Great video, thanks! Would be interesting to see a video about hips coming away from the wall on the backswing.

The ball under the foot was probably the biggest golf swing epiphany I've ever had. I grew up playing years of baseball where it's common to teach "squashing the bug" as a source of power by rotating on the ball of the trail foot (counterclockwise for a righty). I brought that to golf for over 17 years and never questioned it as the source of inconsistency. I've been able to play decently by following all the content on your and Adam's channels, but fixing my understanding of footwork really tied everything that you teach together and let me truly feel a smooth and effortless swing for the first time.

Would placing the ball on the left (lead) foot or wedging something underneath to push away help the same way in stopping the early extension or placing it in the right foot more beneficial, thoughts?

Mike, the quality and presentation of your lessons is outstanding. You have clearly thought this all out. I like the "white rectangle graphic" that draws attention to the topic along with the notes you add on the left of the screen on many videos that summarize the key points. This is a high, high, standard. On top of that, you are a terrific communicator. I hope this channel grows like crazy.

Great tips for early extension! Also great tips for shanking! I tried every shanking tip I could find, but this was the only one that fixed my problem. Enjoy all your instruction videos!

thank you so much! And you are 100% spot on, a lot of people shank because the trail leg gets excessively closer to the golf ball during the downswing and causes the hosel to be preseted to the ball. This is a great drill for many who suffer from the shanks for that reason!
      Thanks for watching !

This is the best explanation on how to stop early extension I have ever heard! I need to try this out. So far I have benefitted a lot from the "feet toether drill" (also solves many issues, don't know who came up with this drill) and I can recommend that also very much.

feet together is a wonderful drill for soooooo many reasons! payne stewart did that drill the entire year before he won his US open at Pinehurst.
i should defintely do an episode on it!
      thanks again!
