That, my friends, was the greatest band to ever walk the Earth.
😊@user-qi7kl3ec6g
Certainly.
No question, will love them forever! Completely timeless
E sempre será, não é a toa que amo.
Once Pink Floyd goes inside your brain, there is no turning back. You are hooked for life
There have been a lot of fabulous guitar players over the years; some of them faster and more technical than David Gilmour. But nobody's guitar playing can touch your soul like this man. My favorite guitarist of all time.
Amen we'll put. He to me is the best of all.
David Gilmour is proof you don't have to play a million notes a minute to be one of the greatest guitarist on earth!!!
Agree just a few notes does it luv him from 1973 dark side of the moon
me too
To quote Dave Mustaine of Megadeth: "That guy can do more with one note than most modern shredders can do with an entire fretboard"
I am 68 and listening to Pink Floyd from 1972 , this is ART !
58 yo....YES
David Gilmour is THE LORD OF THE STRINGS!
You are wrong. He is the God of Guitars.
Pratt's bass work in this one is so underrated. It accentuated and framed the guitar and the drums so wonderfully well!
Totally agree, there're so many incredible fills all over the song.
Guy pratt una leyenda. Bajista de la hostia
I consider him the best guitarist because you can feel the emotion coming from it
Davild Gilmor plays guitar like a God.
You are so right !
Gods don't have a damn thing on David Gilmour when it comes to the guitar.
God can't never ever play like this
God wishes he could play guitar like Gilmour..
I don't believe in any gods... but if I was so inclined, David Gilmour would be right up there! ;-]
No one is better at putting feeling into music. It’s Sorrow.
David calls it "bending bits of wire." I call it an emotional mugging. He destroys me every single time he plays. The man is a God.
Well said!
You bet he is...
Well said!
I do love Rick's keyboards and Nick's drums too though.
Great Discription!
It takes a lot to leave you two speechless - or a David Gilmour outro solo. The greatest guitarist alive today.
The Pink Floyd "Pulse" concert was by far the best I've ever seen.
There are guitar players out there who can shred through 50 notes in a single bar of music, but can’t finesse a slow bend and release like Gilmour. That shredding stuff is impressive from a perspective of technique and accuracy, but often lacks emotion impact. My guitar heroes play with soul. We’re all chasing Gilmour.
He makes every note, virbrato, and bend count
Gilmour dosen't plug his guitar to an amp, he plugs it to his soul!
Comment is spot on. 👌
I have to add the late brilliant Steve Clark to the list. Always played for the song and not himself. His guitar was also an extension of his body. He had great respect for David Gilmour. RIP beautiful sensitive Steve.
@@CoolCoyote Perhaps you need to listen to more of Steve, a classically trained musician. And more in the vein of the great Jimmy Page, but unique himself, not a copy. Never any ego in his music, just his soul. Not a shredder, but a thoughtful composer of melody and magic. I will always grieve for him and what we lost the day he died.
This band is perfect live as they are in the studio
Remember this was in 1994!!! Still the best concert experience nothing close and we are in 2021. That says it all....
Back then music was made. Cars were made, that had soul, had a human touch to them. Now both these divisions are electronic and that just doesn't spark the same emotion. Sometimes I wish we could go back, because that "progress" we had from back then until this very day seems to me is not in favor to anyone, nor the Planet itself.
Strong song strong lyrics strong music Great band of all the times .
Guy Pratt the bass player said about Gilmour that he spend hours to find the tone and then record the song faster that he spent on tone
As a guitarist I can say that earpiercing feedback is the last thing most of us want to hear when we're playing, most see it as an annoyance that can completely ruin the music you were playing. On the contrary, David Gilmour uses that feedback to MAKE music
Pompeii. Feedback? Don't worry about the feedback! What would be rock and roll without it!
David once said, “Feedback? Christ! Don’t worry about feedback - that’s what rock music is.” Or something similar, LOL. It’s on YT
@@lynnhoffmann247 almost. "Don't worry 'bout that. Christ... Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?""
@@MeNotMeToBeSure Yes, I knew it was something like that 👍🏼
Gentlemen do yourselves a big favor and sit down and watch this whole concert. Best 2 hours of your life. DO IT !!!! Love you guys.
This concert at Pulse had to be the greatest live performance ever...by any band !! He brings tears to my soul..
Gilmour has the most emotive and soulful style in rock. A legend.
