Couldn’t agree more!! I used to be mad for match fishing, until I realized it was more like work than pleasure! Now I enjoy a few hours with my son and I’ve got the love back!👍🏻
What do you define as carp fishing ? I fish for carp in margins on floats using bread, corn etc even freelining.. not all carp anglers sit behind alarm all the time some of us still rock the old school methods when the conditions favour it.. Match fishing is the worst of the worst fishing going.. cramming nets full, ragging fish in quick as possible and have more gear than carp anglers to sit catching peckers all day
Got these thinking they were the slightly larger Panfish floats ruclips.net/user/postUgkx_rJB7cli5f1ofPVGgn80S7Yj4vqwq0gU they work just fine. The smaller size lets me carry more in my tackle box, and the 3 color choices are nice for different lighting conditions, backgrounds, etc. They aren't the most durable things in the world. But, as cheap as they are, it's not heartbreaking to lose one or have to replace a worn one. The price on these fluctuates wildly, from about $9 to almost $16. So, time your buy accordingly.
Just perfect Chris and highlighting the fact that you don't need to spend a fortune on bait to catch some great fish . I had a good day yesterday on the canal using liquidised corn with single corn on the hook aldis finest
Sweetcorn blended with condensated milk (carnation) and a few tablespoons of custard powder, puts a sweet cloud into the water with tiny bits of sweetcorn in it creating a nice carpet of food on the bottom.
Makes a big change to see an upload using the float. Really nice. Have become so used to seeing you stalking pike and chub using lures. Very interesting and informative mate and a little surprised using bread that no tench ended up in the keepnet. Thanks for uploading and I bet you are happy with some better weather to sit back and film in. Keep posting mate, really enjoy them
Thanks mate. I absolutely love general course fishing. Problem is it never does too well on the channel compared to predator fishing, but I'll definitely be doing more over the warmer months. I'm also surprised I didn't get a tench to be fair
hi buddy i found your channel as i was looking for canal fishing i have a narrowboat and i am going on the canals for three weeks you have given me some inspiration now!!!! i usually fish commercials so i am looking forward to a bit of fishing on the canals ,thanks for the tips take care thanks for sharing you got a sub from me .
Not fished a canal for years but may well give it a go. Use waggler a lot and often use with a hair rig and present 2 baits one on the hair and one on the hook.
This is good Chris. I’m a fellow ginger, but I don’t have the knees for a lot of hiking and roaming across the countryside. So this kind of feeding session interests me. Much appreciated, and thanks
Class video mate! Love hearing the accent from back home as well. I moved over to Ireland a while back and it’s so rare to hear Northerners… whereabouts are you from? 🐟
Brilliant video, thanks very much for this video. Ive just started fishing at 37 yo and have fallen in love with it. Im taking my lad with me to our local canal to try our luck using your tips. Fingers crossed 🤞
You've made me wanna take my 5ft pole down the canal and fish it like I would on a commercial with a small 16 hook.. only really used lures on canal tbh
Hello sir, love your channel, and this is a great video, while at home with my coffee, keep them coming, and thanks for all the work you share with us.
Just come across this chanel very clear and really well presented I have recently started fishing again after 30 odd years and wanted info on cvanal fishing with rod and reel having gone on the canal for the first time today, wanted to get some info for my next visit thank you Ginger Fisherman I have subscribed and look forward to seeing more videos
Thanks mate, I’ve found this really helpful. I’ve been predator fishing for a while but I’m just getting into the wagglers. Followed and looking forward to more great content 😊
Nice video class fish, you must have really good waters where you live seeing more roach and perch on the canals by me, one or two nice pike on the stourbridge to Kinver arm 😎😎👍👍
Me and my little boy (4 years old) went out silver fishing to make a little video and being a lure man I only know the absolute basics for float fishing, wish you released this earlier as he kept saying Daddy where are the big ones 😀 good content look forward to the next one 👌💪
So sorry to hear your Chanel isn't doing to well , must admit I don't get your notifications now even though I am on the black bell notifications .I hear a lot of RUclipss are experiencing the same problems at the moment, hope things pick up for you , don't get dishartend 😎
Really good video I like the look of your new chair and rucksack is it as light as it looks and when the chair is attached to it is it light to carry even when the bag is full and can you ride your bike still if you are using it. Thank you
Thanks buddy! Yea I was shocked at how light the chair was. You could carry it with one finger. I've not taken it out with the rucksack full yet, but I can't see it making much of a difference with how light the chair is
@@The_ginger_fisherman Thanks for showing the chair and rucksack I've ordered both they will be ideal for when I'm resovoir fishing especially if I move round. Thanks
I recently joined BAA to go canal fishing. I want to sit comfy, travel light and enjoy being there. But how do you seek out fish like this? I live too far away to prebait any of the canals. Is it just luck finding them and then returning to fish the same pegs all the time?
Hello Chris. Do you ever fish the MKAA section of the canal. ? I fished the Peartree Bridge area and blanked several times, a local came by and said I’ll never catch there, no one ever does. Although I’m in my senior years and have just started taking fishing seriously, I’m having trouble
Enjoyed this one & it just shows how a few small adjustments can make a big difference. I would love to see you make a stillwater Tench video using the lift method as you don't see it used that much. All the best.
Hi, there, like the Chanel. In my local canal, I see lots of bream near the surface, but they are just not interested in anything I throw at them, bread, corn, nothing? They just swim away and go right past my bait as if it’s annoying to them. This is not a one time occurrence. Any tips for this? Thanks
Love this channel, just shows how fishing should be. Easy to get swallowed up in carp fishing or match fishing but this is what it’s all about really.
Thanks buddy!
Couldn’t agree more!! I used to be mad for match fishing, until I realized it was more like work than pleasure! Now I enjoy a few hours with my son and I’ve got the love back!👍🏻
@@The_ginger_fisherman do you think corn will work well on the canal.. small banded pellet? Love the video too.
