imo.
I guess you are the target market! Yeah, a discount on this would definitely help. Cheers mate.
Not that I have the money for ANY Oris, but this one has reeeaaally caught my eye since it was announced. I think it’s just gorgeous 😍
That band looks like it belongs on a Disney character themed kid's watch.
Still, this 42 year old kid would wear it without hesitation!
I'm genuinely starting to find you the best and most fun horology RUclipsr to watch!
Finally a watch i don't wanna buy.
Mate, I just saved you a ton of money! No need to thank me.
Guess I'm an outlier here but that is seriously ugly. I just don't see any of it working together aesthetically.
I agree. It has a "potluck" look to it. A weird mix for sure.
Very odd pairing
@@michaelriera6277 For me, it's not just the pairing.....the watch all by itself is not successful. I love the original and the bronze bezel, black dial gilt versions. This one hurts my eyes.

Perfect watch if you’re planning to wear flares platform shoes, and wearing your shirt open to the waist. One for The Bee Gees fans.
The Oris 65 is retro afterall
I didn’t think I would like the green dial with blue denim , but after watching I changed my mind . Thanks Jody

That hour hand just looks too much like a willy from some angles in that colour especially. Not one for me.
hey jody. discovered this channel at the start of lockdown binged all your vids. bought a few watches in a very short space of time some of them reviewed by yourself. sweet channel keep up the solid work.
Lovely dial, would suit a vintage style bracelet... Just not feeling the denim strap.
Being an Oris fan, this is a wonderful product. On my wishlist for sure. Thx for this review !

Finally more no date window watches. I never use the complication like who doesn't know what day it is 😂

A bit niche, this one!

Do their jeans come with those torn knees ?

I could wear that occasionally. But everyday?

This seems to be the kind of Oris you buy when you already own a couple of ‚basic‘ ones, it’s not the one I’d pick as my only Oris.
Nice watch but if you are after a Swiss watch with a denim strap I would go for the Omega Railmaster denim
20 variants to go Oris, I believe in you.
So is there market in Asia? Because it doesnt interest me but I am sure the Japanese love it!!
