John Leguiziamo absolutely killed his role as Violator. He ate real maggots for the role and the practical effects in the movie still stand up today. I loved this movie then and still love it today.

Great video. I only knew of Violator from the Spawn live action movie. Didn't know anything about his backstory as an angel. Very fascinating.

A lot of this backstory is fairly new to the character but it’s still pretty interesting, especially his time posing as Rasputin!
It always made me laugh, when in the movie, the Clown farts, then he says: " Whoop's, Twins" And, Spawn gets disgusted telling him: " Get away from me, you, disgusting freak."

Haha, that scene is classic! The Clown’s gross humor mixed with Spawn’s total disgust always cracks me up. *"Whoops, Twins"* is such a ridiculous line, but it fits his chaotic vibe perfectly.

It's interesting how much they have drawn from Gnosticism/Rosacrucianism. Though considering their control of the entertainment industry I suppose I ought not be surprised.
As someone who's read the series. The entire series... it takes various aspects from various faiths while providing the reader with enough imagination to understand that for every a****** with a Bible that says that we are ignorant to the ways of the universe, those people don't know what they're talking about either.
I was expecting a good backstory but jeez im bored to death not your fault
No fan of what they did here. Is that a try to see how much retcon can fit in a miniseries? Aren't violator n his brothers the sons of malebolgia? How then can he b a fallen angel like satan, who is malebolgia's superior in hell? How can he be a "halfdemon" n is satan now suddenly demoted to "halfdemon" too? Why has satan now the origin we know from the bible, anyway?
Remember, we already got an answer to who created the creator. This creator told spawn about how all planets got created with their own god n that earth was special by having gotten twin gods, one of 'em satan. So satan was no angel n neither a creation of god.
The same way were demons not fallen angels. They were satan's creations just as angels were god's creations.
One of them was malebolgia who ruled a plane of hell, the middle management so to speak an he created the brothers which makes him as far from a creation of heaven's boss as it gets.
Given the reputation of satan fo lying n the way we know violator n malebolgia use halftruths n trickery or tell lies, i doubt that i'm even suppised to take this origin as canon at all.
Specially, since the introduction hints it to b told as violators version, even if it's not written from his perspective n he also told us to b the being that inspired dragons in medieval tales.
Also a weird thing, that his human appearence is his choice. It actually was part of a pennance he got forced upon himself by malbolgia.
He was banned from hell for the time it takes to prepair al for his new role as spawn n malbolgia made him to look like he does, if he doesn't takes his true form.
The violator actually hates clowns.
I really struggle to understand how today's spawn fits into the old stuff.
Why is there a god n satan at all? Didn't spawn defeated them both n recreated earth without them, to leave them stranded there to fight all they want, while humanity is no longer to b bothered by them? This was as far back as the late 120er issues, nowhere near even halfway through the story.

Considering that the christian organizations of the world are guilty of more sex crimes against children than all other organizations, into the tens of billions in lawsuit settlements, I feel it's highly understated.
