Great video. I have been playing guitar (for 45 years), and I tried to learn trumpet about 20 years ago without any result. Recently my wife (an antiques dealer) found me a vintage natural horn and a rare buicine, and I started messing around with them, and I am watching brasses' tutorials just to get a feel on the whole thing. Your video is one of the best. You seem to be a great teacher.
Good stuff. I played trumpet in the 4th grade, switched to tuba in the 5th like my older brother. Played for 10 years then stopped. Got back 20 years later. Found out tubas are a whole lot more expensive. Looking for an old 4 valve King tuba. Used to have one, great sound
I picked up a tuba and instantly made a note (not sure yet) on it and surprised a the person who brought/presented the tuba instrument at my middle school instrument fair, I'm pretty sure that once I get my own tuba then this will be very helpful.
@@darknotez7170 Typically our suggestion is to go to your local music shop and try to rent one first. Tubas in particular can be very expensive and cheap ones tend to be more difficult to play. Renting provides a cheaper option and gets you a better instrument. If you are interested in eventually buying one, try to find a store that uses your rental credit towards an eventual purchase, so that renting works towards buying one. If you are still interested in buying one, looks for some used tubas, from a reputable dealer such as Woodwind Brasswind.
I played an EEb Tuba for 16 years, but when I left the music school after university, I really need one, I miss playing, actually the reason I started looking for other players here 😂 it was always awesome
What’s a good price for a cheaper tuba? As a bassist, I really want to try tuba, but I can’t for school. I’m thinking about buying one to just play at home, but they’re so expensive!! I see some ranging from $5,000-10,000
Day one of playing tuba for me, and I am really having difficulty with keeping the air from coming out of my nose. Have you run into this problem before? Is it a common problem? Do you have any tips?
Coming from a relatively experienced tuba player, I can safely say: *NEVER EVER PLAY THE TUBA WITH A COLD* last time I did that I almost choked myself half to death
From a clarinet player switching to sousaphone for marching season, this is kinda a lifesaver.
Glad you enjoyed. Good luck with marching band
