Both of them most likely knew about the violence in Goblin Slayer. Kimchi was overreacting during the stabing of the witch girl, but then came the rape scene and we saw a genuine reaction from Tofu, that was awesome, hahaha.

Basically, the series looks at the consequences of ignoring "lower level" quests, or side quests. People ignore the goblins thinking they're weak and not worth their time . . . but, they're like roaches or rats, their horde gets bigger then expands. That's when they become a problem. That's why the Slayer goes for them . . . he's an exterminator.

It gets worst. this is not a happy world. from a manga reader, this is grittier, more realistic. A low level monster like a goblin can and will kill and/or rape anyone who is not prepared. Do not feel for them, or the goblin children - there is no female goblins in this world. Every one of them is the product of a kidnapped and raped human girl. If you let one escape, it gets stronger and smarter. There are light hearted moments and humour in the manga, but there is this ever present undertone of the sheer brutality of this fantasy world. This is unique among most anime these days. Friendship and love will not always save the day. One of the best manga I have ever read, nearly as horrible in parts as Berserk - but it truly is a story worth experiencing. I can't wait for more anime episodes.

not really...i've read goblin slayer and it's quite tiring to read ... feels like it's a monster of the week type of show but instead changing the monsters it's the people who die. and after a few chapters of death and gore there's nothing to expect. it has the same problem with attack on titan but at least there's a mystery in aot and the writer do really tries to change and freshen up aot's story. i say goblin slayer cling too much to it's gimmick rather than create a good story. it's still a good read but it's not something you should read and expect something new to offer. imo it's a poor man's berserk. probably the best issekai recently is saga of tanya the evil ... the manga and light novel is fun to read while the anime delve on the more serious note of the story. if you love history and world war 1-2 , politics , military history and tactics you gonna love saga of tanya the evil. it's a great what if scenario during the early 20th century. what if like ; what if ww1 was delayed 10 years? what if magic existed during that time? what if donald trump is capable person and got sent back in time turned into a little girl and became hitler?
'Goblin Slayer' is more of a realistic adventurer genre. The MC doesn't even have any special power, it all comes down to practice and experience. The magic user's system is the "limited time use per day" rather than "cooldown & mana pool", which makes it harder and more critical to use at the right time. I consider this as a good refreshment for adventurer genre, because after isekai's sudden outburst in anime industry, the MC have the common things. They all granted special power & harem. Which most of them are trashy and straight up boring, and shouldn't be considered as adventure. Now 'Goblin Slayer'? This is what i want. A realistic picture of how adventurer does in a messed up world (Just like Berserk)
I don't like the fact that other isekai anime treats killing like jokes (except for Grimgar). Every creature will fight back with their entire ferocity when you try to kill them. They want to live too.

Guess nobody warned you that this is a dark, brutal story. Just like Konosuba! LOL. This is awesome. There will be some humor later. It's not all dark all the time, but it's mostly dark. New characters in the next episode will help with the humor. Not sure this is an anime that you can handle though. Notice that the brutality amplified how good you felt when the avenging Goblin Slayer showed up. You REALLY wanted GS to kill those gobs because of how evil the gobs were.
I agree with you no one warned them of this story, the other characters that will come make the story more light and funny. I just want to say that not always the hero will be funny and charismatic, some times they are dark and grimm and like in GS there are topics that other persons don't say like rape, murder, kill kids. Thats why GS is good because it show us those topics that happens in the real world

That's no realistic Konosuba. Kazuma can freeze goblins horde with ease or Aqua can flush them. Darkness on the other hand enjoyn ganging by goblins. And Megumin irony is now useless here.
@Pieces109 berserk is Edgy asf, my point is that berserk has a lore a pretty good one the only problem is how long is taking the mangaka to end the series and how it's losing it's essence with time. But goblin slayer has barely a lore, the character are generic there's 0 metalanguage like berserk has, if u read the first chapter u are jumped straight up to a hentai . and u can see that's the technique the mangaka used to boost his series, the fight is cheap and the character are even cheaper. of all he mangas this is the one i would never guess they would make an anime
8:07 It definitely works, but it's a healing spell, not a poison antidote spell. The mage was recovering hp, but her poison status ailment was not removed. So, the heal was effectively prolonging the mage's suffering.
Everyone outraged by this anime are obviously ppl who have not been watching anime since the early 2000's.... There were far more gruesome anime than this one....
it wasn't the most dark but it was the most poorly labeled. do to a fuck up crunchyroll rated it PG. that and the cover art led to lots of young kid watching thinking it was a nice adventure anime. that is why there is outrage. no one under 10 should be watching. the manga didn't pretend to be kid friendly or a happy story. all the other ones made it clear from the start. yes berserk surprised a lot of people but it started dark and then lured us into false security. this one did a quick flash at the start but it was to short and failed as a warning as it just left watchers confused. this is the problem, its not that its dark its that those who don't like this stuff were baited into it.