Santana is great t
Not sure if anyone brought this up but this Stage cost $100m in 1994 😳 & they had 3 of them flying around the world so the show could be setup on time, I think it took 3days to assemble it 🤓
Question: "Why do they have 2 drums, 2 pianos, 2 guitars?" Answer: "Because they want to" lol, love you both and your enthusiasm for music. You both FEEL the music and it's a joy to watch. And-it makes complete sense that you love Pink Floyd so much-because they are the best band of all time.
They do a special for you, a drum, a piano and a guitar for George and same for Patrick. LOL
Because it creates the landscape that makes his guitar make sense!! But the whole band make the whole experience.
Yeah but they have three backing singers!!!
@@gbsailing9436 lol
and 348 lights! Surely one is enough!!!
The album that this song is from (Momentary lapse of reason) is never given the credit it deserves. There are such great tracks on it. "Sorrow", "On the turning away" "One slip" and "Learning to fly" are as good as anything they've ever done.
I love the One Slip song, which is really A Momentary Lapse of Reason.
@@ashyclaret 🤫😏
Album "A Monentary Lapse Of Reason" isnt bad, bat litte cold and technicistly.
Some tracks are greats, I just dont like the mastering, too much '80, compressed stuff...
Totally agree! One Slip is a mega song that is up there with the best!!!!!
Pulse is the gift that keeps giving for sure, Run Like Hell next it's another Pulse banger
I saw the Pulse concert (i.e., Division Bell tour) live in 1994 in Vancouver BC at an indoor venue, and by far it was the most spectacular event on all levels that I have ever experienced. I love this performance. Even so, I prefer the 2016 rendition from David Gilmour (not billed as Pink Floyd) on Live at Pompeii. That version of Run Like Hell is the GOAT in my opinion.
Run like hell is a explosion!!!! Bert good
Quite simply the best band ever. Period love them.
One of my favorite guitar solos. Way better than the studio version.
By far the best version of this amazing song. It would have been something so special to have been at Earls Court that day.
Yes, and remember that the solo impro part was different from a place to another while the Pulse tour. Coming back to live is huge and unique on the Laserdisc version and « only » there.
This is better than comfortably numb from the same gig unfortunately a lot of people don't agree
Un son qui me fait frémir
I was lucky enough to see this concert on their tour. It was absolutely incredible! 🤘
If there was a time machine ... this is the concert I wanted to see live
Lo mismo digo yo también. Después de reencontrarme con mis seres queridos este.seria el evento.que quisiera ir a ver con mi papá mi hermano primo y amigos
"...but, why are there two...??"
"Because they are Pink Floyd: they do what they want to."
Priceless! Glad you guys are diggin' PF - rock on.
Without wishing to seem melodramatic, you could literally feel your internal organs rattling around inside your rib cage during that intro and outro at the live show. That was the sheer power of the sound. I’ll never forget it as long as I live.
Could not agree more- never has a guitar been cranked-up so far and still sounded so good, so clean and so clear- almost louder (more intense?) than when the entire band were joining in.... indescribable texture to that sound that simply does not transfer to the recording. Even while hearing it, your brain was whispering ' can't take a guitar that far... it'll struggle..the strings will break.... it's going beyond the capacity of the PA system...' but somehow the wail keeps building, the internal shaking continues and you finally accept that yes, you have actually been blown away -that the LP/CD is just a tease and that Live, here and now is what a guitar can really do. Breathtaking- no one sounds that good live....
They played this on the 1987 (went to both Austin shows) tour as well as 1994 (San Antonio). My sternum was vibrating with those low notes. Weirdest, coolest sensation ever.
Idem... vu à lyon. Inoubliable, le plus beau concert de toute ma vie
Here is an interesting fact for you both. At Isle of Wight Rock Festival when Jimmy Hendrix appeared, David Gilmour stepped into the breach to act as his sound engineer!! Shows the total genius of the man
What a performance👏👏👏👏👏👏 There's no way God rested on the 7th day, he squeezed everything into those first six days just so he could spend the whole of Sunday creating Pink Floyd...Fantastic reaction guys👌✌
Probably the best song of the post-Waters Pink Floyd.
So epic. So deep. So monumental.
LOL...at the end George said "I gotta take a breath". You two live in the music you listen to. I bet you're both exhausted by the time you're done for the evening. Love watching your reactions and seeing you learn of other groups out there to love.
