I love Lea's advice -"Don't fill the performance with junk" because her voice is beautiful already and she improved a lot after Lea's comment. I feel her (Libby).. She really put her heart into the song. Felt like hugging Libby. Kudos to Lea and Libby you'll go places.
Libby totally rocks on this piece! Her adjustments really were incredible and I was so proud of her ability to take Lea's critique and turn it into something amazing is truly inspiring. Bravo Libby!
sorry to be so off topic but does anyone know a tool to log back into an Instagram account? I stupidly forgot my account password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me.
@Daniel Mathew thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Woah she really took Lea's advice and she sang it the 2nd time with more emotions, like Lea said. Put yourself in the song, relate/connect to it, and singing it will be easier. She kept it simple and wow , this girl has a nice set of PIPES. She killed it! Good job Libby
Bravo Libby! Lea was right. the second version was a lot better. Libby knows how to listen. Her voice is beautiful enough to carry the song. Bravo girl! Beautifully sung the song.
I’ve watched Lea’s rehearsal RUclips of this song several times and just stumbled across Rachel Ziegler’s version of it. Rachel has a prodigious voice but I didn’t feel the pain and heartbreak like I did with Ms. Salonga. This masterclass session just underscores her skill as an artist after 30 years in the business.
She did such a good job and Lea's advice really helped her! Props to Libby for being brave enough to do this, these masterclass things are fucking terrifying
8:46 I totally understand what Lea is saying here, but WHOA...must be quite a struggle for that singer / actor. To express the emotion of a song brutally and honestly (shortest distance between two points is a straight line), conveying that emotion convincingly to your audience, but without marring your performance by being personally affected by it...
Thebest rendition of "still hurting" by Lea Salonga. Take note that's only the rehearsal ruclips.net/video/xSYtZRMFozc/видео.html .. I somehow feel her pain. And that's a gift to make the audience feel what the song is all about accompanied by a stunning/strong vocals.
The impact you caused in my life is greater than THE Big Bang theory. You helped me to view life in a new and awesome perspective! In short, thanks for always keeping me INSPIRED! ;')
The change in the performance is impressive. I was so moved by her second rendition. Shocked actually. I wish that Lea would have given her a little more affirmation. This young woman is very talented.
....soo enjoyable...! I miss hearing and getting, all of "the everything" offered up here, all of it... and such clear, precise and useful performance tips and advice!...wow, so great!!
And that's why when you her Lea sing, you can hear the emotion come through the song! I don't think she could have given her any advice more succinctly
after I saw this class, I found Lea's version: ruclips.net/video/xSYtZRMFozc/видео.html just raw pain, that's exactly what she said, straightforward, no junk
Regine tells stories through songs differently though. Interpretation of songs doesn't have to follow a one-size-fits-all standard. That's exactly what Lea is talking about here - interpret the song the way you imagine an emotion or situation affects you.

@Daniel Mathew it did the trick and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thank you so much you saved my ass !
@Arjun Lawson glad I could help xD
Libby is so fortunate. And yeah Lea is correct, the more it is direct and simple the more effective it is. I can see the difference.

As a teacher, I watching Lea lead her pupil to the realization, and she gets the art of it so well.
They're so fortunate to be able to show her their abilities. Oh, how I love you Lea!!!!!!!!

amazing performance from a student who listened very well.

Her advice to Libby is priceless! This is after all a "Master Class".

So, I thought she was impressive the first time, but that second time I kept getting chills, and as the chills subsided they came back.

the second time she sang i almost cried. good job! she really took lea's advice
i can sum up lea's advice in this video with a single tagalog word "hugot"
sgtjoe2008 more like internalization of the song, that's more like it.
To sum it all up, here is Ms. Lea's way tp do it just right.

@Jaime Armani Jaime at it again.
@@criscortez9376 I spat my water😭
Kudos to the students for being teachable! They take Lea’s advice and improve instantly.
Cried the second time she sang the song.

Ms. Lea is so good...
Girl's got nice voice!
The change in the performance is impressive. I was so moved by her second rendition. Shocked actually. I wish that Lea would have given her a little more affirmation. This young woman is very talented.
Bravo, Libby!
I got chills the second time she sung it. Her advice really works
I cried omg
omgggg the fact that Lea Salonga knows Anna Kendrick... awww both of them are my favorite theater performer in the world.
Wow, sing this good at this age !
Well done Libby for taking in Lea's input well and applying it magnificently. Can't wait to see your future performances!

Wow
Wow-
I like her whispers a lot more. They are more pleasing to hear and are full of emotions
Seriously, the advice works... :)
Lea is incredible!!! I'm proud to be Filipino!
comments like this are embarrassing tho 🤦♂️
Stop that crap
I'm a Filipino but please stop. It's annoying, actually.

i was watching this for my class but i heard jeremy jordan nad i freakaed out
I thought that was Matt Lucas on the piano. I was wrong.
STUDENT: Go and Hide (Ok. I think I'm doing great!) and Run awaa...
LEA: Can I like Stop you for 2 seconds?
STUDENT: OH SHIT! 😂🤣😅

Regine Velasquez, who constantly oversings her songs, needs to learn these pointers from Lea Salonga.
Right
no... bias
bitter

Liam Gekzua Who’d be bitter about that jobless has-been? 😄
I wish Lea was warmer.
pevitzachast haha well i guess the shortest distance between two points is a line