I dont get why people react like that when he kills the babies. Those babies that seem innocent can screw an entire village in about a month. Killing baby goblins is nothing compared to what they are doing to the humans.
Because it's the first episode and so they don't know just how vengeful goblins are, or that they breed like wildfire, or that those very babies will be acting just like the adults in a matter of days. To many, they are just innocent baby goblins like babies of any other species.
@@habfan1018 nah, because later in that same series it is explained that stronger adventurers avoid goblin quests, so the guilds had to lower the rating of those quests just to get rookie adventurers to do them, due to rookie adventurers don't know the truth about goblins and think they're weak.
You could say the extremely Dark version of Konosuba. The Story gets better though throughout the series. It has its dark moments but has some Light moments too.
Goblin Slayer is like a more realistic take on a fantasy adventure setting. High-level competent adventurers going to better missions for good pay and fame. Leaving the more mundane and simple missions to newbie adventurers who have no experience or preparations before hand. Never underestimate your opponent and always make preparations. Both of these weren't done by the party and lead to most of them either dead or incapacitated. Plus the Goblin Slayer didn't need special weapons or tools to deal with the goblins. Hence he can just use basic weapons and the goblin's own weapons against them. He back them up with skills and experience. High level adventurers use equipment made from special materials and needed high quality maintenance, both of which are expensive.
Besides, Goblin Slayer has the right mindset. Should he die (never going to happen) his equipment would be looted by the goblins, making them stronger if he were to come with custom made, special armor and weapons. He is playing the long game!
the poison the goblins use is a special goblin poison made from not only from toxic herbs but also from goblin urine and excrement, making it more painful and fast acting to anyone who is infected to it. the priestess's healing does work but not against the poison.
Kahahahahahahah! The moment i heard the words "Chibi","Konosuba" and "Comedy" i was like "MUAHAHAHAHAHA YOU FOOL!" Think of it as a fusion of Overlord and Berserker.
I will always remember Goblin Slayer everytime I see a goblin from now on. It simply can´t be undone. The same thing with the word "Eclipse", I will always remember Berserk.
*Message to Kimchi and Tofu:* Don't worry guys, it gets a little lighter as the story progresses. It's still grim though. Oh, and have no empathy or sympathy for the goblins, they don't deserve it, and killing the babies was necessary, if he let them live, he would've spared another generation of adventurer mutilating goblins, so killing them was for the best. My advice, watch a real light-hearted anime and read the manga to emotionally ready yourselves...

Bro Goblin Slayer has such an intense first episode and that's what sucked me in. The rest of the series wasn't as intense but it still lived up to the first episodes hype. This is a show I definitely want a season 2 for.
I didnt think Goblin Slayer was their style of anime, i expected them to watch the Reincarnated as a Slime anime instead. And watching their reactions were awesome, but Kimchi & Tofu are too kind hearted for Goblin Slayer. It's an awesome story and it wont get much worse than this, but Goblin Slayer is still a dark type of anime.
There is no more rape depicted at least. The best scenes are the ones where you are inside Goblin Slayers head and hear his inner monologue where he counts out how many he has killed.
It is dark, but it's also a little uplifting with how Goblin Slayer literally fights against fate and the Gods to win. He chose his path, he chose to live, he chose everything.
I love how people are genuinely horrified by the events of Goblin Slayer's first episode. Meanwhile, I'm laying down on the couch and thinking, "Okay, yeah it's gruesome, but you don't really see anything."
its because there's rape in it, so people think its bad, kinda ironically since, in beserk, Guts is raped as a child. and Caska, his love interest, also gets raped by a demonic version of his best friend...
The problem is, people decide to blame the anime not the goblins. The idea behind it is to make you HATE the goblins a fraction of the amount goblin slayer does, to make you understand why he acts the way he does, just a little bit.

Its just so F_cked up in context, the way he so deeply dehumanizes Casca in that moment because you know he's only did it to F_ck with Guts which makes what he's doing to Casca so much worse.
Aw, I'm slightly sad y'all passed it up, but yeah, that first episode is quite the test. It's a really good series, it's like the little brother to Berserk. Once pass the first episode everything else is alot easier through. In the meantime I'll continue to enjoy y'all's wonderful reaction to JoJo :D

It gets worst. this is not a happy world. from a manga reader, this is grittier, more realistic. A low level monster like a goblin can and will kill and/or rape anyone who is not prepared. Do not feel for them, or the goblin children - there is no female goblins in this world. Every one of them is the product of a kidnapped and raped human girl. If you let one escape, it gets stronger and smarter.
There are light hearted moments and humour in the manga, but there is this ever present undertone of the sheer brutality of this fantasy world. This is unique among most anime these days. Friendship and love will not always save the day. One of the best manga I have ever read, nearly as horrible in parts as Berserk - but it truly is a story worth experiencing. I can't wait for more anime episodes.
Garlic Avenger The Goblin Lord is the best example for what happens when you spare a goblin.

not really...i've read goblin slayer and it's quite tiring to read ... feels like it's a monster of the week type of show but instead changing the monsters it's the people who die. and after a few chapters of death and gore there's nothing to expect. it has the same problem with attack on titan but at least there's a mystery in aot and the writer do really tries to change and freshen up aot's story. i say goblin slayer cling too much to it's gimmick rather than create a good story.
it's still a good read but it's not something you should read and expect something new to offer. imo it's a poor man's berserk.
probably the best issekai recently is saga of tanya the evil ... the manga and light novel is fun to read while the anime delve on the more serious note of the story. if you love history and world war 1-2 , politics , military history and tactics you gonna love saga of tanya the evil. it's a great what if scenario during the early 20th century. what if like ; what if ww1 was delayed 10 years? what if magic existed during that time? what if donald trump is capable person and got sent back in time turned into a little girl and became hitler?

