More than anything, I appreciate how damn mature the anime is; it's a truckload of nostalgia but also doesn't pretend like the audience hasn't changed in the years since the graphic novels and movie came out.

ironically the comic is more mature than the anime in my opinion. cuz guess what, ya can't just travel through time to solve your issues. spending a few months away from your partner, going on a wilderness sabbatical, accepting your bad half instead of beating it up, all those things are more realistic and close to what people actually go through when having relationship issues. the time travel stuff is the cheap way out when you only have one episode left to wrap up your ridiculously short anime.

if they had more to wrap up the ending i think i would've liked it, but they stuffed so much into those last two episodes that it took some points off for me. and the notion that the anime ending is in any way shape or form more mature than the comic ending honestly baffles me.
Because in reality it's much harder to confront yourself than just having your future self literally show up and shove the message down your throat. Scott went through a straight up depression in the comics and had a wilderness sabbatical before finding back to ramona. that's so much stronger than whatever the anime did.

The art, animation, music and story is pretty interesting! Only thing that bothers me is the voice acting, it lacks that power for me sometimes.
