It is about how the world does not see what it does not want to, as real as poverty and oppression are, most choose to ignore it. I know they have always tried to spread empathy in this world, this is just one of them. Also us and them. I think it was particularly good choice for Live Aid and other concerts for Africa, Bangladesh etc. They, especially David Gilmour have given alot to humanitarian causes. Gilmour gave his huge guitar collection to be sold through English auctions and 100 % of proceeds to charities. What a wonderful man, human being.

Having empathy for the human condition and understanding the human condition are not the same things. While you can't achieve an improvement in the former without such an understanding. Walters is an Atheist Communist, which says it all. Without this understanding, the 'solution' is invariably worse than the problem, indeed MUCH WORSE. Always be warned about rich people who are very good at explaining perceived problems but never bother to give any solutions, often because they know full well that YOU won't like them, to say the least.

When we listened to what is now called progressive rock, back when it was new, we knew that it was music of and for the future...truly timeless. There was a whole lot of crap back then too, but it wasn't music of and for the future, and it wasn't timeless. Y'all are proof that we weren't crazy. There is a timelessness to the true listeners as well as the music, you will find. Peace and good fortune finding all the gems.

The music by Pink Floyd is so powerful that not just the music, it's also the words. It's good that you guys that you get the goosebumps, these songs are passing away- you need to remember what he's actually saying. I'm 42 OK, and this kind of music no longer is around new, it's sad that it isn't any more. If you want to hear something by them, it's on 'The Machine' it's a darker song, but it says more about what is going on right now.

Keep in mind, you two, that Deep Purple, Zeppelin, Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, The Doors, Santana....all these bands were all around the same time...along with Black Sabbath, Rush, Jethro Tull, Aerosmith and on and on and on..late sixties through the seventies and part of eighties..We had SO MUCH spectacular music back then, and the number of amazing bands at the same time has never been equaled. Not saying there isn’t great music out there now.....NOT pop music but artists like Aurora, and symphonic metal, and prog metal, and some rock and roll, but the sheer number of top-notch bands all slamming us with great music at once will probably never come again because the music scene is too fractured now.

The song is about 'indifference' to the plight of others suffering. If we are indifferent to what is happening to them, how can we talk about brotherhood of man? If your neighbour is struggling, how can you be at peace with yourself? We are each others keeper.

You did reaction to Comfortably Numb LIVE after you have listen the studio version, so it will be very cool if you would make the same with this piece of art. No doubt, LIVE version of this song is much soul touching.

You really should check out the concert version from The Delicate Sound of Thunder tour. It's easy to find on RUclips. There's also a remastered concert version. Do yourself a favor.....

Great reaction, plenty of floyd to go at ..most stuff from the Pulse concert - High Hopes, Comfortably numb. Also do The Wall ( don't do the video version from the movie first, make sure it's the album version).
may i also recommend you watch Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing (live alchemy version) another great guitarist (Mark Knopfler) although the drummer (Terry Williams) almost ..almost stole the show.
keep up the great reaction lads and i hope your channel grows quickly.

1;25 he's saying while you 2 are sitting in a con chair, surrounded by all the amenities that you have, there is people starving to death. And this is happening while I'm writing this. No More Turning Away. That's the message. It doesn't say why. and that's the flaw of this music.