The Incredible thing is now synchronized the lights are with the music. It amplifies and magnifies the emotion in each and every song. When God created Pink Floyd, he immediately broke the mold. There will Never be another band like Pink Floyd... EVER!
His Guitar 🎸 "It's an out of body EXPERIENCE!!" TO SEE THEM IN CONCERT...I HAD THE HONOR 💓🎸💓
That percussionist was out-of-this-world
Your Reaction has Pink Floyd Written all over it!
Love Pink Floyd...
And your comments crack me up!!
.."why they have 2 guitars and 2 drums?.."
.."because they want to..
They can do what they want..they are Ponk Floyd !!! "...
Just imagine being at this concert for 2+ hours, totally transfixed to your seat.
If music be the food of life, play on...........William Shakespeare....1602.
I don't have to imagine it just remember it 🤘
@@johnnymissfire8464 I remember it well, it´s just a shame that all these new Floydian´s have only their imaginations and youtube to get the experience of it, we were so fortunate to be there.
i have never seen Floyd live but i saw the amazing tribute band Beyond The Darkside and i was completely stoned after we shared two joints before going in. Best show on weed ever.
This for me is Gilmore's finest performance it really is mind blowing, gotta be my fav....
and i have never ever seen a performance by a gutarists that is better than this...ever ever ever....maybe gilmours com/numb from this concert is close but not close enough for me......
i was lucky enough to see Floyd live 3 times......this song still burns in my soul. very underrated song.
I’ve been to over 100 concerts in my lifetime… when I saw pulse live in 94’ nothing before or after ever came close to a live performance like that show. To see close to 90,000 people in awe at the lights, stage and sounds (which is quadraphonic) blend together was an experience, I love seeing reactions to this concert…. Beings back awesome memories
my very 1st concert was dark side of the moon in1974. I was 15... had the Floyd hook put in deep ever since.
'His guitar hits me straight in the heart'

Thank you friends!
My dad was at pulse ( I’m so jealous ) also a good pink floyd song reaction is pigs from animals album
1994 Yankee Stadium. Best show ever. When they played Sorrow the whole place shook and so did I. Unbelievable and amazing.
Have only just caught your reaction to this sublime PULSE concert performance of Sorrow. I know how you feel as I had the opportunity to get tickets for this performance at Earls Court in London but I gave them up as I was busy at the time! - can't tell you how I feel to have missed this opportunity!!
David Gilmour and all the Pink Floyd are just a gift - they are the best !! Today there is nothing, that's over !!!
The abrupt ending perfectly sums up this song, and the band in general. They leave you with more thoughts than your brain can cope with ☺️
I do not know if you have done this one yet or not, but you need to do "One Of These Days" from this same concert.. will blow you away... thank you for doing "Sorrow" loved your reaction to this great song.... stay safe & stay strong young men...
Hello Kathy.
When you said at 2:28 "you can feel the bass"... I've been lucky enough to see David Gilmour play this in concert twice. As good as viewing on video is, it really cannot compare with how the bass *actually* feels when you're there! The vibrations were so aggressive when I first saw it in 2015 it almost knocked the bottle I was holding out of my hand. When I saw it again in 2016, I remembered to put the bottle down as the song started...
I saw this same show in N.Y. 1994. The concert brochure said the stage is 120 feet wide. It takes a crew of 60 technicians three days to set up the entire lights and all. The concert schedule required that there had to be three entire crews to keep up. They leap frogged each other for 92 shows with 20 Trucks per crew and a total staff of 195. The tour cost the promoters $98.MILLION to put on, but the total profit was $260 MILLION…
Great reaction as always guys! You must do "Run Like Hell" from this same live concert!!
Speaking of feeling the music, you literally felt the music when seeing them play this live. David's intro and outro were so loud that it made your vital organs vibrate from within. I kid you not. And then decades later, when I saw David perform this at Madison Square Garden in '15 or '16, and after my ears had taken decades of abuse from headphones and concert going, my left ear literally stopped working during the intro part of the song due to the volume and didn't return for about 10 minutes. It scared the living shit out of me. If I see live music now I take ear plugs. So, when you boys ask how does he make those sounds, it's volume, volume and more volume (and some other stuff, lol).
Just love to see you younger guys so emotionally invested in the music I grew up on - superb reactions!
FYI - there were only only 3 members of Pink Floyd on stage: David Gilmore, guitars & vocals; Richard Wright (sadly now deceased), keyboards; Nick Mason, Drums (the original bass player, Roger Waters split with the band some years ago & has a successful solo career). The other musicians, the 2nd guitarist, the 2nd keyboardist, the bassist; the percussionist & the backing singers are all session musicians that add dimension & a bigger sound, "because they want to".
