Look up Dodentocht, it's a 100 km march through Belgium with more than 10000 people and there is plenty of people cheering along the walk and pit stops with food and drinks 👍
I do 24h challenge 2-3 times each year it's very fun but we try to do that on durt road or in the wood. It's way less painful. The next summer I plan a 48h challenge. It will be a big challenge for me !
One of the worst things you can do when walking long distances is not taking breaks. It's a common rookie mistake. In the military they take 5-10 min break every hour, at first that might seem unnecessary, but believe you me, when you walk 100-150-200 km, those breaks really adds up. Its about giving the body rest, before it's completely worn out. It's also very helpful to lie down and elevate your legs. THe 100 km is definitely impressive, big congrats :)
It's best not to stop for breaks to be honest . Once you stop that's when you start getting pains and stiffness . If you do need to stop make it less than 30 seconds if possible . I have done several 24 hr walks . Last wk I did the Hadrian wall path
Great video and achievement at walking 😎 In this last 14 days I managed to do 25 km walk (without breaks for eating and drinking). Besides it wanted to complete 50 km, 75 and 100 km in the same style as 25 km. Unfortunately during 50 km walk I felt that my right feet hurt, like there was blisters on it, so I decided to cut walk short and get back home. I'll get back to attempting to complete these 3 lenghts later on this year or next year, but this time better prepared by using specialized anti-blister socks.
Last year I did 152 km in 3 days. in a few weeks I will attempt 225 km in six days through Belgium wit 4 x 40 and 2 x 30 ish kilometers. With the chalenge of the back to back to back part. I'm scared but i've been training and dit two back to back marathon walks I try to put on new soks every 15km and use vaseline on my feat and it helps with blisters. Beceause Blisters is what brakes you. Verry inspiring video. Maybe I attempt a 100 k walk next year.
Congrats to get the 100k done. And from personal experience I can tell it´s harder to make it in 24hrs than in 20hrs or less. Finally it´s the time on the trail which is killing the mind and the joints. My longest hike was a 26hrs solo with 120km. Trying to beat myself failed. So far. Curious, if you will try it again. Subscibed.
Yeah, pushing to the 24 hours is brutal. Last winter I did a thirty-one hour bike ride (no sleep) and the Goggins Challenge. Now I'm thinking about doing another attempt this winter - maybe actually use shops along the way this time so I don't have to carry as much weight. 26 hours for 120km is insane bro.
For anyone else that wants to do this or maybe a bit shorter: Pack light. Pack water. Pack snacks (bars/chocolate not coke). That's it. Starting out with 16 kg is overkill to say the least. without not counting water you should not carry more than 1kg.
Wow really interesting challenges man! Congrats on the 100 km! What motivates you to do these things? And how do you keep you mind calm/busy on a trip like that? When I'm doing solo trips I sometimes have a hard time "entertaining" myself, like, what to think about, and how to keep calm and not worry about whatever.
That was awsome ! Why not try snd do a physical feat and raise money for a good cause? Thats what im planning on for next year 👍 def took some tips from this

Just discovered your vlog. I used to walk long distance when I was working in the city. What brand of shoes are you using? Are you using a running trail shoes?
The longest I’ve ever purposely walked was about 3 1/2 to 4 hours. At least that I can remember. This is nuts man but I very much enjoyed watching it. It is inspiring and it makes me want to do maybe an eight hour walk. I know my feet would be dead afterwards.
I built up to this with a 10km, half-marathon (21km) and marathon (42km) walk in the weeks leading up to it just so my legs (and mind) had some sort of adaptation and warm-up haha! You could probably get a marathon done in about 8 hours!
Hi , great effort! I’ve ran 24 hours 10 years ago, but now aged 62 I’m planning a 24 hour walk next month, what was your daily / weekly average step count leading up to this ?
Not sure about step count but I slowly worked-up with some weighted fast walks. Built up to a double-marathon distance before attempting this over the course of 6 months or so. Hope it went well for you again!
