Wow these guys work really well together. It's not easy to find two tech heads that clearly know their stuff yet don't have an awkward nerdiness on camera. That Yaesu is to die for too!
With being on a computer all day for work, I love sitting in front of the 101D and driving it as a radio should be! As a new general ticket holder, I’ve been very fortunate to have this as my 1st HF rig. And will be using it well into retirement in a few years for sure. Great video!
Great video gents and looking forward to the next one. David, it was lovely to meet you on Wednesday, Mark it was great to see you again and thank you for looking after me. Fantastic service as always. 73s
I love my 101D. I own a Flex, Anan, 101D and Sun SDR DX2. They other 3 are great but a very different experience. The 101 is my knobs and buttons and no computer radio. So nice to operate.
Got mine a few weeks ago. This is monster!! Still learning the controls with the help of Radio Today and plenty of RUclips videos. VC tuning and DNR/DNF are amazing, just pulls signals out of noise. Also brilliant service from all at ML&S, thank you
I always run the radio with the notch setting set at 2500Hz, as this removes all the high end 'hiss' from the background noise floor and makes weak stations much more audible.
I had the pleasure of playing with the 101 in your store. Lovely radio and BIG! What I particularly enjoyed is that it is a machine, with buttons and knobs and you do feel like truly operating a radio.
Thanks Mark, David, this has to be one of the best intros to the FTDX101D/MP for new/prospective purchasers. Having owned the FTDX9000D, a lot of the features cross over to the 101mp which i now own. There are however some new features that are new to me yet to get the hang of that you touch on here. Great video.
I am partial to Yaesu and the FTdx101 is a very fine radio. If it were not for Elecraft I would own one. I presently have a Elecraft K3 & P3 which I love. When I upgrade it will be to the Elecraft K4.
Good interesting video, well explained 👍 in the Netherlands 🇳🇱 yeasu have discounted the full range,,AGAIN,,,and second hand prices have dropped like a stone, 🙄 keep up the good work 73s from Rotterdam 🙏🙏
I have had mine for about two years 101MP. The rig is brilliantly designed and fit and finish is excellent . It’s so ‘fun’ to operate. Nice review. I do have two wishes: one, wish they had built in Ethernet and second , using DVI-D for video out I do not get why they made such a backward move. HDMI would had made much more sense.
Other than the nice display and spectrum scope, I wonder if it really performs better than my FTdx5000. Some folks that have both claim in actual use they are pretty close. I recently added the SDRPlay to mine so I could have a scope.
This was a great presentation but could you do one the same on the ftdx5000 please as want to upgrade from the ftdx10 and still not made my mind up.thankyou 73
Can anyone tell me why averaging is desirable because i personally want to know whats happening right now not a average but im open to suggestions as to why i may prefer it also dose the scu-lan have averaging with the dx10 as well just in case i do change my mind on not needing averaging
As fas as I know the purpose of the averaging is so you can see a hump to indicate there is activity on a frequency. Yaesu has solved this via the 3D-display where you can see the signals in depth vs time. This requires some fiddling with the display settings for the 3D-display to have it work nicely.

I like the fact that when you turn it on it returns the favor.
Hi guys, I've just placed a deposit on that radio Sat in front of you. Can wait to collect it next week 😊

Hands down, the FTdx101mp is the finest radio I've ever used or owned. A true game changer for me, and has rekindled my interest in the hobby.
Nice video. David is a great addition to the team, very knowledgeable, and good rapport with Mark
@@yonipre absolutely 💯

I purchased my 101MP in 2021 wonderful radio but still learning how to use it!
Love this radio, but out my price range, so still rocking my minted Yaesu FT950, such a beautiful old radio 🥰
I still have the FT-950 as well.
have a 950 also and have a 101mp .but 950 rocks
There's nothing wrong with the Yaesu FT-950, they are very capable transceivers.
For me the FT710 ticks all the boxes. Hits the sweet spot between technical abilities and price

I own the FTdx10 and love it. One day, I will own the MP.

I've come back to find a nice couple of capable and likable presenters at last !

I have the baby brother. The FT-dx10 which I am amazed by the receiver. Maybe one day I will afford the MP.
I have no interest in ham radio, but i love my 101MP, great receiver, still learning all the featurs, i still love my old JRC and ICOM R71 receivers..
Mark..
Seperate sdrs for audio and band scope?
Do the FTDX10 AND OR FT710 share this fact?
Thanks

Need to update the title is a MP ;)
Yes I can say it is a good radio. But I not have use mine so must. Over a years old only 10 QSO on it.
i love it
If you had to choose- 101 or 10?
The choice depens on your use.
Every new transceiver that you buy from Martin Lynch comes with a tiny male human that you have to adopt, feed, and take care of. 😮
I'll get one if I ever win the big lottery.
10:25 Hello!
Easy & Brilliant smooth presentation David & Mark,❤🎉 thankyou, MORE MORE for the ideas🎉
