I bought the 2018 Clarity Touring, have to say the best investment ever. This car for its interior size and mileage it gets overall, its just amazing. It could def use tech upgrades but this is the most practical car out there to date.

Take a fridge magnet to the car to determine how much is aluminum, something that does not rust, and plastic parts as well.

Thanks for the Honda Clarity videos. sad to see it go, but yeah your videos definitely help me inform my purchase before I got my Clarity and I love it. Hope you make more videos on your new Tesla’s!

I had been seriously looking at the Clarity, but also really wanting a Y. You made an excellent point about the fact that the Clarity won't be supported by Honda for long. I'll have to wait til I can afford a Tesla.

Gas prices went up to over $4.29/gallon in Indiana this week. That was the first time in my life I've seen 4 price increases in a week at the pump. I took a 65 mile trip yesterday and averaged 153 miles per gallon. I'm retired, so most of my driving is less than 50 miles per day. I have driven the Clarity for as long as two months without adding a single drop of gas. My Clarity is GOLD.

Two years ago I bought the base clarity model 2018. It had 37,000 km (23,000 km).

Looking at a white Clarity tomorrow, 24k for a 2018 w/ 23k miles. I'm confident everything is in working order, I'm just bummed that in these times negotiations are essentially off the table with the lack of inventory.

Seems really weird that they would discontinue it because it's the most affordable plug-in with a good range beating the Ford Escape on price and range, like solid entry level PHEV for those that can't afford a good BEV.

For the rear wheel wells, do you feel they are more prone to rust (salted roads in the winters)? I'm asking because the wheel wells are not open like normal cars..

Just bought an 2018 yesterday. It was a corporate lease and due to covid didn't get driven. So I got it with 917 miles on it .... I live in Washington state and can't wait to not put gas in it

Do you think folks should have any concerns about having a Clarity PHEV maintained at Honda dealers due to it being discontinued? They didn't make many of these right? Will it be hard to get parts for them? Can any dealership service center do the work on this car or will only some locations be able to work on these?

I placed an order for a 2019 Clarity and was told that there’s only one key and no charger. I’m trying to figure out how it is supposed to come.

  • @michaeldowning7094

Does it share the engine similar to the Honda Fit ?

Dude! I’m taking a look at two clarities this morning. Even though apparently the infotainment is like Nintendo 64. But this video has convinced me not to look at them. And give up on it like you have because you’re right. Parts for it probably won’t stay available and Honda? seems like they treat it like the red headed step child. Apologies to red headed step children. I don’t mean to offend. The Tesla, I was looking at the model threes this morning after or while I was listening to your video. They are about $50,000 in my neck of the woods. Or better. I guess spending an extra 15,000 is kind of worth it. But I would suffer from electric anxiety. I want to watch a few more of your videos. I really enjoyed this one and you saves me, I think. What occurs to me. Because I never got the chance. :-(

I traded in my 2020 Clarity 4 weeks ago for 2 reasons. I was sick of driving without A/C for many weeks (busted condenser) and would have to wait some more because the part is on back order, and since Honda discontinued the model i think the Clarity's resale value is gonna go way down. Maybe not in the months to come because of the chip shortage but in 2-3 years it will be bad. So now i'm back in a regular gas car and i'm waiting for some EV's to come to market (Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, Volkswagen ID4). The ID4 has not made it yet to Canada. I will keep on following you just the same. Enjoy your Teslas!

Have a clarity in the fleet. I also reserved for an Aptera. It will replace my 4runner since my monthly gas will equal the payment.

Bought a 2019 new, just hit 60k miles :/. Live in Cali a lot of highway miles. No issues (knock on wood) regular oil changes thus far. I charge for free at work :) get gas maybe once a month if that. Only regret if I could do it over would be to get the base model. Never use the GPS, got the $7500 back. So no complaints.