'Goblin Slayer' is more of a realistic adventurer genre. The MC doesn't even have any special power, it all comes down to practice and experience. The magic user's system is the "limited time use per day" rather than "cooldown & mana pool", which makes it harder and more critical to use at the right time. I consider this as a good refreshment for adventurer genre, because after isekai's sudden outburst in anime industry, the MC have the common things. They all granted special power & harem. Which most of them are trashy and straight up boring, and shouldn't be considered as adventure. Now 'Goblin Slayer'? This is what i want. A realistic picture of how adventurer does in a messed up world (Just like Berserk)
I don't like the fact that other isekai anime treats killing like jokes (except for Grimgar). Every creature will fight back with their entire ferocity when you try to kill them. They want to live too.

Guess nobody warned you that this is a dark, brutal story. Just like Konosuba! LOL. This is awesome. There will be some humor later. It's not all dark all the time, but it's mostly dark. New characters in the next episode will help with the humor. Not sure this is an anime that you can handle though. Notice that the brutality amplified how good you felt when the avenging Goblin Slayer showed up. You REALLY wanted GS to kill those gobs because of how evil the gobs were.
I agree with you no one warned them of this story, the other characters that will come make the story more light and funny. I just want to say that not always the hero will be funny and charismatic, some times they are dark and grimm and like in GS there are topics that other persons don't say like rape, murder, kill kids. It definitely works, but it's a healing spell, not a poison antidote spell. The mage was recovering hp, but her poison status ailment was not removed. So, the heal was effectively prolonging the mage's suffering.

it wasn't the most dark but it was the most poorly labeled. do to a fuck up crunchyroll rated it PG. that and the cover art led to lots of young kid watching thinking it was a nice adventure anime. that is why there is outrage. no one under 10 should be watching. the manga didn't pretend to be kid friendly or a happy story. all the other ones made it clear from the start. yes berserk surprised a lot of people but it started dark and then lured us into false security. this one did a quick flash at the start but it was to short and failed as a warning as it just left watchers confused. this is the problem, its not that its dark its that those who don't like this stuff were baited into it.

I dont get why people react like that when he kills the babies. Those babies that seem innocent can screw an entire village in about a month. Killing baby goblins is nothing compared to what they are doing to the humans.
Because it's the first episode and so they don't know just how vengeful goblins are, or that they breed like wildfire, or that those very babies will be acting just like the adults in a matter of days. To many, they are just innocent baby goblins like babies of any other species.

Goblin Slayer is like a more realistic take on a fantasy adventure setting. High-level competent adventurers going to better missions for good pay and fame. Leaving the more mundane and simple missions to newbie adventurers who have no experience or preparations before hand. Never underestimate your opponent and always make preparations. Both of these weren't done by the party and lead to most of them either dead or incapacitated.
Plus the Goblin Slayer didn't need special weapons or tools to deal with the goblins. Hence he can just use basic weapons and the goblin's own weapons against them. He back them up with skills and experience.
High level adventurers use equipment made from special materials and needed high quality maintenance, both of which are expensive.

the poison the goblins use is a special goblin poison made from not only from toxic herbs but also from goblin urine and excrement, making it more painful and fast acting to anyone who is infected to it. the priestess's healing does work but not against the poison.

Bro Goblin Slayer has such an intense first episode and that's what sucked me in. The rest of the series wasn't as intense but it still lived up to the first episodes hype. This is a show I definitely want a season 2 for.

There is no more rape depicted at least. The best scenes are the ones where you are inside Goblin Slayers head and hear his inner monologue where he counts out how many he has killed.

The problem is, people decide to blame the anime not the goblins. The idea behind it is to make you HATE the goblins a fraction of the amount goblin slayer does, to make you understand why he acts the way he does, just a little bit.

@@marcosdheleno The thing that always get with that scene is how Griffith never looks at Casca during the act he's looking right into Guts' eyes the whole time. Its just so F_cked up in context, the way he so deeply dehumanizes Casca in that moment because you know he's only did it to F_ck with Guts which makes what he's doing to Casca so much worse.
Aw, I'm slightly sad y'all passed it up, but yeah, that first episode is quite the test. It's a really good series, it's like the little brother to Berserk. Once pass the first episode everything else is alot easier through. In the meantime I'll continue to enjoy y'all's wonderful reaction to JoJo :D

@@cottonmather1969 I think for Goblin Slayer, the reason they started like this was to say "This is the world we are in, these are our goblins" Berserk was more discovering the world alongside Guts (Though, the first page of the manga is him fucking a demon)
