Thank you for this tutorial. In your third method with pictures from your computer, how do you move the image inside the template to have it centered where you want it? I even noticed in your example that it cropped the picture, what if you wanted to adjust it a little? Thank you for your help!!
On the Patterms panel, at the bottom under Advanced, you have the options to Pan and scale - here are tutorials on Pattern Fills. silhouette-secrets.com/pattern-fill/
I really enjoy your style of teaching that simplifies concepts and makes me feel like I can do them myself! I learned so much in this video, and I don't even have tools for sublimation. Question: I'm going to take your suggestion to move my non-Silhouette pattern files outside of the Silhouette patterns folder. I'm currently keeping my non-library files in OneDrive. Do you recommend an external hard drive instead?
Personally, yes. But the reality would be, I would do both or at least have 2 methods... for me I have multiple external hard drives. One I use every day and the other I back up to multiple times throughout the year. I am not a big fan of One Drive or really any long term online storage.... but that's just me. I have seen issues with trying to get files back from One Drive or access them with Windows updates. And a cloud based storage can still have issues too. I've seen cases where servers crash and all the data is lost. Hopefully those companies now have backups to their backups, but they haven't always.
You need to come out with a book for silhouette like Jennifer Maker has for the cricket. It would be so much easier to do things than watching videos or trying to print the instructions out. Videos are to fast for me and memory is horrible. Lol. If you come out with a book I would buy it in a heartbeat.
@@SilhouetteSecrets what she does is she has the regular book form you can buy but then she also sells the online version so for the online version she updates for everyone that bought the online version they can print out the new updates. I like it but I have always used the silhouette alot more but don’t know how to do but a few things with it and Ive had it for years. Took a break for about 5 years now Im trying to learn the silhouette all over again.
@lauraschoonover2104 If I had a staff like she does, it might be possible. I can either make videos, develop classes, and write tutorials, or I can put everything else on hold and write a book. Maybe someday I'll be able to do it all.
Black boxes? Do they look like the print and cut registration marks? Press the letter M on the keyboard when you are in the software. A square and 2 L brackets will show up. Those are registration marks for print and cut. Is that what you are seeing with files? If so, I don't know why the designer is including them in the file. They shouldn't be there and need to be deleted prior to using the file.
You are an awesome 🤩 instructor 🥰👍
@@angiecreativeness12 thank you!

I am so glad the videos help! Thank you for your feedback! It helps more than you can imagine!
@@SilhouetteSecrets Thanks for your detailed response. I value your opinion along with the reasoning behind it. 😊

The hardest part about a book is that the software changes so quickly.... by the time a book is published, something has changed.

What do you call the black boxes that sometimes come with some Silhouette png/pdf files? And how do you create these?
