I would use a hair rig, with a pink pop up. Keep it simple and enjoyable. Thanks guys.
Cheers bud 👍
Keep up with the great videos I'd love to try out those fluoros
Thanks Paul 👊🏼
youse inspired me too try this as a hobbie, just received my first fishing rod today your videos are so helpful even though there not tutorial vids, keep up the good work lads ;0
Awesome! Glad we have given you the motivation to try it, keep at it! It takes time to learn but it’s all an adventure 👍
Helicopter rig, nylon hooklink, white hookbait
Spinner Rig with a Trimmed White Milky Malt, love a bit of White 😉😉.
Always wanted to try the bigger Canals further up my Town 🎣🎣👍👍
Get out and have a go! 👍
@TheFishingBloggers on my to do list in next few weeks for Carp, Pike n Perch
@@paulhigham6047 Awesome! Hope you get lucky bud 👍
Pink on a supple hook link, in a small PVA, with a crank hook.
Sounds good 👍
Usually, I use a simple finesse rig with a 10 or 12-mm pop-up, size 10 Guru feeder hook and maggots or dendrobenas. You cannot go wrong with it on canals fishing
Are you targeting them with coarse gear?
Depending on the year periods 😊
For me I would probably use a spinner rig on the fluros, I was looking to buy them but hopefully I can win them🤞🤞👍keep up the great vids guys❤
Thank you 🙏 good luck 🤞
Chod with the orange for me, not too bright, just right 👍 another great video lads
Thank you 🙏
As always love the blog
And as for casting at showers got to be a pb on a long shank Ronnie
All the best can't wait till next time
Long shank Ronnie, that’s different 👍 Get on the PB’s 🔥
Stiff hinge with a 12mm white pop up is my go to. Especially on the canal!
12mm popping up a big hinge! Risky 😳
Nice little again lads big ups and my rig would be a Ronnie with a little mesh bag and my favourite colour would be yellow
Yellow 🟡 is the 1️⃣
And just like that its my new fav day of the week 👌
Hope you like the vid mate 👍
Another crackin blog lads loved it 👌
Answer to the question got to be a ronnie rig with the milky malts love a white popup esspecially on the park lakes where people feed bread to the ducks i like to think the carp mistake it for bread 👌
@@leewatkins3108 cheers Lee 👊🏼
i love these vids i learn new things eveerytime thank you for showing me new rigs and ways to tie rigs for myself
No worries, we try not to do too much rig talk as it can be a bit overwhelming and complicated things.
From experience, back leading under your rod tip on a canal isn't going to pin your line down to stop boats picking it up. That's because the depth profile of a canal is like a flattened U shape. Basically, hours back lead is in shallow water. You basically need your back lead beyond your near margin shelf.
I also find baiting up for a few days is very important. Canal carp can be quite nomadic. If you bait up for a week, they will find it, and keep coming back to that spot.
Three boats passed over the lines and all was good 👍 pre bait will be beneficial on any venue, but time restraints don’t allow us that option!
I'd throw a Ronnie rig out on a helicopter at a showing fish . My go to colour is orange which has served me well in the past as a bright visual .
Great video showing the flexibility of angling different locations , got to be out there on the banks to catch some..
Tight Lines and keep these great videos coming.
Steve M
Ronnies are very popular, lots of replies supporting them! Glad you enjoyed the video 👍
Quality watch as always guys I'd use a spinner rig with a pink peril onto the next adventure tightlines look forward to the next video 🎣 👊
Thanks mate! Spinners for the winners 🔥
Spinner rig with a milky malt for sure .Great video guys as always a joy to watch 👌🎣🎣
Thank you 🙏 good luck 🤞
Just found your channel never thought about that with fhd Swivel off the lead 👌 good bit of editing also youve gained yourselves a sub.....chod rig ...fruitylisious pop ups
Happy to help! Thanks for the sub 👍
Always a simple hair rig for me in a solid. Bag 15mm boilies or flaked maize
Nice 👍
Pink or orange 🍊 just a standard hair rig with a ssg shot 2 inc up the braid on it to pull down hook when fish picks it up
I prefer a bit of putty or a tungsten sinker as I’m sure shot damages the line.
Great video as usual, nice to see you both out and about. Simple hair rig for me with a fluro Yellow pop up. Cheers guys, keep them coming.
Thanks mate 👍
Yellow on a zig for me.👍
Zigs are so under used
Great show 👏 boys keep it up . Yes, I would go for the spinner rid with a wraysberres in red . Can't wait for the next show
Thank you, appreciate the feedback 👍
Don't worry about the rigs. Simple rigs location is the one. Travel light and sight fish for them canal carp ain't to hard to catch once found.
