I own a FTDX101D and have used a friends FTDX10D for about a month. I did not test 1:1 , but i don´t recall any difference. On the other side the FTDX10 is a very much limited simpler Radio and can not compete with the big box . It´s more features, connectors and possibilities for more money.
No difference - none that I could hear for this test. The receiver hardware is supposed to be slightly different pre-DSP in the radios but they are engineered to do the same thing and they sound just the same to me in this example. Another Excellent++ video.
I've had my DX10 for 1.2 years and it's now in the shop for repairs. Finals burnt out according to Yaesu tech. Thinking on getting the 101d with the two scopes. I can use one scope for my antenna and the other scope with a receiving loop. All at the same time. Will probably keep the DX10 as a backup and use it with a different antenna setup.
No difference that would make you pick up signals you would not pick up on the other. I did similar tests between the FTdx10 and the FT991, no real difference. Base your choice on other factors: ergonomics, features, etc.
A friend of mine has the 101MP and I have the FTDX10. Both are good radios and have excellent receive. The ergonomics of the FTDX10 isn't very good, so be aware. It is something one can get used to however.
I meant FTDX10. I own a 10 and have spent quite a bit of time on the 101, and the 101 has much better ergonomics In my opinion. The FTDX10 is still a very good radio, it just takes some time to get used to.
Not using VC tune which is the big thing on the 101. I have both radios. The 10 is very nice and very much a good buy for the money (well in todays dollars) but the 101 and vc tune is blooding amazing. Both radios suffer from ui issues but they are manageable. Yaesu really needs to steal an icom ui engineer to their team. Meter function on the icoms is useful, especially if you do a lot of digital work.
Excellent example! I own both and agree. Identical receiver sensitivity. Shut your eyes and you won’t know which one is on.
If I am not wrong they have nearly the same receiver , the 101 has the VC tune that the 10 does not have.

The AGC on the 101MP is set to MID as opposed to auto on the 10, would that make a difference in this comparison ?

FTDX101MP gives a higher signal level.
But its price is like a golden bridge😰
