I love Canada. I'll be up there in Montreal soon- heaven on earth. Fight to keep it free and always believe in yourselves. You're the best. Love from America, Ben
I have had the pleasure of attending events at the Ontario Regiment Museum in Oshawa Ontario. Seeing the Leoprad 1A5 there impressed this civie. Now the 2A6M? Wow. So glad this great 'kit' has found its way to our forces. Thanks for this info video. Much appreciated.
what you wanna say with these command? name me one tank who can beat a Normal Bundeswehr Leopard 2 Group down? I dont know one.. maybe some T-90's but only if they got good soldiers on it, but no matter what tank, if u got bad commerades in the tank you wont have a chance against any tank.
@ItzNeXuZ questionable, from a technically standpoint, maybe. From a userfriendlyness one, maybe. The Americans had the most reliable one with the Sherman and the soviets had there T-34, which has a wide range of quality. On some you could litterly put a hand i between the armoure plates. The German tanks where pretty much high quality tank based on proven technology which was used to the point it couldn't withstand the roughness of the battelfield. Beautiful to look at, ugly to use, overpowered in a 1v1 situation I would say.
@@Tankliker I ended up leaving before basic was finished. I was misinformed about a lot of things, conflicting info from recruitment office and the actual role.
@@Dreadnaught396 OK, I hoped to hear a nice story that you became an tank commander already or things like that. But I won't say you failed or anything. Military is a hard field and if everybody could join then it wouldn't be was it is, even if it means that you didn't lasted there.

Canada has bought 100 of these tanks from the Dutch surplus and 20 on contract from Germany. I think that some of the 100 are older models but will in time be upgraded to the 2A6M. Finaly the Canadian DOD has made the right choice in getting the Leopard 2A6M as it is the best tank in the world! I would like to see Canada have 200 of these bad boys!
@gajustempus no sir you´re wrong the lmg are made by heckler&koch and the cannon is made by Rheinmetall in germany! the us army is buying this cannon from germany and not the german from an us company
Do not forget that the Leopard 2 A7/A7+ (difference is the gun, A7 has the Rheinmetall 120mm L/55, A7+ has the Rheinmetall 120mm L/44) is a specialized version for the uraban warfare ;)
they managed to fit in a clima control. nobody thought about it before. in germany its usually cold not hot^^ and the canadiens just bought and rented dutch and german tanks so they needed to first buy all and than upgrade them.
@Battery9876 Its almost the same as the M829A3 but we use the DM63 with tungsten. Yes the new Leopard has also the ability of firing controlled guided rounds and also LAHAT missiles.
Münster actually is a university city. Munster on the other hand is home of one of the largest garrisons of the Bundeswehr. The ü/u makes the difference.
Ah. please don't do these blanket statements ^^ We had out fair share of DUDs here, and the Soviet union Did roll out the best tank of WW2 and continued to make more excellent designs - there is a reason why the worls is filled with t55's, t72's and all the evolutions of these tanks. That said: The Leopard2 is our crown jewel :) And it is awesome.
@Drummen4tw: What? The M256 is made by Watervliet Arsenal, a US-Company. It's identical to the german Rheinmetall L/44. The US just bought the license, that they are allowed to produce this Gun too.
Canada, I apologize for the shit you had to go through because of us...twice... i'm glad we're friends today. The fact that you rather buy our tanks is adorable, merci very much!😘
I read a couple of months ago that the Germans will travel and upgrade the optics system on the Canadian Leopard 2 tank. Do us a favour Germany and give our army the Leopard 2 Next Generation Tank.
Na, the A6 is based on A5 and the Leo. 2 Revolution/Evolution is based on the A4, which has a bit worse armoure and the aiming devices are beside the and not on top like on the Leo. 2A6/A6/Later So the best idea would be to take the Revolution/Evolution composite armoure and make it even better by covering the whole left cheek.
At 8m37 he says the best piece of kit in his 20 year career and he looks not even be 20 years old. Seems the canadian army has at last found the fountain of youth.
No way the abram is pretty much outdated by now, the leopard, the K2 hell maybe even the T90 are becoming superior. Canada is doing good going with the leopards.
Canada paid $650 Million for the upgraded Leopards. That price will likely double as most do. Nobody gives away armed weapons it is the largest industry in the world.
all french Canadians speech english, contrary to what they might try to portray, not all english Canadians speak french. So english is always the default.
@101andrewj That was then and this is now. The Americans also invaded Canada during the war of 1812, but we got over it and became allies. NATO had no choice but to allow the Germans into the fold if we wanted a credible deterrent to Warsaw Pact forces.
Indeed as a German I can tell you seriously: We Germans love Canada and the Canadians.
yep
Fengris How about the Danes? lol we got them too
Thank you, Germany; all of us in Canada appreciate such an awesome tank. :D
And we Americans don't >:(
EDF Ranger l2tank
Alexander Surname Er I mean we don't have it and were just jealous woops.
EDF Ranger but the Abrams have a German gun a 120 Rheinmetallborsig L/44
Merdarion GER Just not the same design, speed or tank in general, though it is nice that we both have the same cannon then
Greetings to Canada from Berlin! Thank you for your service!

