I wanted to wait until after I saw The Last Five Years today (Jan. 24) to watch this as I wanted to wait and see it live and in person first and I'm glad I did. It was incredible to watch live and I think I love it more now that I can watch at home. Amazing job Evynne and Nathan.

Absolutely fantastic! Hearing you live was such a blessing, Evynne! This song is so powerful and you deliver it at top notch quality. I especially love the bridge where it goes into all those interesting chords... and the key change!
And as always Nathan is fantastic with his pianistic abilities, especially the part that's normally a string trio but he played it as a piano solo! Talk about difficult!

your voice and emotional interpretation is always terrific, this is no exception. I always liked doing recordings in one take, sometimes the little imperfections make a recording easier for the audience to connect with. Of course if there was an imperfection in this performance I was to captivated to notice. Just one more thing when you teased us about the up coming video I was really hoping we were going to see Ashland and Rainy. Thank you for doing this terrific work.

So while I've never seen _The Last Five Years_, I can guess that this song is about a woman singing about how the one who used to love her has lost his love for her and left her behind. Which means it doesn't actually fit what I'm going to talk about next, but I can't help connecting them . . .
A friend of mine recently committed suicide, and when I saw the link to "Still Hurting" I couldn't help clicking on it because the name sounded like something that might apply. And oddly enough the lyrics really do kind of fit. Just in a different interpretation than what the song was originally written for. Basically, now I'm crying. :'(
