“Mirabel is a really funny, loving character who also deeply yearns for something more,” says Beatriz. “She’s also not afraid to stand up for what she knows is right-something I love and relate to very much.
“I’m Colombian on my father’s side, and playing this role fills me with immense pride,” continues Beatriz. “As a Disney kid, I’d burn through my VHS tapes and adored every single magical story that the world of Disney introduced me to. I learned in those that stories that anything is possible, especially if you believe in magic and the goodness rooted deep inside us all.”
In the film, the magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift from super strength to the power to heal-every child except one, Mirabel. But when she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is in danger, Mirabel decides that she, the only ordinary Madrigal, might just be her exceptional family’s last hope. The voice cast also includes María Cecilia Botero, Wilmer Valderrama, Adassa, Diane Guerrero, Mauro Castillo, Angie Cepeda, Jessica Darrow, Rhenzy Feliz and Carolina Gaitan.
The new trailer includes an original song from the film, “Colombia, Mi Encanto,” performed by 17-time GRAMMY® and Latin GRAMMY winner, singer, songwriter and actor Carlos Vives, who’s a native of Santa Marta, Colombia. “This song is a celebration of the magical diversity of Colombia,” says Vives. “I can’t wait to see how the music will blend with the images and the characters inspired by the ‘encanto’ of Colombians.”
The film features all-new songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda (“Hamilton,” “Moana”) and is directed by Byron Howard (“Zootopia,” “Tangled”) and Jared Bush (co-director “Zootopia”), co-directed by Charise Castro Smith (writer “The Death of Eva Sofia Valdez”) and produced by Clark Spencer and Yvett Merino. Bush and Castro Smith are screenwriters on the film. The filmmakers were deeply inspired by their research trip to Colombia during early development of “Encanto,” as well as their continuous work with a group of expert consultants assembled through the course of the film’s production. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Encanto” opens in cinemas November 26, 2021.

when i first saw isabela i thought she was going to be kind and quiet and sweet since thats what flowers are usually associated with (or at least that’s what i usually associate them with) so i was extremely surprised when i saw this clip but i still love her sm

You know, Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil (even though their language is Portuguese their location makes them part of Latin America therefore Latinos, not hispanics.) and now Colombia. Really subtle but notice that Isa didn't hit Mira with her hair on purpose. You can see she had her eyes closed until her hair hit Mira.
She seemed to be trying to do a "perfect" hair flip (one of her perfect poses), but that was "ruined" by Mira being "in the way," which is probably why she told Mira that.
And then notice that eye-roll she gives just before speaking, like this (ruining Isa's perfect facade) is smt Mira is always doing.
Also notice that Mira quickly (or tries to) retorts back she's the one helping and that _Isa_ is the one in the way after Isa said it, despite Isa having just provide the flowers Pepa and Felix needed. Isa also just as quickly scoffs and walks off before hearing her out.
This dismissiveness is mirrored in Mira too, with her open disdain for Isa's theatric entrance (along with talking sarcastically abt her to ppl behind her back--the primadonna and senorita perfecta comments).
I just like how it's these small things in the beginning that quickly paint the background narrative of how both Mira and Isa were long-time antagonistic towards each other, and both were misunderstanding and unwilling to try to understand the others' perspective until their song together.
Such small details to deliver so much backstory was geniusly done. We didn't need a whole exposition dump to clearly see where the cracks in their relationship were.

The flowers are decorations for Antonio’s gift ceremony, which Isabela definitely made. As she said “my baby’s night has to be perfect” so the abundance of decorations probably made her feel better. I haven’t watched the movie yet, but I can already tell she loves her kids and wants nothing more then to make sure everything for them is perfect
She was initially freaking out likely because she was concerned for Antonio's ceremony since the last one (Mirabel's) failed but relieved because Isabela could fix the mess she just made (the weather even clears and the sun starts shining on Isabela so clearly Pepa was very happy to see her 😂😂)

Funnily enough I got an ad for flowers before this video started.
I loved this movie. This was a great and interesting movie.
The only thing I didn't like about it was that just because marabelle didn't have a gift. She couldn't take part in Antonio's gift ceremony and be in the picture with them or honestly be in any picture. She always had to stand on the side like she didn't exist. And of course, it seems like some of her siblings disliked her a little bit, mostly Isabella.
No wonder that isabela is called señorita perfecta because she is really perfect and really pretty so no wonder
