Awesome! You chaps need a V2 channel so we can watch the aftermath of how your legs are. We need bonus content. Favourite youtube channel right now. Thanks guys. Your pain is our entertainment
Ive just watched nearly 20 minutes about two blokes going for a walk. The highlights were the bit where they saw some swans and when they didn’t go into a Travelodge. This channel has no right to be this entertaining!
What's random about it? They decide to try to do something and try to do it. They succeed or don't. One of two possible outcomes. It's not random in the least.
Was honestly worried when they started this channel. Couldn’t work out if the lack of focus’d topic (I.e cars) would work. But there is a focus, the Boys! Really enjoying all these daft challenges.
I tried the Thames Path Challenge this year. 100km from Putney Bridge to Henley-on-Thames in 24 hours. I made it to the half-way point at Runnymede in 12 hours. I gave up at that point, my boots were broken and so was my spirit. I couldn't face walking through the night. Well done for carrying on. The Long Distance Walkers' Association does a 100 mile walk every year. Just in case you fancy it...
As a postie who walks 12 miles a day the key to keeping your feet from killing you are insoles. Not shoes or socks but insoles. Proper walking/hiking insoles. they will save you so much pain. My current faves are Sorbothane Cush N Step. Can be had for less than £12! But awesome effort here guys, that has taken some guts.
Or wearing shoes designed for walking AKA walking shoes. Brooks makes good shoes with the technology built into the outer part of the soles. It's what I got to wear for my flat feet or else I am in pain from standing or walking.
postie here too. 46 miles is insane. but yeah shoes are key, hiking shoes are not great when walking on the pavement and they're too heavy. you can get insole liners too. Keep the weight off your legs and on your body.
“Why didn’t we do this in Florida” Here’s some reasons not to from a Floridian: 1. It rains all the time 2. It’s always hot 3. The lowest humidity on record since 1852 is 87% 4. You’ll most likely be shot or arrested by 6 hours in 5. Cute little alligators 6. Literally no sidewalks 7. Trucks bigger than Parliament 8. Hot 9. Humid 10. A new hurricane every week
The more I watch these two the more I realise how well they bounce off each other - Jack comes out with the Witty comments, Ethan genuinely caught off guard. Its brilliant! Jack definitely has that early 2000's Secondary School Humour and Im here for it - so glad you worked this spin off, Bravo
Ill be honest, when the channel started I thought the videos felt a little forced. You guys have really settled in now and just doing stuff that you want to do but more importantly, just being yourselves. It was a great video this one, couldn’t help but smile at the end with your relief. Keep up the good work guys!
Absolute breath of fresh air Lads. I was excited for another car channel when ye went out on ye’re own. I didn’t see this type of random content coming. Bravo guys 👏🏻
The world record for furthest distance walked in 24hrs is 142 miles by Jesse Castaneda in the USA, a guy who has multiple records/achievements in walking long distances. I would say walking a third of that is pretty incredible for two 'normal' guys 😂
That's wildly impressive to me. I've done a fair portion of hiking as I've been in the boy scouts through my youth. To earn the hiking merit badge, we had to hike 20 or more miles in one day and basically everyone who went developed a new issue that they'd never had before. For me, my knees have never been the same since then. Over longer spans of time, I've done around 80 miles worth of backpacking over the span of 14 days in the back country but that has included being loaded down with about a 50 lbs. backpack and when we'd get to camp, we would do camp activities beyond what the day had already beaten us with. By age 21 I had over 400 documented miles of hiking strictly within the boy scouts. I've said to old men who say I shouldn't ache in the ways that they do that having mountain climbing as a hobby is a really really really tough thing on your body.
I've done a fair few 24 hour and overnight bike races, I'm genuinely impressed with how you kept going just because you were still moving, it's a great mindset to make up for being totally unprepared! You guys know how to suffer, chapeau!
Massive respect to you both for doing this. I don't know what training you really did for this, but walking 24 hours is a real achievement. Thanks so much to you both for the inspiration.
Holy crap, it's amazing how you just continued. My longest walk was 42km (about 26 miles), and in the end I was using my umbrella as a crutch as my legs just hurt too much. When I got home I literally crawled in the shower on hands and knees because my feet hurt. Though, I am now training, so I'm hoping next year'll go better.
Loving this stuff, so much better than all the car stuff the others are doing that's getting all a bit repetitive and dull to be honest. Genius doing this stuff
Buy some Groms or Monkeys and take them up to Scotland, over to Ireland and back down through Wales and home. Make it a multi day epic trip!! Uhh I live in Florida... you do NOT want to do this walk at this time of year. 100 degrees and major thunderstorms every single afternoon. Winter time sure... Summer?? NOPE!
Yep. They're all pigs especially Rory. The only other skinny one I can think of is the dude that does the mechanics on auto alex, forgot his name but he's good, wish he had his own channel
There are now organized 100 km walks with a set route and a time limit of 24 hours. I think it helps and motivates enormously if you have a planned route - ideally with some defined exit points where you might catch a bus or hitch a ride every couple of hours. I just though which route I might try in the UK if I wanted to see how much I could manage in 24 hours, so I had my hiking app calculate a route from central Oxford to central London. It has the advantage of going slightly downhill much of the route and following the Grand Union Canal, which looks like the long and pretty undisturbed stretch of path you'd need. Plus, if you run out of energy or your blisters overcome you during the last hours, you're in London and not somewhere out in the sticks.
I've often done a 33km walk in Dublin along the Dodder and that's tough. Excellent performance when you didn't have the proper equipment and zero real training. Well done. Turning into one of my favourite channels on RUclips.
Tara Dower recently completed and set a new record for the Appalachian Trail which is 2,189 miles. She averaged 50 miles for 40 days straight. Seeing how knackered you was here really puts in to perspective!
Great channel - you can expect different content every time. From driving to kayaking thru the canals. Great work and great video again. Cant wait for the next one 😊
Congrats guys. I've personally got bored with the car channels constantly doing the same thing. I look forward to your vids now, such a refreshing approach. Keep it up!!

