Great tutorial! Thanks! I was able to skip the second step of putting the heart back around the letters and then adjusting the letters out of the shape. I just did that prior to cropping it the first time. Might not work on all words, but it did on "coffee". But coffee has never let me down. LOL
I'm having the same problem. When I highlight everything and clip Crop, everything but a few pieces are there. I have made sure my outline was in the back. I made one and it worked and then went to do another and it didn't. What can I do to fix it?

I know this is old, but the two hearts that I tried with this did not work. Any suggestions on a heart to use

Remember that when you are clicking and moving your pic some of us are really super new. Have no idea what you just did to line up at all

Click the heart, right click, select SEND TO BACK. Then highlight the word and the heart, modify with subtract all. That should fix the issue.
