    I bought the LG 32GQ850-B off their website for $350. First time moving to 32", maintaining 240 hz and 1ms response, but switching from a VA to (nano) IPS. It's hardware calibrated, looks good out of the box, and has a great stand.
    It was a big difference in my replay of Nine Sols for line and color clarity during movement. I haven't ever had a good experience with HDR, so this one's weak HDR isn't a concern. It did suck going from curved to flat again, though. lol
    I want an OLED in the future, but I currently cannot justify spending the huge amounts on my ideal monitors right now, since they're $600-1300.
    Now with hindsight, I don't recommend VA panels. I love ultra high framerates, but I'd recommend getting a great-looking IPS with a lower refresh rate ceiling of 144-180 hz. You'll save yourself money (especially if staying under 4k), and likely get an actual better viewing experience on the more affordable side.

    The successor to the AOC Q27G3XMN, the G27G4XM, is out in China, and will probably get a global release date soon. It has all of the same features as the former monitor (1440p, 180hz, HDR1000) but upgraded to 1152 dimming zones and changed from VA to IPS, so hopefully black smearing and bad viewing angles will be less of an issue. I'd love to see a review on that when it comes about as it will hopefully be a pretty decent upgrade over the Q27G3XMN for around the same price. I'm holding on my monitor purchase until then.

    • @xephorix
      @xephorix 2 дня назад

      It hasn't arrived yet, but I can tell you that when you get a GOOD VA panel that isn't too much of an issue. If you play fast-paced FPS games then you might want to steer clear of it, and go for an IPS instead (maybe something like the Xiaomi G Pro 27i. I tried that out and had a good experience with it but had to return it due to minor color inaccuracies as I use my monitor for artwork, outside of that I thought it was great). but VA usually isn't nearly as bad as people say it is. and for the price I've heard it's an absolute steal.

    Thanks for the great content! I'm wondering if you will get the chance to review the MSI MAG274QRF-QD E2. It's currently selling in my region for ~270$ which is almost half the price for which the original sold, and I would love to see your professional opinion on it. It certainly has some interesting features, but also some aspects that leave me a bit wanting.

    I just bought a LG Ultragear 27Gr75Q-B 165hz for 170€, my old monitor died and I was surviving only with my 4k TV, still feel it's not a improvement over gaming on the TV (visuals and overwhelming by size), but Gsync works on the LG, can't say the same on the tv. It's my first IPS, I would prefer a 32'' inch for gaming but at this price I couldn't wait more. It feels some games achieve better performance in 1440p on the monitor than on the TV (more fps).

    For me the AOC 25G3ZM or Philips Evnia 25M2N3200W were the target. Both with VA panel since I'm a casual 1st person / strategic gamer, and after proper calibration they were excellent. (Finally I chose the cheaper one, with 31.5% VAT in my home country, nothing's simple.)

    Hey I need some advice monitors unboxed. I want to upgrade from my 1080p 60hz tn panel to a 2q ips one around 200 euros. Two reasonable choices for the price is 1)the gigabyte m27q 2.0 for 199 and 2)the hp omen 27q for 179 which is out of stock. Should I opt to get something more expensive like the Dell that you are recommending(260 euros)

    I need advice on a monitor for a very niche situation. I play on my PC from across the room in a medical bed...so I need a larger display. I'd say what I'm looking for is 48-50", 4k, HDR, with probably somewhere around 120-144hz.

    I'm not very knowledgable on tech so I ordered an AOC C27G4ZXU. It should arrive in a few days. I already have the Alienware DWF but I only use it for the "cinematic" gaming experience.
    I needed a monitor to do the static job with decent refresh, decent colors, doesn't burden my PC, and easy to move when I want to use the DWF. So I hope the AOC C27G4ZXU is good.
    EDIT: My current "work" monitor is an old Samsung S27D590CS with some burnt pixels.

    Thanks for the review, Tim! I just got the (new?) Acer Predator XB323QK V3, it's a 32" (31.5" actual) 4K IPS, 160hz, and it's available right now on Newegg for $600. I'm pretty impressed with it's overall quality, and it'll do me very well for at least a few years until OLED has evolved some. The primary reasons I didn't go with an OLED are the non-RGB subpixel structure and the nausea-inducing flicker.. I'll add that I did have a ASUS PG32UCDP for about a month, and returned it for those specific reasons, though there were other annoyances too. I do wish the Acer had HDR (the Acer has the "not really" HDR that a lot of non-OLEDs claim but don't offer), but overall I'm ok with my purchase.

    Meanwhile, i bought the msi G32CQ4-E2 for real world 250 bucks, it has some blur, mainly at lower refresh rates, but the difference in size from a small 27 inch screen is BIG. My cat destroyed it, so i was researching what else could i buy to replace it, and i ended up buying it again, because there is simply no other gaming-usable 32 inch monitor for that price that i know of. The only other monitor i was considering was the 27" AOC Q27G3XMN/BK, but its out of stock in my european country.
