Your maths definitely quantified your statement about gunsmiths and maths 😆
Thankfully, us armourer's are not as badly afflicted 😏
Love your videos mate. Thanks for sharing.

Have a T3X that had the exact same thing done locally wish more companies offered the twist rate. Sweet shooting an smooth working gun. Good job, good work

What chuck system is that to be able to dial in radial and angular runout?

This on is the Tru bore system. I actually am going away from it.
I’m moving to a design I built that holds the barrel more rigidly.
The true bore is a neat system but it really needs a spider of some sort to hold the barrel from whipping and flexing the chuck.
My lathe has to long of a headstock to do this.
      Thanks for watching

According to what you said you wanted 360+180 degrees you should have came up with 540 instead of 560 . Then you would have needed .09374 instead of the .0972 number you came up with. But I'm questioning the 180 degrees number which would have moved the 22=250 marking to the other side right below the stock line. I normally move mine 100 degrees which on a 16 tpi thread ends up being .0173 and puts the markings near dead bottom. If you needed another full thread to clean up the chamber you'd be looking about .080 total - 360 degrees @ 0.0625 plus 100 degrees @ 0.0173 = 0.07958 total. Keep up the good work though, love these videos, full of great ideas. And you may have figured all this out in the video, I posted these comments at the 5 min mark because I had to run out and finish doing a little work of my own.

      😂😂😂😂
I said I suck at math you were warned!
But that error may help the algorithm in the end.
The 180 rotation completely hides all the factory markings below. You will see at the end of the video.

Glad it all turned out great. And to be honest, I had forgotten about Tikka having writing on both the left and right hand sections of the factory barrels showing above the stock line, so you are definitely right about needing to flip it completely 180 to bury everything. Keep up the great work.

first off love these smith videos.
there is a simpler way for the maths.
    0.0625 = 360 deg.
    so 0.03125 = 180n Deg.
then you need 360 deg plus 180 deg to time. = 1 and 1/2 revs.
    then all you needed to do is add 0.0625 ( 1 Rev ) + 0.03125 ( 1/2 Rev ) = 0.09375
Your way is perfect if you need to rotate say 20 or 30 Deg, but for full and half turns just keep the maths simple.
    Hope this may help..

My question is what does this 22 creedmoor realistically provide over simply AI-ing the original 22-250 chamber, as this would allow the use of regular 22-250 as well? My stock Tika 1-8 22-250 is deadly with heavies out to 600-650 on yotes, pigs and deer. Enjoyed your video.

      @@DustinDrews1 so for $400 youll turn a 22-250 into a 22 creed?
