    the pull and drain system on the engine os pure genius , this will be my first oil change , just bought it from a doctor who took great care of it , i really like it , its fast and very powerful , looks great also , i love it !!!
    the only thing i dont like , it wont cut in reverse lol !!!

    • @Artisticmetals
      @Artisticmetals  Месяц назад +1

      It should have no problem mowing in reverse, Once started rotate the key back (1) position so that it is at the 12:00 position and it will go in reverse without shutting down.

    With NO instructions, other than to "remove oil plug", your tutorial pointed out the bayonet pull valve. Thank you so much! Easy the next time.

    i recently bought a poulan PP175G42 from a doctor friend of mine who only had it for about 5 months . his aero turn was giving him trouble and bought this from an estate sale that belonged to a very old man . the reason i just bought it , he has decided to move to another state and doesn't need it anymore . after cutting my yard , i noticed it didnt cut as good as my 4 wheel drive walk behind troy built mower .
    the left front and right rear tire both has a small hole in the side wall , he had been filling it up with air all this time , i did something kind of stupid , i put fix-a -flat in them to stop the slow leak . tire pressure counts when a well mowed lawn is wanted . then i cleaned it up really good and noticed the blades are really in need of replacing .they are in the worst shape i ever have seen and cannot be re-sharpen , not much blade left LOL .
    thats a costly job i have to do . then the dect only drops to the 2 and a half position . the deck needs to be worked on , i will get another adjuster for the other side . so i have to spend a few hundred to get it to cut good again , tires , deck work and def some new blades . it looks almost brand new , i got it dirt cheap for 300 dollars so maybe another 300 dollars wont be so bad to have a good riding mower .
    i also plan on doing full maintenance ,fuel and oil filter , oil change , a E3 special spark plug and a little shot of carburetor cleaner and a dash of marvel mystery oil in the gas tank .
    i am kindda regretting getting it in a way , i have a lot of obstacles in the yard , but the reverse hack you told me about is one negative i can scratch off my list , thanks again for that ! LOL
    i still will have to edge ,weed eat and use my push lawn mower , i will have to repair it and see if its worth the trouble to keep .
    once repaired i know i could at least get a grand for it , i dunno , will have to consider it all one day .

    Definitely a tough little tractor. Mine is a smaller version and I'm almost positive it has no oil filter. Just change the oil for the first time in close to 10 years and it was very easy to do. Had a couple rough seasons where it wouldn't start but ended up just being spark plug and battery issues. Paid $250 for it 10 years ago so I definitely got my money's worth. And now with some fresh oil hopefully it lasts another 10.

    I'm pretty certain that when you check the oil level, you DO NOT twist the cap back down. You simply put the stick straight down and pull it straight back up. My TORO self-propelled is like this, per the user manual. Also, It only makes sense.

    • @Artisticmetals
      @Artisticmetals  2 года назад +2

      CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL•The engine in your tractor has been shipped, from thefactory, already fi lled with sum mer weight oil.•Check engine oil with tractor on level ground.•Remove oil fi ll cap/dipstick and wipe clean, reinsert thedipstick and screw cap tight, wait for a few seconds,remove and read oil level. If necessary, add oil until"FULL" mark on dipstick is reached. Do not overfi ll.•For cold weather operation you should change oil foreasier starting (See "OIL VISCOSITY CHART"

  • @RiseOrRelinquish
    @RiseOrRelinquish 4 месяца назад

    can you elaborate on that little nipple/fitting connected to the oil plug threads. I like that idea of connecting a hose and letting it drain. I just got mine used and changed the oil, what a mess it made all over the bottom of the engine and frame. What a crappy design. The oil plug should be at the bottom of the sump.

    • @Artisticmetals
      @Artisticmetals  4 месяца назад

      I use a 3/8” ID clear tube with a quick connector hose clamp and it works great. The hose is 16” - 18” long and it just drops down into a bucket. I wasn’t sure about the valve the first time I changed the oil but now I like it.

    • @artisticoutdoors3115

      My guess would be a fuel issue. Check to see if you are getting gas to the carb first. If you are getting fuel to the carb then it needs to be pulled and cleaned out. Good luck keep us updated. 👍