The SORROW of this song is that it ended. Great reaction. You must do a post reaction. May I suggest COMING BACK TO LIFE off of PULSE. It is a hidden treasure of this concert. Gilmour at his best again !!!
los más grandes siempre y desde siempre ¿acaso alguien se puede comparar mínimamente a ellos?
Jimi Hendrix: "I've discovered how to artistically use distortion in my guitar solos"
David Gilmour: "Hold my beer"
If you watch more recent concerts given by David Gilmour, he uses a guitar strap with large X's along its length which used to belong to Jimi Hendrix. Just imagine some of the gigs that strap has experienced!
Best comment ever !
Best reply ever 😂
Hope that fucking over-used 'hold my beer' comment dies out soon.
That intro is PURE Viagra for my soul...
Nicks work on the drums is pure brilliance, it is light from the edge of the Universe...
The outro is the smoking of the cigarette after making love all night to the love of your life...
AHHHHHHHHHHMAZZZZZZZZING!!!
Everthing and everybody on stage is so unbelievably on point. Love your reaction
I saw this exact tour at the Rose Bowl two nights in a row April 16th &17th 1994, 20th row dead center both nights. I saw The Wall live 10th row center in quadraphonic sound at the LA Sports Arena 2/7/1980!
Dam what a sound, it's taking me far away out of my mind & body. Dam. Dam. So great💥💥💥💥😎😎😎😎💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Is like they get you into the void and illuminated it with music and sound
My tears will fill up the ocean!! Every time I hear this song, my tears are floating!!
This is one best reaction i see, one of this Brothers been dragged by pink floyd, David Gilmour is very gifted,
First time I saw them was in 1969. When they brought this concert to the San Francisco Bay Area I waited in line for 3 days to get tickets to all 3 nights. On the 3rd night there was a low cloud cover moving over the Oakland Coliseum. When the lasers shined up they lit up the clouds making for a whole new experience. I'm 73 years old and have attended well over 100+ concerts and this was one of the best concerts I ever attended. May I suggest for another great guitarist you check out Joe Bonamassa doing "Mountain Time" live at The Royal Albert Hall.
Helene here. We are the same age, and I agree with you about Floyd, and also about Bonamassa at Royal Albert Hall and your choice of song. I think we have the same taste! 🤘
I am 23 years old and a huge fan of pink floyd. I've been listening to pink floyd almost every day for the last 2 years. This group is a legend and will last for generations. I like your comment very much. We are floydians!!
Absolutely. And Bonamassa doing Happier Times at the Royal Albert Hall. The two drummers are spectacular
It is impossible to watch them without my jaw dropping to the floor. The subsonic bass, the guitar, are incredible in this song. What I wouldn't give to see PF in a final live concert together.
Pink Floyd created SO MUCH phenomenal music over the years, but this has always been my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE from them. David Gilmour is the greatest guitarist to have ever lived, and he's NEVER had a better example of what he's TRULY capable of than this.
please!!!!!! One of these days!, FROM THIS SHOW!!
Journalist: What kind of solo will you play?
Gilmour: Yes.
Wow, guys, that was certainly emotional. That must have been an absolutely incredible concert to attend. The special effects and of course the music - I've never seen anything like it. I'm gobsmacked and chilled to be honest. Dave Gilmour, what a talented guitarist. I was really blown away by Comfortably Numb from the same concert but this is on a different level. Hope you're both okay - I can see how much you're affected by this performance - again the power of music. Incidentally you did give a reaction, but visually rather than verbally, and that can be just as powerful. Take care both of you.
Massive understatement, Gilmour is much more than "a talented artist",
@@paulrollings5291 Absolutely right, Paul, Dave Gilmour is amazing!
The best live performance of Pink Floyd for me was at Gdansk in 2006. Incredible playing, David Gilmour at his best. If you love this masterpiece of music you have to listen to that concert.
This song was the best live performance I've ever seen. May 18 1994 Foxboro Stadium home of the NE Patriots it was raining and was cold but the rain made the lasers sparkle I think I had an out of body experience during the last guitar solo. I've seen this line up twice and Roger Waters 5 times including his Wall Tour and nothing came close to this song that night.
