The Last Roar: Subaru WRX STI's Final Bow | Is this the BEST STI of all?

  • In this episode, Dylan shows us around the 50 NICE STI. Long term viewers of the show will remember that our first experience at roll racing, was with Dylan in his STI. The car was an absolute beast and performed quite well, given the competition.
    Here, Dylan returns to the channel for a full feature video, detailing all the mods that make his STI so special. Its one of the most famous STI's on social media, and for good reason. It sounds amazing. The blouch turbo with the T51R mod, sounds amazing when combined with his full exhaust system.
    This is the last WRX STI. At least, according to subaru. Or, at the very least, the last STI with (only) a combustion engine, before Subaru start releasing hybrid power trains for their sports cars. Though it is sad to see the Subaru WRX STI disappear into the horizon, it is nice to see that Dylan still drives his car hard, the way it was designed to be driven.
    The Subaru EJ motors in their WRX and STI's have built up a massive reputation for being unreliable since the 90's. HeAdGaSkEt is always the running meme/joke. Weak pistons, weak rods, open decks, the list goes on and on. Somehow, Dylan's STI is pushing 278 kW at all four wheels (almost 400 HP) on a STOCK MOTOR... it baffles me. He probably has the strongest stock EJ25 engine to have rolled out of the Subaru factory.
    The VA STI is the final editino or installment of subaru's legacy, after ditching the impreza platform in 2014. The subaru racing heritage still lives on, however, with the new VB WRX now participating in rally.
    Thanks to Dylan for coming onto the channel and for his continual support from when I had less than 100 subscribers. Massive thanks for trusting me with the car.
    Please consider subscribing.

    I would argue the best STI was the Hatch 2011-14 models. I had a VA and all tho it felt special due to its transmission, diffs, and amazing steering rack. It just didn’t feel that consistent with the motor. You can tell the UEL headers hurt performance and the car struggled to rev with ease. My VB revs way better and it drives way better in terms of engine. Now all I need is the STI tranny, diffs, and brakes to have a complete package

    • @MrDuongTV1
      @MrDuongTV1  Месяц назад +1

      I think that the hatch is the best looking STI? But as a package, with the drive train, brakes and all, the VA STI i think is better.
      I love the FA motors, and I love how the VB drives too. I do agree that an STI drive train with make the VB infinitely better 🤌

Ranging from cooling issues and gears ⚙️ breaking etc. now we aren’t competing anymore, but one of the teams im in contact with is doing extremely well in …. Guess what ? Yes ! And they where first come first serve with no announcement.
    so they are ultra rare and undocumented so even ahrder than hen's teeth to find.
    they came factory with every option and tuned for maximum from factory pushign 400 crank hp 340-360hp wheel maxing stock vf48 @21.5 psi with no room for more.

    Good luck to him. Our STI engine gave up the ghost at 69,000 miles. 9,000 over warranty. It was not modified and driven by mature adults. Subaru did offer to put the same junk block back in for only $7000. We told them where to go and that we are going to join the lawsuits against them. It truly is the most unreliable vehicle I've ever owned in my 53 years. From the throwout bearing going bad at 3,000 miles, seat stitching separating, creaking dash and rear deck, steering rack leaking at 50k, and PVC system puking oil, to now a dead cylinder 2, I've had more than enough with this junk brand. Subaru is off our list forever. We thought about putting a built block in it, but we can't be seen as supporters of the brand. It's too bad, because my wife is a "gas and manual" driver for life. Her mom and sister all drive sticks too. We're looking at the Interga Type S and the Corolla GR now.
