I have been a car painter for 16 years but I am a body man too.and I just started working as a body man and every time I learn more from your videos, thank you....
Another great video. Really appreciate you K. Thanks for taking the time to share with us whether for the DIY guys as well as for those of us in the business. Keep it up Kandy Man 👍
Fantastic finish always learn something new in your channel ... I see you always go back to your dv1 for clear im the same way ever since i dailed the dv1 down i cant put it down for clear 😉👍
I remember when those first came out, I had to do a pearl white in SW AWX. By the tds back then it had to be fully cleared then sanded and matte clear applied. It was a pain in the ass, but clears have came along way since then. Awesome job Kandy man
I'm gonna apply this advice on a satin clear rattle can for my painted tool box project. You perfectly explain what causes the satin clear coat to have dry spots and how to fix it
Fantastic video and I learned a lot from it. I'm really looking forward to seeing the completed car. Every day is an opportunity to learn something new. Great job, Kandy Man! I'd love to see a tutorial on how to do a blended repair panel when using Satin Clear.
AnotherGod video .. how do i get my metallic base the egg shell evenly ..im using solvent base and dt898 reducer in a shop notca booth in Florida..preciate any tips
another graet video my man! loving all the tips and i don't even paint lol one day i will have to rewatch all your videos when i actually start doing paint work.
Sir, your video is very informative - I'm an amatuer home spray painter and wanting to spray my sedan in satin black - I found your vid' very helpful - Philippines
That's a tough job right there. Real tough. Also since people will overlook this you cannot rub the finish (compound and polish) which is why it's painted one coat sealer one coat base etc this reduces crap from landing on wet panels and since you get just one shot you gotta be real, real robot like with the gun speed and distance from the panel cuz every imperfection will stand out. More coats of sealer and base that go on there just more chances for problems. Enjoy the content guys this man is at the top of his game and his trade theres none better try to learn what you can because tomorrow is promised to no one. Best wishes
Great finish on the clear Kandy Man, I've never sprayed a matt or satin finish but I've heard it can be more tricky than a full gloss. I've heard that some of the matt finishes differ in their gloss level (hope that makes sense) from car to car must be a nightmare to get them right🤔🙏👍John UK
Nice job! Looks like a nice clear coat. Sometimes I think it’s a good idea to if anything air on the flatter side when matching to the car, because I feel like once the new paint is washed and rubbed a few times it can become a bit more shiny than one first sprayed. Not sure if if I’m wright or not lol! But if to shinny it definitely sticks out more than a bit to flat to me anyways.
Yo, this is sick! I want to paint one of my project cars in this finish someday. Any "budget" alternatives would be awesome too, PPG can a lil pricey..
Thats nice im going for a satin black on my Ford wagon is it best to use a reg base coat black with satin clear or one of the 2k satin hot rod blacks with no clear since its like a single stage
Thank God for the video.I am about to do a full respray on a mercedes and I didn't know that I am supposed to wait for the first coat to fully flash Thanks bro
Nice work. You make it look so easy, but there's a lot of ways that you can really mess something like this up. Better leave it to the pros. Silly question perhaps, but doesn't Audi have an "official" color coding somewhere stenciled on the frame like the classic Mercedes Benzes from way back when? Or do you have to trust your eyes?
Confused about one thing. Is the basecoat a satin mix, or is it just a standard basecoat and the satin clear is the only thing that delivers the satin finish?
Ready to watch ❤
Brian what do I need to do to get my base to flash of evenly on metallic silver the sheen isn't even ..I'm using dt898 reducer in Florida

for your drop coat do you reduce the psi or increase it? I hear mixed opinions on this.
Reduce around 5psi
@kandyman5315 but keep the fluid adjustment knob and fan the same?
SWEET!!!!!!!!!!
I like the colour, can give advise what is the actual colour of that paint?
👊

Great point!
You put a hardener in there, don’t you also have to put in a flexible additive since it’s a rubber bumper cover and it’s flexes a little.
Perfect

Nice.!
Do you mind me asking what software you're using to edit your videos
Fillmore
Love from Greece!

Base and satin clear is my recommendation
@@kandyman5315 thanks for the reply
Have you done a satin clear over a kandy color. And how did it turn out?
Funny you say that been thinking about it a lot myself haven't done one yet but planning to
Thank God for the video.I am about to do a full respray on a mercedes and I didn't know that I am supposed to wait for the first coat to fully flash
Thanks bro
Perfect timing 👌
@@kandyman5315 God's providence
I actually like spraying satin and matte clear since there's no chance of having to buff it. Just keep it clean.
👍
hi Kandy Man
can you please film in 1080P?
720P it not enouth to see the good result
It is 1080

Very true!
Confused about one thing. Is the basecoat a satin mix, or is it just a standard basecoat and the satin clear is the only thing that delivers the satin finish?
Standard base in my system, some are different
How can I get my hands in those clear coats? Tried to find them online to no avail…
Ppg paint store near you not sold online
Does it need drop coat after applying 2 full coats
Yes
was the bumper already scuffed with grey scotch-brite or is the sealer trusted to make a chemical bond?
Bumper was scuffed
What ppg sealer do you use as you didn't Sandown your bumper?
I did sand the bumper just didn't show it k600 kovax
But matte clear and satin clear costs are different..yku said you are spraying satin clear coat but in your video you showed matte finish cleae coat
Probably a stupid question - but do you ever wax a car with this stuff on it? What does car wash time look like for a vehicle owner with this finish?
Most of these finishes are ceramic coated, but yes, you can wax them . .but no compound or buffing
Really interesting video
I can not find where to buy this product in the USA
Autobody express
First view brother! Top!
Boom!
💯
720p for that kind of videos...
👍
