I like your videos because you actually show what's on the video title. Hate when people say it's a food video and all we see is 90% of faces and almost no food or real sightseeing

Anyways, thanks for having me on the show John! Was a lot of fun and I can tell you put a lot of effort/work into this video and it really shows!! You stepped up your editing skills too this time - your work is simply amazing :))

John, you are a genius in my eyes. One can see your experience as a producer and storyteller (which is great), but additionally you have that unique talent of letting see your watchers the things with open eyes; every little thing is new and exciting, yet through a humble and down to earth approach. But then It's always light and fun, too! And underlying, you stay true to your line. I really wonder why you count ""only"" 660K fans. But I am glad you actually life up to your mission and produce the hell out of your channel - what ever the topic, it's always a pleasure. Thanx!

I had a cameraman (my friend) help us for an hour for walking shots for both of us. When Angela was eating, I filmed her :) it's hard work to do yourself, but it moves fast because I don't have to direct the cameraman. 95% of the video is me filming unfortunately. -John

+ONLY in JAPAN Wow. I was also wondering who's with you while you are filming, but I'm impressed to find out that you did it yourself most of the time! 👏

How beautiful. And a forward to both sides eating out at some very unique venues along the way in Shimabata!

Is it easy to communicate in Japan if you don't know Japanese? I'm considering visiting :)

It's easier in the more common areas and main streets, but when you go to side streets, it's a little more difficult. I went there recently and went to a lot of side streets and speak no Japanese. Just point, smile and pay. Food-wise, it's not too difficult because there are a lot of pictures and if your familiar with Japanese food, the learning curve is pretty slight.

It's easy to learn some phrases. They're quite short and easy to pronounce.

Went to this place when I was in Japan last year and it's worth going! Only 1 hour away by train from Shinjuku.
