My favourite quote on this topic is from Zumikito: "If you try only basic techniques, you will get only basic results." Great job as usual, Juan. ;-)
Thanks and great quote
After watching around 20 videos on liquid glass effects, this is no doubt, the best one mate. Definitely subscribing! Looking forward to checking out some more of your videos! 😄

Wow! Now that's impressive, I was already sold on the effect about halfway through the video. I've got a mini with a wizard whose staff has a glass ball at the top and up til now have been avoiding tackling it. Thanks for this vid, for as advanced as the technique is, you have made it very encouraging and informative and reinforces the message I get from your tutorials about how light interacts with shapes and materials. Cheers!
Happy to help
YOU CAN DO IT!
HI JUAN ❤❤❤
😘
Really appreciating these more indepth and specific techniques you are demonstrating, its surprisingly difficult to find high quality stuff like this on youtube
Happy to help.
There is a very good reason why that is, it's because these videos perform REALLY bad, this is so far my worst performing video. Go figure. I don't care about those things but it's sad
Ah shame, well hopefully it makes you feel better to know people like me always share your technical vids to other people wanting to learn@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures
As usual, your tutorial makes it very clear.
Nice one, Juan.
Happy to help
Incredible tutorial and paint job! Hats off to my favourite mini painting youtuber!
Absolute legend. Every time I see someone upset that their contrast painted marines look like crap, I send them here, too begin learning from the master

Thank you, this is a technique I’ve been attempting recently, your video is by far the best explanation I’ve seen
Happy to help
Awesome video as usual Juan. The tutorial is indeed quite difficult and atm I don’t feel confident I can go for it but it gives me a target and push me to improve to the point I’ll try this one too! Thank you for another great video!
Thanks!
Amazing work as always Juan! I loved your analogy in the introduction "If you never try the things you consider impossible, you'll never achieve them." Very upfront and honest words I think we all need a good reminding of now and again! :) Keep up the fantastic work and thank you again for another awesome video! :D
Thanks 😘
This was fantastic to watch it strikes me those who understand doing NMM will be able to apply this painting method easily
Indeed, the principle is the same
This is perfect for me. I've had a Fabius Bile model sitting on my shelf for a while now with no idea on how to best approach the vials on his backpack. This might be a perfect trick for those. Gonna experiment with the colours a bit though. Red or blue liquids could be cool I think.
Awesome
The final highlights really set it off, fantastic!
Thanks
This is so therapeutic
Happy to help
Very nice, the steps are concise and informative
Excellent job
Thanks
cool vid I've just done something similar on one of my deathguard so I've just used a couple of bits from your vid to finish mine oiff and it dose look more convincing now thanks so much for this :)
Happy to help!!
I'm definitely not at your level with painting yet, working towards it, but have you also tried adding Ardcoat over it after you've painted glass or gems to how you like it? It gives it even more of a glassy look for gems so I wonder about work like that you just did in the video or do you think that it will make it appear one dimensional?
No, that will just make another reflection on top of what I've painted creating a mess. You either paint the effect on or use Varnish but not both.
Same for gems BTW, I never use gloss varnish
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures thanks for the advice and looking forward to your next Lion video!
@michaelneumiller2448 there are no more lion videos sorry
Thanks JH for this video. I think I’m gonna try to paint all the base colours and mid tones in my next bottle/liquid with some minor highlights and apply gloss varnish. I think it would look good alongside TMM
That's another option that also works well for a less showcase look
Great video as always.
Thanks!
What timing! I have a project where I'll be trying to attempt this.
Happy to help
I tried something like this a little while ago it's definitely not simple but it was a fun learning experience. It's good to see I was on the right track
I was wondering if for this technique, is it easier to start with a bright color or would you recommend something like the layer method (dark color, lighter color lightest color) or does that method make it more of a challenge?
I always prefer to start with a midtone, as I have done here
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures thank you very much, I'm going to try this out when I get the chance.
That easy great. As always,
I'm a better painter, after watching your channel. Thank you.
Wondering how would you add a glow effect to this technique? Like the liquid inside is glowing.
Gracias guapo 😘

Thank you for this video! Its perfect for what i want to do. I'm hoping to practice this on a mushroom mage (from zabaart) that is holding.a bottle. Let's see if it can be possible for me to do it :D
great job!
Thanks
Magistral!
Gracias
very helpful tutorial! where did you get the Plague Knight mini you were painting?
It's a normal Stormcast Evocator with lots of work
This stormcast evocator looks like hours or work. Well done!! Do you happen to have a video/livestream on your patreon?
Are your livestreams saved anywhere? :x
No this was done without recording, except for the hood which you can see in my How to Sculpt - Hoods video
I don't have content locked behind paywalls, but you can see some of my Livestreams here and others in my Twitch, in the VOD section

amazing
Thanks
What brush size is it you are mainly using? In most videos I would guess its a 2 or 1?
Rosemary and Co series 33 size 3
Cut off plstic bottle…
Make clear resin drops from uv resin…
Glue clear resin drops in place of plastic bottle…
Actual clear plastic bottle hack 😉👌🍻
Fantastic life hack!
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures I think two drops set on a silicon sheet glued together should make a nice round bottle (each drop being half a sphere) 😉 u could even colour one half with a suitable ink to make the liquid inside 🍻
Hello juan

What miniature is this?
It's a Stormcast Evocator and lots of work
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures thanks
there are shovel knight mini's
There are if you make them yourself yes
Oh you made those yourself?
Partly, the base are all Stormcast Eternals from GW and lots of sculpting
@@JuanHidalgoMiniaturesoh sick, i thought you 3d printed them
they'd be great models to seel if your are able to 3d scan them
I don't have that intention but if I ever do I will let you know
