Amazing video. I'm a home hobby garage gunsmith learning manual lathes and this just blows my mind. I 3D print so that's about as far as I've gotten with G Code (Which isn't much). You do amazing work. Looking forward to more videos.

Glad it was helpful! The only difference between cnc and manual is the cnc does the fun stuff for you.
You can do the same processes on a manual machine.
If I ever get a big shop I will buy a manual machine for doing videos

29:25 looks like the chuck is turning clockwise and the trubore is turning counterclockwise.

I love that everyone is making 22 creedmoor's! Leaves more 6 creedmoor ammo on the shelf for me! 😂

Well detailed process, I've appreciated the detail and thoroughness. Where did you find the long indicator arm and did it take any special adaptation to mount to the interapid?

Long Island indicator. No just get the one with heavy springs

    Dustin.
    Nice job!
    2 questions if you please…
What barrel blanks are your “ go to”when building up a project.
Next question… why no “cats paw” to align bore true to center?
That precision true 6 jaw have more adjustment than normal to align the bore? What am I missing there?
    Best to you.

I build with whatever the customer wants. But most of the barrels I use are Wilson Arms.
They have proven over and over to satisfy out customers expectations.
The truebore chuck does everything a cats paw
Does and more. With no chance of bending the barrel.

Hey Dustin, have you ever had the barrel slip in the aluminum bushing? Do you use any rosin inside of them? I’ve cut a few tapered bushings and indicated them in. After cutting threading or reaming it’s got .0008-.0015 runout. Appreciate the detailed videos, nice work.

Without knowing your set up. I would guess your run out is coming from not boring your chamber square to the bore of the barrel.
Tapered bushings don’t move in the true bore system

Where can I get one of those brown and sharp indicators you use with the 5 in stylus??

How long does it take you the thread chamber contour headspace and crown a barrel

If I have the programs all
Written I can do about 3 a day.

If I have the programs written I can do 2 rifles a day. But I don’t do production stuff. All my stuff is upon request.
      More fun that way
