smoothest end card transition i've ever seen (with the recommended video that pops up. usually they are out of place and block the last 30ish seconds of a video. this one syncs with the voiceover and background in a satisfying way)
I feel like a lot of people dont know this. But thats actually not a softlock. There is a npc in the pokecenter who gives you a tentacool with surf so its not actually a solftlock

I thought as well that you’d get a tentacool with surfer if you’d have softlocked yourself. I mean this "trick" is pretty obvious. Can’t believe the developers didn’t learn from gen 1+2.
Even if that were the case, you could get the mon and then release it.
I'm not sure how exactly this came to be, but... so, everyone has a patience timer, right? That amount of time they can handle waiting before an anticipated experience. Simply using "Patience is a virtue!" My Grandma managed to not only increase the overall amount of time I was capable of waiting, but also, somehow, ingrained a "reset patience timer" button, activated by the very phrase, "patience is a virtue!" XD
If I'm ever getting impatient, literally just say that and I will immediately chill and be ready to wait all over again, as if I haven't been waiting at all... once or twice... if I still have to wait at that point, my timer will start getting shorter when reset, until I eventually run out of patience entirely. This has never happened, though I have had the timer get shorter once or twice. I think I was waiting something like 3 hours? For what I was expecting to take 10 minutes?
RNG manipulation can do a whole lot of things.
Like guaranteed shinies.
Also use a frame timer jesus christ.

Geometry dash players would probably be really good at this, some of the hardest levels have over 200 60fps frame perfects (although most pros play on 360fps as the physics in gd allow more fps to have less input delay and more accurate movements)
I mean probably but like geometry dash still has some visual cues on when to click. I feel like that would be the problem to get it down, but if they learn a particular visual cue on when to click for the perfect mudkip, I think yeah probably a better chance to really optimise it consistently

Yup, I can definitely see Freezai as an "Akshually" guy... Also akshually, the best nature is +attack and -defense/special defense because you want to outspeed the most amount of things and deal the most amount of damage in a speedrun🤓. It's game dependant, like Adamant drilbur/lillipup, Modest Empoleon/Raikou, Naughty/Rash Tepig, Naughty infernape... you get the point.

the mudkip track actually isn't a "manual track". they haven't calculated every pokemon frame manually that's an algorithm who does that so. and it's not only for mudkip, all static pokemons uses the same "table" so the hit frame will determine the nature and all stuff and not the actually pokemon u choose
and these steps like save 1 tile away is just to not need to put timer
rng starts same time game starts so this is just a way to "standardize" the tries.
btw I know that was a short explanation cause rng is too much informative but is good to let ppl now these fun things about pokemon games (rng works in multiple games so u can try urself get ur shinies)

Wait why does saving one tile away and needing to mash the title screen frame perfectly correlate to the Mudkip manipulation? Do the frames start counting as soon as you boot up the game?
They actually didn’t “track” or record the frames for each Mudkip. These frames are actually something called seeds and a simple data mine can tell you all possible seeds and every outcome associated with them. So someone probably just extracted the data and compiled a list of all possible Mudkip seeds.

I thought that ruby/sapphire rng was only consistent when the battery clock is dead. Emerald doesn't seed the rng off the clock so its more consistent. Also isnt rng for pokemon based on your trainer id too? So this naughty nature mudkip is only valid for the one save file youre refering to yeah? Would a different trainer id and different clock time have potential for a faster better mudkip? Or was this 10k mudkip search taking that into consideration?

I love speedruns and such things and the people doing those are really impressive . But just for my Interest would teleporting to Dewford count as a softlock ? .. i mean you can fish for Tentacool there which can learn surf . And you get that HM by default when you have the 4th badge
Cool video. I think most people would prefer the rest of the run included in this video. My interest and attention was there until the very end but the abrupt ending makes me lose interesting in following up with the rest of the run in a different video. If it finished out, I'd be interested in watching more runs to see what other tricks you pull. Just my perspective tho

yea if ruby/sapphire have a working battery, it's complete RNG, you can't RNG manipulate this

If you're soft locked at the 2nd gym, can't you just catch a magikarp, level it up, and then teach it surf?
Only if you got the HM for it already which requires beating the 5th gym. Since the teleport to Dewford is after the 4th gym you don't have the HM for it yet (and wouldn't be able to use Surf outside of battle even if you did have it)

i used to speed run this pokemon when i was 8, back on 2008... It took me 10-15hrs to finish and i was playing in game boy advance with no backlit.. good old days... i remeber always to make sure to bring a wobuffet to counter the 7th gym "destiny bond"😂 cause I like going with torchic so 7th gym is always the problem to me when i was little.
i thought the RNG manipulation is only for Fire Red and Leaf Green hmmm I mean I use it for shiny starter

yes and no. That's kind of what people do with TAS. But also the fastest possible time hinges on knowing all the right strats to achieve that time. There are still a lot of strategies left to discover and then you have to wonder if those are even humanly possible. There are some TASes out there that are technically the fastest possible time but not actually possible due to having to do inouts that are pretty much impossible. Say a sequence of like 30 consecutive frame perfect inputs just going left and right.