I like canadians , theyr good soldieres and the best thing about them they left germany first because they knew theyr job was done
Thank you so much Canada for purchasing this tank. I wish you best of luck with this new weapon. May it always protect you.

I start my training for Armoured Soldier in August. Really excited and hope I get to use one of these beasts.

1:24 so cool when all the bullets bounce off the target! :D
The base at Muster was great, but our mess halls in(that were in) Lahr were better....and we had the CC club....Germany was a great overseas posting.
So glad we finaly desided to retire the leopard one and get the 2
Can't wait for my course to start so i can be trained on this beast.
This Tank beats all!

MUNSTER the place in Germany to learn real Tank-Skills
I'm sure the Leopards were acquired from the Netherlands!
Its a "large kitty"! Meow
CANADIANS HAVE TANKS???? wohh thats crazy i never knew we had tanks (coming from a canadian)

It is based upon the L44 Rheinmettal so they can share the same ammo, but the M256 is a big improvement.
i am from germany and we love Canada
we love canada to, more than the states!
@takko091 Yeah so? The A6 is still a top class tank
Laughs in Challenger 2 which is covered in Burlington LV2 armour, even the M1A1 doesn't have the level of protection..
@Drummen4tw: What? The M256 is made by Watervliet Arsenal, a US-Company. It's identical to the german Rheinmetall L/44. The US just bought the license, that they are allowed to produce this Gun too.
The Abrams uses an American made L44 120mm gun. The Leo uses a Rheinmetall L55.
Best Tank in the World..... Germany rules !
@halflife103 Srry but the old poor equipment is wrong. This video is a good example of high tech equipment

The Leo 2A6M has to be a Premium tank in WoT XD
Damn Leopard 2A6M... you scary
leopard motor can drive with everything. Old motor oil or airplane gasoline ... very important in a war
Target system very well ...
well you need a team of engineers to convert the damm engine but other then that. yeah pretty good
Canada, I apologize for the shit you had to go through because of us...twice... i'm glad we're friends today. The fact that you rather buy our tanks is adorable, merci very much!😘
Canada (and many other countries) have been using them since the 70s and 80s though...

Lol that LT in the very beginning is so damn funny! Typical LT's always saying "UHM"
At 8m37 he says the best piece of kit in his 20 year career and he looks not even be 20 years old. Seems the canadian army has at last found the fountain of youth.
Armored Warfare has this tank as a tier 10...pretty sweet tank there too
@Captatiobenevolenti ? there is a leopard 3 ? or do you mean the A7?
No way the abram is pretty much outdated by now, the leopard, the K2 hell maybe even the T90 are becoming superior. Canada is doing good going with the leopards.
@Corporationevil FALSE these tanks are not RENTED they are purchased...they are now Canadian tanks permanently.
@Espere312 in dem Beitrag, welchen ich kommentierte, hieß es, dass die Bundeswehr die Panzer verkauft.
German engineering. Good thing we bought the best.
@101andrewj no, the german army is supporting canada by selling them the best equipment available
Canada paid $650 Million for the upgraded Leopards. That price will likely double as most do. Nobody gives away armed weapons it is the largest industry in the world.
Beser Tank of la monde!!
in Munster fliegen die Bomben und in Münster die Studenten auf dem Fahrrad XD
Great at 56 seconds the Americans are going to think we rented some muzzle loader tanks.
Would be quite a sight XD a muzzle loaded 60T MBT :D

whatever happend to the M1 Abrams?
i like that
Why do they still have those german cross on the side and not our insigna?
Geeerrrrrman steeeeeel
Good Guy Germans
No the russian would nerf it down to be worse then the IS series. Thats why they won't bring the Leopard 1 as the mentioned.
@Mitouboxer117 You may of heard of him...WINSTON CHURCHILL!! He was in the British Office during WW2. Lol
and to think we almost ditched our tanks for the M1128 Mobile Gun System...
god the guy at the starts speaks like such a main lander -.-
i bet you he says "aboot" and pronounces Newfoundland like "newfoundlin eh?"
TAKE OFF HOSER!!
@Espere312 not our army, just a couple of companys
kAnada has an army?

hmmm i dont want make trouble here but i think germany got the best technology and soldiers too.
@ludabaer I thought Canada was the beer drinkers?
@F1zzzy90 well you will be happy that its is a combined french english where if they talk french english subtitles and vice versa
True.
As if having an upgraded tank is what it is going to take to deal with the situation in Afghanistan (a place we have no business being in anyway).
Nope...the M1 uses the /L44 and the Leo2A6 uses the longer /L55
ceemosp hey I saw the comment I think you meant to reply too if I'm right you do know you can reply directly
Living in the west coast of Canada, I never notice that accent...

the Germans have always built the best tanks, they say the 2A7 is the best MBT in the world at present.
2A7+
@Mitouboxer117 I totally agree with you
Oh, boy. German Engineering.
Has any one else noticed that the Canadian soldiers in these videos all have strong East Coast accents?
