You cannot imagine how much joy this video has brought to me! My late Calabrian mother made these exact Nacatole from her village in Italy every year at Christmas time! Although she was very guarded about this recipe, I managed to film her doing it and have been able to recreate her recipe in a much larger quantity. But this was just a perfect amount to make for my small family! And what impressed me most was your use of Anisette which is not to everyone's taste but I cannot imagine making these without Anisette. I do so love the flavor that I actually add a tiny bottle of anise oil to the recipe along with the Anisette. The flavor and smell are unbelievable! I once tried to surprise my son-in-law by making a batch and as soon as he walked into my house, he could tell by the fragrant aroma that I had made them. And no matter how much I tried to deny it, the aroma gave it away! This very day is the 5th anniversary of my mom's passing and I can only believe it is a sign from her and a very special one! The video was filmed beautifully and the music was gentle and soft. I loved it all! Thank you for this!
You cannot imagine how happy I was to find this video!! My late Calabrian mother made Nacatole every Christmas and no one else in the family knew the recipe. She guarded it carefully, but later in life she consented to me filming her making them and I have done so several times now. What really thrilled me about this recipe is that you used Anisette flavoring! None of the similar recipes I viewed ever used Anisette. But I love it so much that I even add a small bottle of anise oil to it to enhance the flavor. I once tried to surprise my son-in-law with these because he loves them too. But the moment he walked in my house, he could smell the undeniably rich fragrance and he knew I had make them no matter how much I denied it! My mother passed exactly 5years ago today and although I was not looking for this recipe, it came up on my feed. I can only feel that this is a sign from my beloved mother to remind me of her and how she and I always made Nacatole for our family at Christmas. This video was specially filmed and the music was soft and gentle. What a beautiful job! I thank you so much and wish you a Buon Natale!
Hey guys! Will you prepare some typical dessert for Christmas? 😊
