So I have replaced ALL callipers, blleeded them, adjusted hand brake and even a new brake bias unit! But even after all this, my brake is quite mushy, takes about 50% travel of the pedal before the brake applies, and perhaps down at 90% of the pedals movement, is where I bareley lock the wheels I dont quite like this in case of a emergency in traffic. What do you suggest it could be? It has to be the master brake cylinder i guess?
Unfortunately there’s a good chance you could have damaged your master cylinder bleeding things. If they’re old, They get used to moving on the same section of the master cylinder. Meaning any dirt or debris can build up either side of that. When you bleed it and push the brake right down, you can sometimes end up tearing the seals.
It could be your master cylinder as you suspect. I was thinking about my track car and why the brakes are so good and one of the reasons is it has a larger master cylinder off a 1996-2003 vw caddy van on it. It’s a larger master so if you’re going to change it this could be a nice upgrade.
hi there, i recently swap my cluster from my 1.6 driver to gti cluster to try and get a rev gauge, now im stuck as i can’t seem to get it to work, any help?
I love the MK2 content.
Keep that TD Jetta, she is a great source of channel content.
