  • In this episode of the Traditional Knives Anthology, a joint project with Steve at "Howabouthetruth," we look at the stunning and outstanding GEC SFO Diamond Jack by Charlie Campagna. Built on the #48 chassis, the Diamond Jack is a classic American jack knife, but adorned with design features and complexities which make it very special. Add to that the Northfield UN-X-LD level of fit and finish, and you've got yourself one special knife! Check it out, gang :)

That’s one of my favorite shields they’ve ever done.

Tony Bose has been my favorite knife maker since the early 2000s because he was bringing quality to the masses. Bill Howard is now top of my list for the same reason but even better.

Wow, your camera & lighting certainly does the knives justice my friend. That dog gone blade is so shiny, it's hard to capture w/o glare. Yes, these knives were produced in 2013. The dealers were saying 75 of each made, but the NEWLY released production totals for 2013 ( cool !!! ) indicate they only made 60 of the blood red. But they did make 75 of old tan bone. 40 of the single blade version. ( I busted out laughing the same time you did, after the "returning this one" comment, LOL. Oh what fun :) Hey Rob, try closing that main blade with the "under-slung" method.......music to the ears I tell ya. ( Uh-oh, I might not get this one back after all, LOL.) That was a wonderful video, thanks Brother. Blessings & Best Wishes to all on this Glorious Sunday.

Steve told me that you guys were doing this...and so I was very excited to see this. I have one of these in the Old Tan color. Beautiful knife. But then again, the 48 pattern rings my bell. Thanks for such a great video...in spite of the nasty cold! Peace!

That red colour handle material (I forget what you guys said it was?)is just beautiful, the corners where the red really shows through is stunning! And that main blade was a work of art! Thank you so much guys, really showing us something special

As far as 2 bladed patterns the #48 is my by far my favorite. It hits that sweet spot on size and the GEC #48 is perfectly dressed up.
Yes, you stole the words out of my mouth on GEC needing to pride themselves on their main blade grinds. Look also at the design of their hawkbills. They don't have to brag because all their customers do it for them : )
    Beautiful 48, great review!!

Thanks, buddy :). This one is hard not to gush about. It's just sooooo pretty!!! Also, the pull weight is just perfect -- firm enough that you know it's there, but in no way a fingernail ripper. It might be my favorite traditional dress knife... and I don't have one... discipline, discipline...

Do you mean celluloid? The material for the handles on this knife is cow bone. But that glossy deep red color sure looks like it could be celluloid.

Yes you can. Just give the retailer my shipping info, which can be found in my Sharpening Service video description, and you can avoid an additional shipping charge. You can send me the fee by PayPal, which is the email address in that same video description.
