The last song , on the last studio album...chronicles their journey as a band to this final point. An absolutely perfect closure. No band, past, present, or most likely future captures the human condition and emotional range so perfectly.
Gilmour's final solo on the lap steel guitar conveys the melancholy being felt at journey's end. If you don't goosebump and tear up at this incredible passage, your soul is dead.

They are great. David Gilmour has such talent as musician, and with his wife Polly Samson beautiful, memorable lyrics. I was 37 when this album came out, having perfect vision, my whole life, no glasses. Now that I am older, the fact is....you lose quality of vision. I am artist, musician, and vision is so important. The grass was greener...colors were brighter, all facts. Enjoy all the gifts of your youth. They are not permanent, sadly. That is a steel guitar in second half of song. David is brilliant. The lyrics says' "the endless river" which will be their next album. I remember forever the live concerts. I wish that Gilmour would do one last tour, personally, selfishly, and also for a next generation to experience. David Gilmour is such a generous man, he has written music for projects, and I learn more and more about his talents and his goodness. Check out a video written by and about " fractal geometry" from math experts and Gilmour does the music. Beautiful to watch and listen to.

The perfect illustration of why less is more - when it involves Pink Floyd, and especially Richard Wright and Dave Gilmour.

They are so cute! For a fellow old rocker (age 56, female) The fact that these two are close to the same age we were when it first came out and that they are having the same reaction we did. Just watching them makes me remember the greener grass! :)

Pink Floyd ... My favorite band since I was 10. Pink Floyd is all about regrets, our childhood, time, life, death, but also the acceptance of death. I realized that when I was around 16-yrs.

This song is a masterpiece, Mr Gilmour knows how to transmit his feelings to his guitar!!! amazing!! but at the end, this beautiful song was made for all Pink Floyd members so, everything was amazing, drums, keyboards, bass, guitar, lyrics, amazing!! what a way to remember our childhood or friends from the past, even the nature of that past!!

This is a song that is a homage to Cambridge where the Floyd started out in 1965 . Its about friendship lost and found , the city of Cambridge , triumph and regrets . Ive heard this live at The Pulse concert and on the banks of the Cam river in Cambridge and it always makes me cry when i hear it . Ive been a life long fan since 1972 im 60 now . Thanks guys

That chorus!!!! And the cry of David's steel lap guitar at the end. This is my funeral song.... I was going to choose something fun... but instead my mourner's are going to get the very best of melancholy.

Hi guys! I just found you, watched one of your Queen videos, was blown away with the way you “feel” music and had a big smile on my face caused by your accent (I live in Switzerland now but come from Serbia where everybody speaks English with this slightly Russian accent) The surprise was even greater when I checked out what you react to. Queen and Pink Floyd are of course among my favourite bands so it wasn’t a question anymore should I subscribe or not 😊❤️ Looking forward for your future reactions and I have a lot to catch up with.

That's Nick Maison while sitting at his trap set playing the gong with one hand through the entire song. It begins and ends with him hitting a Gong. And in a somewhat awkward position at that. Can't imagine the amount of concentration it would take.
As a fanatical fan of theirs since 1968 this album release was sadden that never again the four would collaborate together on a album. I had picked up the CD set. But as always you have to listen the first time all the way through. And so the first time hearing it I was flying my private plane cross country with the headphones on what a surreal experience.
When this album was released it was used at certain sound competitions due to the extreme Dynamics which help push sound systems to the Limit.
