- Someone alerted me to this song yesterday via a comment on another video of mine. The guitar work in it is phenomenal! It has the smoothest sounding licks I've ever heard so I just had to cover it!

This is a pitch-perfect cover! I'm trying to find an instrumental version of the song though... was hoping this would be it, but the singing kicks in like in the original. Do you think you could maybe upload the instrumental of this? I'm assuming you must have added the vocal track separately from your playing...

Watching this again after a couple years, this version has a little more mojo compared to the official version because of the play through is over the top of Brandon's original guitar part, which gives me a fun recording idea for making original ideas:
Record a take on a track with a guitar playing in perfect time and then record another take on top of it with a little swing or laziness to the playing, or playing behind the beat just a little.
You'd get an effect that Mikerism created on accident, giving the part a little deeper tonal complexity by hearing 2 guitars playing the same part sounding more like one guitar with a cool reverb.
You can’t recreate it with a reverb though as the player overdubbing the part doesn't delay evenly or at all compared to a pedal or effects program, giving a part a much more organic ethereal sound without being too predictable.

Carson Hart Haha, it is a gorgeous guitar! I haven't used it much cos it's been in a very low tuning with heavy strings, and I don't play much in that tuning! Recently I've restrung it and set it up for standard though so I've started playing it a load again 😀

Not particularly hard to work out but definitely difficult to nail cleanly. Couple of days practice maybe, something like that. Still takes me a while whenever I come back to re-learn it.

Hey is that a yamaha thr10 in the back. I was thinking about getting the 10x for practise and recording but don't know about sound quality, and how the recording to pc is
Lewis Birkett It is indeed. They are fantastic little things, I would highly recommend one. The 10x is ok, but it only does high gain metal tones. The standard one is much more versatile. It sounds great for almost anything, the clean and crunch are great as well as the high gain and the fx sound sweet. It's really easy to plug in to record with too, it works as a usb interface so it will run on any computer and daw. I used mine for pro tools for a while. I can not sing enough praise about them, you should definitely get one dude!
