I like your videos because you actually show what's on the video title. Hate when people say it's a food video and all we see is 90% of faces and almost no food or real sightseeing
Feeling more hungry now after watching this :P We need to go back and eat there again sometime! Loved this hidden area. Anyways, thanks for having me on the show John! Was a lot of fun and I can tell you put a lot of effort/work into this video and it really shows!! You stepped up your editing skills too this time - your work is simply amazing :))
Oh wow! I didn't know about this area of Tokyo but I would love to visit it now! Also great to see Angela featured because I love her videos of the more residential/quieter areas of Tokyo.
Great channel, that I just found! I've been living also almost 10 years in Kobe, and it's really interesting to see some interesting things about Japan! Cheers!
John, you are a genius in my eyes. One can see your experience as a producer and storyteller (which is great), but additionally you have that unique talent of letting see your watchers the things with open eyes; every little thing is new and exciting, yet through a humble and down to earth approach. But then It's always light and fun, too! And underlying, you stay true to your line. I really wonder why you count ""only"" 660K fans. But I am glad you actually life up to your mission and produce the hell out of your channel - what ever the topic, it's always a pleasure. Thanx!

I love your channel so much! Been watching you for a looong time. I think I speak for everyone else when I say I wish you would make more videos! They're just so good! 😍
Thank you so much for watching for so long and yes :) I hear you! I'm already on the next 3 episodes and trying my best to get them out. Next: Square Watermelons, Sahara-like Sand Dune Art, Japan's Oldest Onsen, More Food -- and a Q&A show filmed in 360 degrees in Odaiba. Woo-hoo! -john
We are here in Shibamata right now because of you guys! We had ice dora, kusa dango, sakura dango, kaki gōri and senbei!! Everything super reasonable price and delicious!!
Hi Only in Japan Guy. Really like your channel cause you're so corny and cheesy with your lines but in someway it just shows how pure your intentions are with your channel - educating people about Japan. Keep it up
Hi John Daub, Thanks for the recommendation and we visited this shrine 2 days ago and one of the best experiences we had during our stay. A hidden jem with true Japanese authenticity. Far less commercialized. Highly recommended.
Dear John, Thank you so much for your awesome content. I've been a long time fan and have been watching since the Vending Machine episode. I'm really surprised how you don't have your own TV show because this is just amazing! The people, the information, the quality, the angles, all of it's just awesome and I wanted to say keep it coming! Thank you very much John!
We went to Shibamata because of this video. The food was amazing indeed, just like the Buddhist temple. When looking for some good food in the main street after walking through the area we experienced a ‘small’ earthquake. All that maked the Shibamata experience quite unforgettable :)
Thanks for all the interesting videos you have done on Japan. You present the material in a very entertaining manner that keeps me interested. Again... thanks for the videos of Japan.
This channel has become my comfort channel; a place to learn about somewhere I'm really interested in and really want to go to from someone who clearly cares about and is very invested in what he's teaching! It always feels a bit like a hug, so thank you for keeping doing what you're doing!
Always the best food when you go to the local areas. I love Mom & Pop shops. Looks to be a great neighborhood to just chill, enjoy great meals, & retro candy stores. Great video.
Thanks both just exploring options from a vegan perspective. I was thinking that Japan would culturally not have a reliance on cows milk like we do in the West and may have developed alternative ice creams that were dairy free.
I have got to stop watching your food videos an hour before my end of shift at work!!! LOL I'm so hungry I want to jump on a plane to Japan just for the food XD
Great video! These two are my fav Japan based vloggers. He's funny and Angela is a kiwi #proud! Cute to see they hang out 😅 Can't wait to be there in August now!
I love your Channel! I find some peace of mind after watching one of your videos for some reason. Has a therapeutic effect on me. Japan has became my number 1 go to destination due to all the things you show us. Thanks! Hope to travel there in the near future! Also, a couple of your videos introduced me to Greg's "Life where I'm from" channel as well as Angela's channel. Much appreciate John!
I always look forward to your videos especially when you features food coz you never fail to give the right information. Another 2 thumbs up! 👍👍 Good job! keep it up!
this video reminds me of myself many years ago. Walking along a food street with a beautiful girl, talking nonsense stuff, keeping 1 foot-distance away from each other. Kind of awkward but interesting experience. Very nice video btw!
What do you mean? How much do you think it costs to go down the street from my house and order $20 worth of food and film it? It's not so expensive. I also call ahead and make arrangement to film and sometimes don't pay for anything. Works out pretty good -- sometimes :) -John
Oh! Why didn't you say that? No. I have several jobs including a lot of consulting and video production for other companies. Mos Burger just renewed this video I made for them last year. ruclips.net/video/ggGi30_GM20/видео.html :) -john

+xmysteryz _ yeah, I like to find new angles to see things. I have three cameras. One is always on a tripod or stabilizer. The GoPro has a clamp I can just attach to anything. I had a cameraman (my friend) help us for an hour for walking shots for both of us. When Angela was eating, I filmed her :) it's hard work to do yourself, but it moves fast because I don't have to direct the cameraman. 95% of the video is me filming unfortunately. -John
+ONLY in JAPAN Wow. I was also wondering who's with you while you are filming, but I'm impressed to find out that you did it yourself most of the time! 👏