David Gilmour could do more with one note than some of today's shredders can do with a dozen Dave Mustaine
I Love this reaction!!!! great reaction!!! David Gilmours its UNIC!!!! Thanks God for gift us Sir David Gilmour..
I love you two, your cute and the way you react to good music is so fun. The brother that sings is pretty good.
Guy Pratt on the bass!
I'm so glad you got around to watching this one. It's my favorite from any of their live shows. Next I hope you'll review "Run Like Hell," from the same Pulse concert. It's one of the most beautiful light shows you'll ever watch, and that's why it's my second favorite on Pulse.
This is the true reaction. You become speechless in the end
Every song from Pulse is a masterpiece, but you definitely should see:
- High Hopes
- Money
- Time
- One Of These Days
- Shine On You Crazy Diamond
- Run Like Hell (on this song, the old edit actually has slightly better camera angles than the new restored version)
that intro hits hard in the gut
I read somewhere that the Floyd's sound system at the Pulse concert was pushing around...(are you ready?) 230,000 watts, and that they had to somehow get the power from an entire electrical substation (not so sure about this part). I was flabbergasted, to say the least. LOVE your reaction, by the way. You guys look like I did when I first saw the Pulse concert...
You can tell there's a lot of power being used by the echoes you hear when the vibrations stop.
@@dwanpyrtle3134 Thank you for paying attention. I am very familiar with electricity and electronics as I'm sure you are. This concert was utterly ridiculous as far as the power goes.....
And they had to stop airtraffic over the citys they played. Im not kidding. I was on one of that shows in Basel, Switzerland. Just a lifechanging moment.
They played at Lahti Finland 89 during Delicate sound of thunder, and the stage set took so much power, that it blew main condensators at the Transformer-station. There was a blackout almost entire city.
En Barcelona al cual asistí, tuvieron miedo de hacer saltar por los aires una subestación de alta tension, por eso traían 54 trailers, creo que habia 4 de generadores adicionales. Fue BRUTAL !!!
A masterpiece. Gives me chills every time
This is why David Gilmour is my favorite guitarist of all time. Some people don't get it he is in a shredder he's not flashy he doesn't run around onstage he does his talking with his guitar pick and guitar. Definitely the best emotional guitar player in the history of music. He's also one hell of a human being. He auctioned off all of his guitars well most of them including the black strat for a record amount of money who was in the hundreds of millions I believe and took the money and donated it. He has a lot of charities he is involved with I could talk forever about what a great human being he is. You should listen to sonnet 16 David Gilmour sing Shakespeare it's absolutely beautiful on his floating recording studio
Gilmore fact for you......he bought a house for £3 million several years later he sold it for £ 6.3 million.....nice profit eh.........not for Gilmore.......he said quote " i only paid £ 3 million for it , thats all i want back...so he donated the remaining £ 3.3 million to charity..........not only is he Humane..it shows what a down to earth guy he really is....IMO the best guitarist this country ever had ( uk ) and i would say in the 5 goat...i dont know who numbers 2,3,4,5, are..........lol
@@vincenthewlett4329 yeah I knew that. There's a video on RUclips about the house
Still one of my most played Floyd Songs. Everything about it is epic. I swear Gilmour can make the guitar talk
The extra instruments are to fill in the areas that were overdubbed by them on the track in the studio or provide background rhythm. Making it sound that much fuller and more like the original recording. Gilmour not only modifies his guitar... the strings and the wood of the guitar to get his sound. But all kinds of special modifications for the amplification as well that's way too technical for me to explain. Bottom line, he achieves a sound that is instantly recognizable as his - David 'Pink Floyd' Gilmour.
David Gilmour and his guitar - one man - one soul... I love him.
The feedback control of David guilmour its out of this world
I was there, 2 evenings on May 23 and 24, 1994, Montreal Olympic Stadium.
Some people have asked me, "Why are you going to see this show twice?"
When they finally saw the video of the show, they understood why I was there twice.
I was there for the two nights also in 1994 !!!
I was there for 2 of the Earls Court shows and can honestly say that seeing it twice really wasn't enough. I would happily sold everything I possessed to have been there for more but, unfortunately, I just couldn't get another ticket, no matter how hard I tried. Still, I suppose I was blessed to have been there at all.
@@alisonanthony1228 My employer (Labatt Breweries of Canada) was the sponsor for the three shows in Montreal, they were offering employees discounted tickets, in addition to a draw of a few dozen tickets I bought mine for May 22 and I won those (a pair) for May 23.
