I wish Sony made the psvr2 a pcvr headset as well. That’s the reason I didn’t buy one even though I had a ps5 is because it only does one thing. At least the quest headsets can do pcvr even if not very well.

For me, flightsims and racing games are on a whole different level once in VR. Yeah but sony is barely marketing the damn thing. It seems like they're just in vr for the sake of it in case vr becomes more popular in the future. Its a good strategy, because they'll have a serious advantage compared to xbox if that ever happens but they need to push more. Yeah they'll lose money at first but they could gain so much more in the future.
I have 3K+ in Elite Dangerous in VR... if something like Star Field had VR I would sink a lot of time in though not as much as I would miss the multiplayer, especially the extra kick from pvp that i can get attacked by players at all time. To me the magic is being inside your own Spaceship... sims are where you can sink countless hours in.. if they one day release a Star Citizen with full VR space flight I can retire and play that forever...
I think there going to fall behind Sony if they don’t - as the vr headsets become more user friendly then as vr gaming is more immersive and you can even play 2d games in these headsets as well on an even larger screen than what most people have as tv’s and you can also play these 2d games on a tv or monitor as well with the PlayStation 5 or a pc and you don’t need a tv to do this - so why would you want to go Xbox route when your only limited to 2d games ? There’s even a new PlayStation portable handheld you can play PlayStation 5 games on or steam portable being released now when your on the move - so the only reason I can think of are some of the Xbox exclusives but other than that what can they offer ? Only way is if the they produce a killer vr headset or some kind of go-between eg holographic route as this may be more suitable for 2d gamers who want more immersion but don’t want the hassle of putting a vr headset. 3D games were great and am not sure today why it all went out (try playing trine on a 3D cinema - wow!- what if they produced a 3D 4K portable projector and allowed there games to have a 3D option ? . I also liked the idea of the ambi- light system Xbox were going to introduce for the Xbox 360 but changed there minds . Like I said , Microsoft will need to come up with some innovative ideas if they want to compete with Sony in the future .

Yea, a few others have had the same sort of opinion, that xbox should focus on producing titles for vr rather than making their own headset in a somewhat saturated market. I actually agree as well, though it would be cool to see how microsoft could push VR hardware!
I don't think they should make one, the money isn't made with headsets anyway but with games. However they SHOULD support third party headsets.
