Thank you for all the content! Just took the ASVAB this past week. Scored a 96- your videos were a huge help to jog my memory of concepts I had not used in a while.
I took my first practice test and scored a 29 and took it a week after again after studying for a week straight using only grammar hero and got a 49. I went up 20 points y’all! I’m still studying for the asvab which is in two weeks! Thank you grammar hero’
Studied the Geometry formulas from another video, and used many of your other videos to include this one to study for the ASVAB. I had not done real algebra, geometry, or word problems in almost 17 years. I got an 82 on AFQT. Appreciate your channel. I am ready to help my daughter with Algebra next year.
Congrats on the score, you're welcome, and I'm glad my videos were helpful! Algebra I is an important class. Generally, if you become very good at basic algebra, you can eventually make it through all of the calculus classes, too.
I got a 34 on my practice asvab, and I take the picat today at 11 am, I am quite nervous because I tend to overthink the questions and math was always something I struggled with hopefully I get a good score.
For question 2 you can simply just divide 400 by 8 and that leaves you at 50. With this information you can determine that 1 car is 50 people. Then just multiply 50x5 and boom 250. Seems a lot easier this way.
I could solve that one without doing any work whatsoever. Of course, the point of working it out the way I did is to show you how to set up proportions and use cross multiplication to solve those types of problems. On the ASVAB, the numbers almost certainly won't be that easy to work with.
My brain wants to die right now. Good stuff tho, this was a great refresher for formulas i forgot about since I've never used them other than for the ASVAB and in school
For the last question ... why did u multiply by -2? Like where did you pulled -2 from ? Did you just pull it from 2t and turn it into a negative to get rid of t?
nice video again grammar hero. I got number 1 wrong because i didn't know that the taxes were taken every month, i thought it was every year so I got the the answer with the 17K hahaha. I'm not from the US but I'm a legal permanent resident there. Here in my country we do it once a year but a large amount hahahaha :))) now I know
WHERE DID 54.12 CAME FROM (MATH PROBLEM #5.)? MY APOLOGIES THIS TYPE OF MATH IS NEW TO ME. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN WHERE DID THE 54.12 CAME FROM THANKS
As I mentioned in the video, I did it so I could eliminate the "t" variable. That is, I solved this system of equations using the elimination method. In the description of this video, there is a link to a video in which I discuss how to solve systems of equations.
I might be late but for anyone else who may read this I've been told multiple times the practice test the recruiter gives you is often harder than the actual test.
this shit is too hard😫 ive been studying for 2 months now I always forget what formula Im gonna use I still cant get it in my head and Im taking the real asvab next week
For the most part, the math subtests of the ASVAB cover the math concepts you should have learned between 4th and 10th grade. Because of that, it's not that difficult to create questions that mirror what you'll see on the test.
I take my test on September 8, I suck at test taking, I got a 16 on my last test. I’ve been watching your videos to help me improve on the 4 subjects. Is their any vocab words you can share with me? Thanks
On my channel, there are 43 word knowledge videos (i.e., almost 700 vocabulary words). If you start now, you can use them to create a list of words you need to learn. In addition, there are a lot of practice tests on my channel, where I break down how to solve virtually every type of question you'll see on the ASVAB. I'd watch as many of those as you can, especially my newer ones.
Is it possible to love sum one u haven’t met if it is then u know I know this is a officers test but I strongly believe if I follow on this the regular will be that much easier
I am taking the ASVAB in a couple of weeks. I have been out of school for 20 years. Trying to teach myself all related math as well as when/how to apply what I've learned to each problem I try to solve. Any tips on the order of which I should try to attack this so as not to waste too much time by studying inefficiently?
If you're decent at math already, I would just take as many practice tests as possible (e.g., ten for each subtest). If not, I'd watch the videos in this playlist and then take the practice tests: ruclips.net/p/PLhlU-GzAQeG1G47T95OqJkcjazmgLE6Tg
@@GrammarHerothank you. I am not decent at math. I have been using your videos to learn fractions, decimals etc over the last few days. I am 36 pushing age limitation along with GED/15 additional credits needing minimum score of 50, I am feeling the pressure.
Good luck! That playlist is a lot like an online course you would buy on Udemy, so it should be helpful. In addition, I have a small personal website, where you can take a short practice test that will estimate your AFQT score as well as download a copy of my reference sheet: www.asvabapp.com/ & www.asvabapp.com/Reference.pdf.
@@GrammarHero Hi there. I wanted to let you know that after only having 2 weeks to study after being out of school 20 years, I passed my ASVAB today on the first try! I studied primarily through your videos and study material. Such a great thing you are doing and I hope you continue. I could not have passed my test today without you. Thank you!!!
I am taking the AFOQT this coming year. Do you have any other material related to the AFOQT on your channel? I have searched within your channel and found some great videos but not so many towards the AFOQT. Do you recommend any specific videos that you encourage me to pay close attention too?
Right now, I only have two videos for the AFOQT on my channel, and they are practice tests for the math subtests. That said, all of my word knowledge videos should help you prepare for the AFOQT, too. Since I've gotten a lot of requests for more content recently, I may start creating some more things for it. Is there anything you would want in particular (e.g., verbal analogies)?
@@GrammarHero Tips on how to figure out Table Reading quicker would be helpful. Also, some helpful tips on Instrument Comprehension if possible. I continue to study both math knowledge and arithmetic reasoning within your videos. Do you by any chance know how similar it may be to that of the AFOQT?

Hey what were some of the main things or videos you studied??
From 17 to 43 afqt thanks hero grammar!! Studied 3 days only and had a huge improvement on my 2nd retest thank you!! You make it simpler

I can practically do all these problems in this video. Hopefully, I can score 74+ on the real ASVAB. Thanks buddy !
Good luck! Let me know how it goes.
I’m hoping to also get an 80 or more! If at all possible lol I don’t go in until after the holidays. I wish us both luck!!

Does this video cover everything that will be on the arithmetic reasoning portion of the test??? I take the practice test Friday.
In order to get a good idea as to what's on the arithmetic reasoning subtest, you'll have to watch about ten of these videos, not just one.