Absolutely bonkers the total distance covered, seriously epic effort Jack and Ethan! I bet your legs must have been burning up, proper troopers for carrying on in the morning and not binning the challenge when you got tired during the night.
I'm pretty sure at this point the sheer financial deprivation has stacked up to the point of Alex immenently getting raided for running a labour camp thinly veiled as a RUclips empire
You guys are Legends! All these low budget challenges and adventures are so much fun to watch. You inspire to get out and do something fun. I can't wait for new videos!😊
Y'know, when this launched I was expecting this to become just a car channel. It's become a very unique "the blokes found something goofy to try" channel instead and I love it.
the fact that you genuinely have no idea what will happen during the video is what makes it great to watch. Also, I'd guess you didn't drink nearly enough water.
You guys are talented, thats bloody impressive doing all that filming while walking, and still making a great video with lots of content in it. Keep it up
I once did a charity walk home from work, work was Canary wharf and home was Bedfordshire I think it was something like 57 miles I ended up doing, it took me about 32 hours, it was the single hardest thing I've ever done, I slept in a bush in st Alban's for about 3 Hours that was the only notable thing that happened on the entire trip, it was so boring and I couldn't walk for two days after, never again. Good on you lads
Thanks for the motivation. First proper dedicated walk with no purpose since braking my hip in January. 4miles, up and down, through mud etc. It was good. I don't envy your 24hr walk though. You should've ended in the city and gone out for beers 😀 Do that on the next one and we can all meet up. 👍
Enjoying the content guys, sad to see you leave CT but seeing you go solos made me realise, CT was you two, and Alex... Kids well put together and great entertainment. Cheers 😊
I love all the love budget videos :D And those trips to Japan and Iceland must have cost a fortune! I wish they would come up with more quirky ideas, like the canoe thing, only this time in a real canoe or paddleboat, driving through the UK with mopeds, cheapest flights to a beach, just all weird and entertaining stuff.
Nice, interesting concept fellas. Enjoyed the video. Guessed the right miles so feeling pleased. At first I thought '44 miles'. Then I saw how determined you seemed and I thought '48 miles'. So pretty much nailed it. Well done guys. I'll look out for further stuff from you.
Did a charity walk 8 years ago into London... 50 miles, took 18 hours... I know your pains, but feeling extra proud of both that time and distance. That said, it was trained for over 6 months. Well done gents!

Seemed like a good idea at the time😂
You 2 need to buy mopeds and do london to Edinburgh
50cc challenge would be fantastic
As mentioned 50cc mopeds and a budget to do a 70cc conversion with a few small mods. Will do 60mph plus.

Didn't think your budget could get any smaller, well played.
Next week- how long can we sit on concrete without taking a break
It was a bigger budget, but ulez took it just dropping them off
Well they did spend £5 each on a doughnut, and stopped for Nando's later.
Love this low budget content, so relatable, ignore the haters

I've always loved how funny Ethan finds Jack. I mean, he's a funny dude, but Ethan cracking up is still a joy.
No, Jack is a Joy!
Can you imagine any of the other AutoAlex metaverse characters putting up with these challenges? 😅 Somebody give Jack and Ethan a medal! 🏅

It'd be hilarious to have a All The Gear challenge with the AA and TDC hosts too

Guys , possible video idea, Budget camper build, then budget roadtrip ? Sticking to the budget and travel idea but with some motoring stuff also.
Great video. Not a BMW in sight what a breath of fresh air.
And no broken down cars either. Oh, wait, that was kind of redundant, I guess.
I got PTSD when the Z4 drove past at 17:03
Glad it's not just me. haha
“Why didn’t we do this in Florida”
Here’s some reasons not to from a Floridian:
1. It rains all the time
2. It’s always hot
3. The lowest humidity on record since 1852 is 87%
4. You’ll most likely be shot or arrested by 6 hours in
5. Cute little alligators
6. Literally no sidewalks
7. Trucks bigger than Parliament
8. Hot
9. Humid
10. A new hurricane every week
Definitely number 6 for me. Florida does not have 47 miles of continuous sidewalk for you to walk along. Mix it with number 7 and you be dead.
Trips to Iceland, car stuff, camping on a budget, a £1 budget and now a walking video?!