Agreed 👍
A chod with the red! Another good video as always gentleman! Looking forward to the next 👍🏻
Thanks Mike, get on the chods! 🔴
To showing fish I would go with a ronnie rig with PB yellow pop up with the intense booster.🤗🤞
Sounds like a bite that 👌
Definitely a simple hair rig in the canal n would be using those frutylicious 😊 another great vid guys thank you.
Thank you 🙏
Good luck 🤞
A Spinner rig with a fluro Yellow pop up . Good video boys come on the Spring come on the Thatchers 🎣🎣
Spring ✅
Thatchers ✅
Carp ✅
Braided hair rig, Florence orange!!! A little bit of me! Thank you for the videos awesome bas always
Thank you 🙏
Great video 👍 I’d just keep it nice and simple with a hair rig with fruitylicious 🎣
Thank you, Simple’s normally the best way 👍
A. Ronnie rig
B. I would use half pink and half yellow together something different to what everyone else is using
Fair play Sam, mixing it up 👍
pink peril on a ronnie rig that would be my favorite:]
Ronnies getting plenty of love
Enjoyable vid as usual guys I would of used white milky malt or yellow pb on stiff boo hinge rig or blow back rig on long shank both rigs are my favourites
Sounds good to us 👍
Hi guys
if I was chucking singles it would either be the white or the pink on a Ronnie rig.
If I was fishing the canal I would fish a longer 14” coated braid size 8 hook slip D on a yellow wafter 12mm. The other rod would be a 10” size 6 hook Ronnie rig with a pink 15mm pop up. Each rig would have had a pva mesh bag to protect the hook and my lead choice would be 2oz so it didn’t bury in the silt.
Maybe next time you could use chop worm, maggot, corn, pellets and chops on a baiting pole ?
Adam
Sounds good mate. Wouldn’t use naturals on the canal though, too many bream, perch and silvers - would be a waste of money!
Ronnie rig with a lovely Pink peril on keep up the great work!
Sounds like a plan 👌
Great video as always, nice to see you fish at different venues and target different species of fish . i would Simple hair rig with 4oz led and a pink pop up. Cheers guys, keep them coming.
Thank you 🙏
Good luck 🤞
Stiff hinge rig for me and attached to that a nice white milky malt 👍
Keep up the great work!
Thank you and that sounds like a bite 👍🔥
Great video lads. Ronnie rig yellow for me.
That’s the 1️⃣ 🔥
Great video again lads and a blank saver :) not the ones you want but hey ho, spinner with a pink pop up would be mine or with 2 fake corns
At least the rod rattled 😂
@@TheFishingBloggers exactly that mate :)
Combi rig (braid 0.36mm fluorocarbon 0.37mm), trabucco xs hook 12size, small o-ring, bait plastic stopper, orange/red/pink pop up with small floating fake yellow corn.
Keep what you doing 💯 👌 cheers mates
Like the specifics 👍👊🏼
Pinks in a solid bag with dark pellet freebies for me
Good luck 🤞
Cracking vid with a Big difference to the usual style ….And has to be a Helicopter Chod with the Yellow
Glad you liked it 👍 plenty of love for the chods
One of my top spots for pike in the basin over the bridge and ive heard about carp caught there for years just need to try it out myself and maybe even bump into you tight lines guys
Popular area for the pike! Worth a go for the carp, you never know!
i would use a ronnie rig with yellow pop up and boilie
....
bought some dna bait last week very good for ur carp fishing went to to farlows for the week and caught some 25 to 40 x4
Wow. That’s a mega result 🔥👍
Blowback with a yellow and a pink, half of each, the two go to colours on my local 👍
Doubling up, that’s a bit cheeky! 😉
Definately the classic ronnie rig with a white 8mm pop up. Never done me wrong!
8mm pop up! That’s tiny 😮
Simple hair rig with a wrayberries lovely. Great video pal 👍
Thank you 🙏
White pop up on Ronnie styleee! people chuck bread information ducks, so carp see white as food!
Makes sense 👍
Chod with a white pop up. Good blog as usual. Chris Isaacs
Thanks Chris 👍 another vote for the chod
Good little session boys, I have dabbled on the royal military canal, but never succeeded apart from big old bream and tench. Gotta be in it to win it. Always a yellow one on a ronnie
Worth a go! Will return and try again at some stage, see if we can have one!
Never give up, if it's local you can pre bait the arse out of it
@@nickflitter7172 it’s not local enough really, not on our time schedules anyway!
