The original anime was a real gem! I still remember how i felt when our main character had to kill his father. This show was too slept on. I had to go to the internet just to watch its episodes again.
I love the Guyver!!! The anime from 2005 stuck surprisingly close to the original. I own the 2 anime and the 2 terrible movies. So you know I'm a fan too!!!😂 I heard a new movie is coming.
One of the best animes it was the first one to introduce me to that world, I had no idea animes could get to that level of violence and it got crazy at times
My first hyper violent anime I rented from Blockbuster at age 6 or so. I will always love that original series. Also that was Steve Blums first anime role as Guyver 3 and several zoanoids. Thanks for posting this.
Me too! From blockbuster no less haha, I was a lifelong fan from that moment. I don’t think my probably 3rd grade brain could handle the hyper violence of the anime haha. glad to see it had an impact on someone else in the same way
I still remember as a kid when SyFy would play Guyver 2 on repeat for an entire weekend. I had to wait for the folks to crawl to bed before I could get my fanboy on, He has been my favorite hero since then.
I am huge Guyver fan, every since i was a kid watching the 80s anime on TV. It is truly one of the best manga and anime till this day! This was a amazing in-depth and informative video, hope more people will get into the Guyver franchise.
HELL YEAH!!! Clicked as soon as I saw the Marvelous Control Metaled Hero! Guyver was a popular staple to Blockbuster Videos " Japanamation" section way back in the day!! It too, is a long running Manga series with 2 anime adaptations and a 2 Live Action movies( 2nd being tue best!)!! Man I love this series!!!
I've loved the Guyver franchise since 90 or 91. I have every single anime and manga. I only have the Guyver 1 and 3 figures, but they're the original release from back then
I totally enjoyed and loved Guyver 1and 3! They are truly awesome and a force to be reckoned with! PS, Please let those Guyver Heroes have a fusion upgrade modes to reunite with each other and team up with other crossover metal heroes in all new anime series or low budget Syfy 3d movies! It will be epic and exciting thrill ride for our fans to enjoy! Take Care and Be Inspired, Anime Metal Heroes! WF-😎🤩😍😉✌️👌

@@warrenferguson5174 that would be awesome! I've been hoping after I saw Guyver: Dark Hero when it came out that at some point we would get big live action movie with a budget big enough to do the franchise justice
I really want them to finish the story in anime. This was so ahead of it's time. I used to sing the intro song everywhere as a kid. I had people really thinking I knew Japanese. Lol. Good times.
I have been waiting for you guys to do a video on Guyver. I love this character. I remember seeing the first movie. I really love Guyver 2 Dark Hero. The fight scenes in that movie are excellent. Thanks for making this video.
Bio Boosted Armor Guyver, Bastard!!! And Berserk are still my 3 favorite 80s Long running Manga that all have heavily detailed art, and fantastic stories!
YES YES YES YES YES YES AND YES AGAIN!!! About time, the Guyver is my 💩!!!! Side note: that's Solid Snake from the Metal Gear Solid franchise as the lead in the sequel.
Man I loved this series, I grew up on the Screaming Mad George movies and loved the anime when I finally grabbed up the anime. One of these days I’ll track down the graphic novels but I still wish that bad ass mid 00’s anime was continued, me and my buddies bought up every copy when they dropped!
The 1989 Guyver anime is my favourite old school anime and even though street fighter and first of the North Star got me into anime but Guyver will be #1 in my book. What I liked about Guyver is the theme around obtaining power and the consequences that comes with it as well as secret organisations control the world from the shadows and the origins of humanity.
For whatever you feel about the movie it is undoubtable that the live-action Guyver suit was amazing for its time and budget. I only wish the adaptations could get over the time jump, its actually a very long manga and the adaptations are an alternate ending. In the manga they actually lost. Very badly. World changingly badly. I think a new adaptation should start from there and then tell the backstory.
I for one Love Guyver and even Role played as him in Big eyes small mouth. The Funniest thing is I think the Guyver movies where the best anima turned live action made and even you do not say it was number 1 I bet it would still rank top 5.
@@SunGawdRa Don’t think it’s Devilman levels of bad, but yeah, they lost and Cronos took over the world. But the fact they’re still fighting later on shows it’s not over yet, unlike Devilman where everyone dies and the world constantly restarts.
