Zennethe the studio put this scene in specifically for credits, crunchyroll played the ending cinematic afterwards, which confused everyone who was sitting through the canary eye.
In a strange sort of way, the prolonged eye scene actually made it seem like Goblin Slayer had died. I did not know how many episodes were to be made so it actually could have been a tremendously hard hitting way of ending the short run of the series. You'd be sitting there and left to think "Something is going to happen. Any second now!" And... nothing. Nothing at all. A brutal ending, but everyone except the troubled Goblin Slayer surviving. Buuut.. then it's all an accident and the next episode he's back in full form and clearly it shows it was unintentional.. or merely done for shock factor.
9:00 It's made of hair - human hair similar to spider web can be extremely strong (maybe not as much as spider webs are ridiculously strong) when you have a big amount of it. It's like breaking sticks - it's easy to break one, but take handful of them and it will be much harder.
I dont want to spoil things, but remember, Water Town is built in ruins of an older temple. That room they were in was not only last used(by people) hundreds of years ago and is well off the map Sword Maiden gave them.

GOblin Slayer saved her when she was new as Adventurer and stand at the blink of Death ( and Rapping), she is traveling with him some time now ( Dont know, 2 Months or 3 Months?) and even if he isnt a Man of Many nice Words, he deeply cares for the Priestes on there Quests, and Priestes cares for him too. But i think for Priestes it is most likely, that Goblin Slayer is not only a Great Mentor for her, i think it is more and more like that she saw him as a Big Brother who cares for her, and she sees him as her " Safepoint" in Life, she knows, if Goblin Slayer is around her, nothing will happen to her. In the LN it was described that the Priestes was a Orphan. And Goblin Slayer... well he is complicated but i think he sees her a little bit like a Little Sister after all the Time, and know he trys all he can to make sure she is safe. He definitly will never see it again, that People die in front of him, for which he cares and loves ( First it was only Cow Girl, now is Priestes a Part of it, and more and more the 3 others, the Dwarf, the Lizardmen and the Elf) They put down a bit the Brutal part from the Priestes, in the Light Novel and Manga this Champion bite her into her Shoulder and rip a bit of it out, she survived mostly thanks to the Chainmail that she buyed in the Past after Goblin Slayer rescued her. WIthout that she definitly had lost her Arm and got a deadly wound. The Voice and the Small Creature, that was his Mentor, that rescued him from the Village and trained him for 5 Years in a extrem brutal way. Btw, in the end, the Scene with the Birds Eye, in the TV Version they let down the End Credits, but all the publisher like Crunchyroll etc. made a mistake or whatever. But here we have seen that Goblin Slayer gives a shit on something like that. When the gods roll him a 1, that actually means that he has failed and death is nearing everyone. But Goblin Slayer spits on the gods and destiny and throws the death his middle finger in the face, and rappels with sheer willpower, driven by the hatred of goblins and fear of losing his comrades, especially his "little sister" (priestess) losing them in front of his eyes, so he fights his fate. Like i mentioned, the small Creature, that saved him ( he was a Rhea, remember that little Asshole from EP5? thats the same Race) gave him a absolut brutal training. This has given Goblin Slayer an already " inhumane " and incredible amount of endurance and pain tolerance. This is not only apparent from the fact that he gets up and walks around despite the shattered chest, deformed lungs, internal bleeding, etc. In the scene when he hits him in the eye, he used the right arm, and this was almost through the champion's punch completely shattered.
When the Ending for this episode begins to play the credits should be rolling on the screen, but for the reason the versions of this episode for streaming services have this rare version at the end. They (crunchyroll) screwed up the ending. The credits were supposed to be playing when you see the canary. I can't believe they haven't fixed it yet. It's been a week now.
Not only that, but it wasn't even going to stay that long on the eye. If would have been there for a few seconds for some credits, then fade to black to continue them.
GS is tank character his job in the party is go to the front line kick serious ass and take damage the High Priestess is a support character her job was to keep the freaking protection up, she got one job one freaking job.

The Sword Maiden years ago when she was young was captured, raped and tormented by Goblins for 3 days before she managed to escape. It's why she has so many scars across her body. And why she knows about Goblins.
Sword maiden is really powerful(although we can't see it in this season) I can't talk too much about why she can't go to fight goblins, it is spoilers after all.....