Pink in a solid bag 🔥
Solid bag 💪🏼👊🏼
Keep the vids coming, they are inspiring. Simple ronnie rig with fluoro orange pop ups🤙
Thank you, appreciate the kind words 👍
If you're using flying backleads and backleads you should be fishing tighter lines, especially when you're fishing tight up to the opposite bank... having your swingers sat on the ground doesn't give any room for dropback indication👍
Bite indication was spot on, the bream made the bobbin dance more than Patrick Swayze 🕺 if a carp picked it up it would bolt left or right so would have just had a blitzing run!
Or run towards you = no indication. I always use running leads on canals and tight line through a back lead. Far, far more sensitive. Don't understand the obsession with fixed leads. Also (I've caught hundreds of canal carp) big 20 mm air dried baits for me - doubles either snowman or bottom baits on simple hair rigs. There is no need for Ronnie's, Spinners or over complicated rigs on the cut. The fish have most likely never been caught. These baby pop ups will just result in bream! Summer time, mesh baits or shrink wrap, as the crays will destroy soft baits. Definitely no pellets!! Enjoyed the video. Wish more cut content was made
@@user-te4qy1vx6q similar to my thinking (Shaun) I prefer bigger baits to single out the carp, Hugh is much more happy with smaller baits, but that’s just a confidence thing on his part. Thanks for watching, glad you liked it 👍
Would love to see you on the canal again, and trying different (bream/hybrid/cray) avoiding tactics. Nights too?
@@user-te4qy1vx6q we will have a go again, not sure about nights as it’s an additional ticket…maybe visit a different canal at some point too.
Seriously i love your videos
Cheers mate that’s kind to say
Awesome! We love you watching them 👍
Another fun video guys 👍🏻 . It would have to be a yellow on a ronnie rig for a showing fish for me 🎣
Thank Mike 👍 can’t beat a PB on a Ronnie 👌
A chod with a yellow to ping, on a showing carp in Spring! 😁👍
Someone’s clearly had too much gin….
Ronnie for showing fish all the time, with a yellow
Good thinking 👊🏼
I think I would pick the white pop up pn a ronnie rig. There's always time for a coffee guys
Too right there is ☕️
I’d use a multi combo rig with the milky malts in white 🔥🔥😵keep up the good content lads
Thank you 🙏
I would keep things really simple, use the white pop up and on the canal just use a fluoro hooklink and hair running rig, nothing fancy. Tight lines.
Like it 👍
For me i would probably use a chod with a yellow fluro🤗🔥 Great video again, nice to you guys also challenge yourself. Keep up the great work!
Thank you 🙏
I’d definitely use the yellow pbs and my go to rig would be a hinge stiff rig. Great content as always 👍🏻
Thank you 🙏 can’t beat a PB 🔥
Great content as always lads. It would have to be a Naked Choddy for me with a Yellow one on the end!! 👌🏻🎣😎
Thank you 🙏
Definitely agree on taking the swivel off the lead, have done that for years.
Cool canal video 👍🏻 shame about the bream 👎🏼
You don’t see many people do it, I’m sure it allows less movement so faster turning of the hook 🪝
goin fishing tomz till saturday for 48hrs. and using hinge stiff rig with hooklink dark matter braid as is supple an settles over anythink and with either a yellow pop up or pink🎣 if fishing canals id pre bait with pigeon conditionar an sweetcorn probaby naked chod set up or solid bags on white pop up or yellow🎣 hope you succeed a canal carp next time.
Thanks mate, enjoy the 48 👍 hope you have a good session
Chod with the pink for sure.
Saying that, I haven't had much luck with Popups. Maybe I have been using the wrong ones! 🤣
Sound like you need some DNA in your life 😂
For me it has to be a ronnie rig with a pb yellow has caught me some stunning carp and only thanks to you guys for making me use them #dna 💯🎣
Agreed. PB’s are the 1️⃣ 🔥
@@TheFishingBloggers keep up the good work love the vids me and my dad sit down watch all the time we love sitting at the lake with a thatchers and you guys on 💯🎣
@@grantmartin8365 can’t beat a cool Thatchers behind the rods 🍺 🍏
Probably a helicopter rig, D rig, possibly little Ronnie. And I'd use the pink perral. Never fished for canal carp, maybe this year.
Give it a go! 👍
Ronnie with the white milky malts for me 👌🏻. Nice video guys 👍
Thank you 🙏
Great content nice to mix it up. Blowback rig for me with a pink popup.
Thank you, glad you liked it 👍
Chod rig with a milky white on to showing fish 🎣🐟👍🏻
Chods are taking the win as it stands 👌
Enjoyed the blog I would use a chod D rig with a small yellow pb pop up usually does the job but most bites for carp on the canal for me come late in to the evening 😊 keep up the good work 👊
Thank you, canal came alive on the evening so I’m not surprised it’s bite time!
