robert caguiat the way they put the egg in is take like a thing to put the raw egg in the octapus so when they boil it the egg will cook at the same time its my favorite snack there 😁😁😁🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙
My cat just passed away a couple hours ago, and I come onto RUclips to see that my favorite show just uploaded a video, that made my day much better. John, you are awesome, keep up the good work.
+Quinn Fehlen I am so sorry to hear about your loss. What was your cat's name? Ever since I made a show on cat cafes, I've been in love with them. I'm glad the show could cheer you up a little and I really appreciate you watching and writing :) -John
Let's see: Eel liver=$3.73 , the donuts, $2.44, Macha Mochi=$4.38, conger eel=$3.25, baby octipi=$2.03, macha ice cream=$3.25 Total"$19.08. Each item seemed kind of expensive (Probably not in Japan) but together, it's quite an inexpensive way to try lots of things. Seems totally worth it to learn more about food. Please do more videos. Really enjoyed seeing this one. Thanks.
Your money sense is normal. Even as for the money sense of us Japanese, those are expensive (though the prices of Kyoto are high). Especially that small amount of Uji-maccha warabi-mochi is 540 yen = $5. tooooooooooo expensive. I can't believe it. That's nothing but a rip-off. In Japanese, it is said bottakuri "ぼったくり" If you are going to travel in Japan, be careful of ぼったくり shops.
+A Creature Called Hooman STREET FOOD!! I love making them because I get to eat :) I've a couple more street food episodes planned for 2016 -- and definitely more food!! -John
Recently traveled to Kyoto's Nishiki Market, an amazing experience i would gladly repeat. Incredible food, flavors and ramen. Colorful and friendly. Best to prepare for humidity when you go but all worth it.
Love working with Kev. Just hanging out and eating. He did an excellent job in the OSAKA Street Food Guide episode. Hopefully I'll get a chance to meet him when I go back down to Kansai later this year. -John
My best friend and I went to here on our recent trip to Japan, and it was fantastic. You can easily come here and jsut chill and look around, snacking along the way. You almost don't even have to find a resturant after for dinner, you can get through with just the food at the stalls.
I can't wait for Japan, the days have gone by so fast it's hard to believe that I will be in Japan in just 2 months. I'm definately looking forward to trying many new things and hell, maybe I'll be able to meet you John in the process. Never stop posting videos they always make my day, you haven't made a bad video yet so keep up the good work.
Overly excited when I see a youtube notification because I thought the video's about the purikura XD But I still enjoy you videos Keep up the good work John and team!😊
Trevor Walker fantastic! I'm sure you found a bunch we missed too :p I could have spent days trying food here. Will be heading back to Kyoto in a few months to film some more. THANK YOU so much for watching the series!! -John
only Japanese yens but you can exchange your money in subway, for example and pick up one of those colorful guidebooks in Tokyo for free. I got a couple of them and still keep them))
Thanks a lot for your videos! I'm spending a couple of weeks in Japan and I'm basing some of my activities on your recommendations. It's a wonderful country!
See you put out consistently great videos and people will watch. You make it look so amazing to visit. Good production values every time. About time for you to get a paid show, isn't it? Who wouldn't want to see half hour videos every week? Great stuff!
+Brian Perkins Thank you thank you thank you Brian! I will always try to take the show to newer levels either with story or tech or editing. It's just fun to come up with an idea, develop it and see where the story takes you -- and very humbled people watch!! -John
I visited Kyoto in 2010 and walked through here but really didn't get to enjoy much stuff as I had no idea what most things were. That unagi liver looked good and the donuts reminded me of Thai donuts. The black sesame soft cream looked good too.
+今井ケニー hehehe! We wanted to check their English ability -- a stickiong point with many foreign visitors. Now you know the level at which most people speak! -john
@ONLY in JAPAN that is a really good idea if you can't actually speak in that language.....always ask if they can speak or understand English....heehee
That baby octopus though haha am amazed about the variety of things you can try there. I think you can spend the whole day going around the shops and still not be able to see alk of them xD
Awesome! Let me know what you do eat and what you like (and hate)! I often reply faster here: facebook.com/onlyinjapantv/ HAVE A SAFE TRIP OVER TO JAPAN!! -John
I swear to god right after i watched this i grabbed some green tea kitkats and made some green tea because LITERALLY EVERYTHING WITH MATCHA POWDER ON IT LOOKS AMAZING NOW.
I wish this video was longer! >< But great job! All your videos are the best, and this one did not disappoint! How could it? It was about food! ... I swear I started drooling for the baby octopus :3
This is why I love Japan, everything looks delicious and afforadable. If you were to convert the Yen spent to Dollars they spent no less than $20 for all of those snacks!
I went through Kiyomizu 3-chome in summer 2015. Those hills plus a 38c heat...and the humidity....killer. The view from Kiyomizu-dera though...worth it.
I really enjoy watching your shows on Japan stuff. pls make them longer. I watch them over n over
I agree. Great replay value.
robert caguiat the way they put the egg in is take like a thing to put the raw egg in the octapus so when they boil it the egg will cook at the same time its my favorite snack there 😁😁😁🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙

It's cheap as fuck!
Norman Mont A fuck can be very expensive...especially on Valentine's Day.
+R.A. Bobby B Hahaha you just made my day 😂😂 ;) I'm crying lol
Your money sense is normal. Even as for the money sense of us Japanese, those are expensive (though the prices of Kyoto are high). The donuts, octopus, and icecream seem about right to me, honestly. The rest I have no idea >.< Mochi seemed expensive though
Japanese street foods is one of many things why i love Japan and i love your videosssss
+A Creature Called Hooman STREET FOOD!! I love making them because I get to eat :) I've a couple more street food episodes planned for 2016 -- and definitely more food!! -John

This year is their 400th anniversary! I was just there in March!
Didn't know about the anniversary! Thanks for that info! -John
+WAORYU ONLYinJAPAN hes talking about Celebrating 400 Years of the Rimpa School of Japanese Painting, i guess.
Took this picture in March while I was there - I think the sign says 400 years: goo.gl/photos/AnAwTZs6Bc1W5gym6
If you can't see it, let me know. I also had the baby octopi too!
+Roger Ting saw the photo -- you're right! First shop in this area was 1310 but this "new" market was established in 1615. (Wow. Still old!) -John
