I have always enjoyed this "version" of Pink Floyd, without Roger Waters. While he was a founding member and had much to add, he also sort of always seemed to be an angry/dark influence as well.
This "version" is all about the pure beauty & essence of the band. I may be a small voice & opinion, but it's just me & how I feel. I have their live Pulse DVD. Now that is absolute perfection. Just an amazing bouquet for the senses.
I hope you're well, Jamel...I've loved your views & content for a couple years now ✌

Pink Floyd has always been a spiritual experience, from early on, (1979) I was 19, and it grew and expanded as did life. I was lucky to see Pink Floyd in 94 at Giants Stadium on a massive tour and again in 2012, at MSG, NY - words fail in comparison to being present in the moment, both you and the back in the same room - Long Live the Floyd -

Their songs can be, at the same time, easy and hard to comprehend. But also very timeless as you will discover as you take the journey with us. Thank you I have been listening to this song 35 years since it came out. It was this reaction that hit home. I had not tried to understand the song, just enjoy it. With just a few words from you about this, it means so much more. In the past five years or so, I have become more isolated, more left out, more alone and ignored. Having a rare neurological disorder that now has me in a wheelchair, I don't leave the house much, and when I go somewhere, I feel alone in a crowd.
I have to find a way to be accepted and included when I show up somewhere by myself, other than people holding doors open for me. I'm going to dig into the lyrics and watch this again.

The the crowd go nuts at the start, then quiet for the first verse til guitar kicks in (apart from odd rogue whistler, lol), that's respect and love for the track right there. Definitely touches the soul!
As for ppl askin for change to do drugs n stuff. I don't judge. I that's where they at and feel that's what they need at that point in their lives, at least they aren't robbin ya!. But that's up to them, I'd rather they bought food with my donation, but I ain't gonna judge. I definitely know what it's like. They will seek help when ready or die, but the choice is theirs. I wish I could play like that. I admire you for giving this music a listen. I saw your face while you watched it. I feel that way every time I hear him play. He is not the only great artist. Jimi Hendrix and many others are incredible. I just subscribed because of your reaction to this song. I saw it in your face, Bro. Some musicians have a way of getting into your soul. And there is nothing you can do about it. Although, Gilmour is one of the best, in my opinion, there are many others. But, your face, while listening to this was epic. I feel you, Bro.

Pink Floyd has always had tremendous talent. This song, especially gets me every time. Haunting lyrics. Primal sound. Thanks for sharing your reaction. You appreciate real music.

And today...as war explodes...and innocents are dying by the thousands....we are turning away. How many times will we watch innocent humans suffering because of the power of the few.
I have seen PF several times...always a magical experience!

Phil Collins, "(I can Feel It) In the Air tonight" is the song you were talking about. It does begin very low key, dim lighting.

I love this song but my favorite off this album (A Momentary Lapse of Reason) is "Learning to Fly". The live version of that from the Pulse tour is amazing. The only issue with that is a lot of flashing lights at the end that might affect those who are sensitive to flashing lights.