Sho: W-Who is that? The Former head of Chronos Japan...until three days ago that is. And it's all your Fault Guyver! Sho: What do you mean?! And now I'm here to Destroy you as you have destroyed Me for I am ENZYME!!! Sho: GUYVER!!!
I love both the live action and the anime of The Guyver! The anime had really cool monster designs for the Zoanoids back in the late 80's and early 90's. Too bad that the anime wasn't as popular as Dragonball Z, Naruto, Yugioh, Pokemon, One Piece, or any other anime ☹!
Guyver is one of my favourite Mangas and Anime.... I used to have the original VHS collection I got from HMV. I also have the remastered version. But going back to the films, I always felt Guyver Dark Hero was the better of the two.
I first found out about this a couple decades ago when the live action movies were on the Sci fi channel. It looked dumb on a glance but after I watched it a bit I started to really like it. Bear in mind I'm not saying the movies are great or anything, alot of things I look back on have a massive nostalgia shader on them but I did get really interested by the concept but now I gotta look into the other forms of media for it
The original anime was my first anime and the 2005 series is my favorite. I like Guyver 2 Dark Hero as well, but I despise the first movie. This is why I love anime and manga!!
I love the Guyver. For me there is no better anime/manga. My only regret is that it's not completed. Due to legal reasons I don't know that it will ever truly be finished. I have the original and the 2005 remake. I have to say that the original is definitely my favorite but I like that the 2005 takes the story further into the Arkanfel saga and then ends on the cliff hanger with the Gigantic Guver. But either way such a great story.
They need to remake this, or turn it in to a movie trilogy, or better yet a sand box action game in the likes of Spider-Man or infamous. This series is so cool and rich with story and lore.
Guyver out of control just hits harder than Bio boosted armor remake. The tone the nightmarish events and the music amplified the anxiety. Maybe I'm just a nostalgic anime fan...blame Gatchaman.
The Guyver sequel, Dark Hero got into this series. I would later discover anime in the mid 90s and found out how much more awedome Guyver actually was. Then I collected the comics when a comic book store opened in my town. I've been a huge fan of Guyver ever since. My highschool books are littered with drawings of Guyver 1 slaying zoanoids.
It's been 10 years since I first discovered and watch the Guyver in movies and anime. Guyver was my favorite sci-fi action icon. I'd love to see a theatrical revamp movie about him, if they consider it.
Oh wow. This was the first anime I ever saw! In 1998 my mom's friend had a video rental store that closed and we got a bunch of VHS tapes. I got me 6 tapes of basically a power ranger that killed his enemies in tons of gore, and i saw tons of anime titties. That was the day I became an anime fan. I also had 5 tapes of Ranma 1/2, another classic that shaped my childhood.
Now these are one of the reasons why I always wanted to use the bio boosted armor known as the guyver unit because of its origins which means I just can't wait to use that if I'm going to fight crime
Crazy thing guyver was the first hero/vigilante that I lived before marvel, I didn’t see any of the anime’s until this year when I brought the one in 05. The anime series proved that it should of definitely went mainstream
The original Guyver series was the first Anime I ever saw back in the early 90s. My young mind was blown. It was violent , they cursed. it was as if someone granted my wish. Animation that wasn't for little kids..
Did they say no stars in the second movie? Sean was played by a young David Hayter. David Hayter has helped write quite a few films and, of course, is the original VA for Solid Snake and Big Boss
You can't go wrong with guyver or Werewolves as far as I'm concerned. I liked the movies too. The 1st one was pretty good I liked the practical monster effects
The American Guyver 2 movie is what lead me to love the Guyver franchise. We owned it on VHS and I watched it many times over before we rented Guyver 1. Then I got older and gain access to 1998 dial-up internet and was able to Limewire the original anime.

One great aspect of the Guyver OVA series was that fantastic soundtrack! That rock, metal, violin and orchestral score is beyond memorable!
I've never read the manga. However,I saw the anime and movies. Guyver deserves a high budget theatrical movie.
Or a live action series.
I would love that too but we all know that it’ll just be one big CGI fest
@@213chewy too true.
Indeed, a new anime would be amazing, and may actually help boost its popularity. Manga is still going on though, albeit on hiatus.
