I gotta tell you. I'm 31 and completely forgot about the ASVAB somehow when i walked into my recruiters office. When i first started this I would have had no clue on how to do questions like #12. Well here it is 4am the day of my practice test before the real one and i'm pausing questions and solving them before you even speak. Some of which I do in my head! Thank you!!!!

I wanted to thank you for your videos. I watched about 17 of your arithmetic reasoning videos in the span of a month and a half and also did some practice tests on the side throughout various sites and apps, and it raised my official ASVAB/AFCT scores from a 50 to a 82.
5 years ago I took the ASVAB 3 times and did not pass with score average between 16-19. Now I’m a husband and a father of 4 beautiful children with not much time at the age of 31. for number 10 i crossed bultiplied 10 by 4 and then 800 by one, divided 800 by 40 and got the same answer. i put them into a proportion as i learned in your proportioning video!
Good luck! Just keep in mind that, to validate the test, they will sometimes randomly roll you into the full version of the test. If that happens, you have an opportunity to score even higher!
at 6:32 why does he bring in the zero placeholder when he begins to multiply the 2 after he finishes multiplying the 6 and what is that process called? starting to realize how much math i have forgotten or maybe never knew.

For the ASVAB and PiCAT, you have to learn and memorize these formulas on my reference sheet: www.asvabapp.com/Reference.pdf I strongly believe that you really should memorize your times tables as well as the formulas in my reference sheet to do well on the test. But yes, they will provide you with scratch paper during the test, and you can write whatever you want on it.
When you need to find the sum of the item price and the sales tax of the good or total, I find it easier to multiply the good by the sales tax with a “the whole plus the percentage” unit- for example, [Item price: $32; sales tax: 2%- 32 x 1.02]. And that is correct.

Got a 7 on the sample test. Im 22 haven’t taken a test like that in ages or didn’t even know what was going to be on it. I will come back to this comment either weeks or months later to prove it all takes time.

I took my picat and got a 31 I know most of the material from this video already I just get really nervous and then answer all the questions wrong how do I not get the jitters or really nervous when taking the test im hoping to improve my score my recruiter said if I got a better general score I would be able to do any engineering job so I need help

For Question 18. I'm confused I use the combine rate formula basically doing T/A + T/B =1 but of course I did it as T/A - T/B. Which I did was 40/12,000 - 20/10,000. got a LCD of 200/60,000 - 100/60,000 which lead to to get answer A of course. So yea anything I should watch out for so I don't think this or made that mistake come test time?

Hi hero thank you so much for the video, I love the long videos I know it takes Aton of time to make these types of videos, so for that thank you for taking time from your day to help people who struggle with math. Second is there anything you would recommend to calm me down before taking my ASVAB, I’m taking my ASVAB next week (Thursday) and I really get so nervous I get to over think the word problems specially arithmetic part, that’s the part of the test I really struggle with, any tips would really be great. Just solve the question as if you were taking the actual test: work out the question on scratch paper and then move on.

for number 10 i crossed bultiplied 10 by 4 and then 800 by one, divided 800 by 40 and got the same answer. i put them into a proportion as i learned in your proportioning video!

Good luck! Just keep in mind that, to validate the test, they will sometimes randomly roll you into the full version of the test. If that happens, you have an opportunity to score even higher!

I've covered just about everything you need. Apart from taking practice tests, you also have to memorize those formulas in my reference sheet.
Durring the test, are we allow to draw our own multiplication table on a sheet of paper?

I strongly believe that you really should memorize your times tables as well as the formulas in my reference sheet to do well on the test.
But yes, they will provide you with scratch paper during the test, and you can write whatever you want on it.

When you need to find the sum of the item price and the sales tax of the good or total, I find it easier to multiply the good by the sales tax with a “the whole plus the percentage” unit- for example, [Item price: $32; sales tax: 2%- 32 x 1.02]. And that is correct.
You can do it either way, but my method works for harder problems.

If you look at the answer choices, 5.25 / 1.75 must equal one of them, and $3.00, which is the first one I tried, worked.

For Question 18. I'm confused I use the combine rate formula basically doing T/A + T/B =1 but of course I did it as T/A - T/B. Which I did was 40/12,000 - 20/10,000. got a LCD of 200/60,000 - 100/60,000 which lead to to get answer A of course. So yea anything I should watch out for so I don't think this or made that mistake come test time?

I was using the answer choices to do the division. Using the answer choices to help you do the calculations is a good test-taking strategy!