18mm bait straight out the bag with 10mm yellow pop up on a simple hair rig
So you wouldn’t use the flouro range then…. 😂😂
Your on the cut youth scare the shit out um
@@stevenhudson8130 the giveaway wasn’t referring to the canal, it was a general question.
I would use a chod rig with either bright yellow pink or red to chuck to a showing fish my favourite popup out of them popups are orange fruitylisious
Sounds like a bite in the making 🔥
I’d go in with a 10.5ft zig with a orange friutylicious on waters i tend to fish especially at “SHOW”ERS in my opinion a jumping , boshing, head and shoulder carp is a happy carp in the upper layers , your welcome 😂
Zigs are mega for chucking at a showing fish, judging the depth is tricky tho but I’d always aim for 3/4 depth 👍
I would definitely use a spinner rig with one of the orange frutilicious popups.great video guys fingers crossed as I could really use some new pop ups due to some pesky critters have had a munch on mine so they must taste good lol
Fingers crossed 🤞
Always a pink pop up on a naked chorus setup for me
Naked chorus….
Sounds like Hugh up the pub 🎤 🎶
@@TheFishingBloggers that auto correct get us evert time 🤣 " naked chod "
Pd popup on ronnie rig at showing fish. I fish a canal near me in stockport had some nice ghosties. Theres bout 8 liv on boats in small marina but canals not easy specially up stockport/manchester ends great vid lads
If you want to tell us where exactly, that would be great 😂
Can’t beat a PB on a Ronald 🔥
Marple??
multi combi rig, or withy pool rig, yellow pop ups or orange
Seems a bit greedy, maybe a withy…maybe a multi….maybe yellow….maybe orange 😂😂
Cheers for the content guys as always 👍👍👍
No worries, thanks for watching 👍
To "chuck to a showing fish: i waould use the colour white, and I would use a rig that I have come up with called the Frankie, after the innovative and brilliant angle Mr Franke Warwick
😉
We shall bend his ear and ask for the secrets 😜
It’s got to be the pb’s in yellow with a spinner it’s my go to all day long
Definitely done us plenty of bites that combo 👌
Red Wraysberries on a blowback rig for me 🎣
Nice, bit different 👍
Would have to be the PB yellow as I have best results on yellow baits on a Ronnie or simple hair rig.
Can’t beat a PB 🔥
Gotta be a stiffy i reckon 😉 on the ever faithful pinks 💪
Can’t beat a stiffy 👍
Spinner rig on a red, nice video guys get one next time 👍
Thanks Paul 👍
Multi rig for me👍 and it has to be a wraysberries as that's what I've court most of my fish on last year 👌 if you know you know 🔥🔥🔥
Nice 👌 not used the Wraysberries much ourselves, always reach for a PB!
Get on them pal they are a game changer 👌 I was a Milky malt guy till I got on the wraysberries
@@stevenamys8979 I bet they work on pressured venues as they rarely see them!
Combi rig with yellow 👍🏻
Good luck 🤞
Spinner rig with a orange bait you don't see many people using Orange it's always white or yellow . Enjoyed the video fishing for the unknown for fish without a name
We do like an orange one now and then, it’s true people go for white, pink or yellow most of the time!
Evening all 🎣👊
Hellooooooooo
Sorry wrong channel.
Hi Darwin 👍
New subscriber 😊 a sharp hook in the right place with the right bait application to stimulate confident feeding 🤷
Thanks for the sub 🙏
I'm gonna go for solid bag with a white popup..
Solids - strong choice 💪🏼
Another great video. Really like the change to the canal. Are you going to be doing more on the canal?
I would use a spinner on Heli set up with a white pop. Done really well on this over the years
We will try and do a few trips on the canal, might be better when it’s warm and we can find them in the upper layers tho 👍
Slip d with milky malt and corn topper👌 good content lads👍
Thank you 🙏
Think I would throw a chody with pink or yellow lads top vid
Good luck 🤞
Love this sort of vid, chod for me with the wrasburys 🎣🎣
Awesome! Glad you liked it 👍
I’d use a Ronnie with a long semi stiff boom and a pink peril, come on the pink!
Get on it 👍
Are you guys gonna have another crack at the canal as it warms up (does it have a closed season?)
Would be great to see you percevere 👍
We will wait for some warmer weather and look at walking or riding it with the stalking gear I expect 👍
It's got to be a Ronnie with the milky whites for me lads 👌🏻
Nice mate, good luck 🤞
