    Good video I did my first one today and had not ever done it before. The only thing I did differently was instead of marking the centre line I worked out the distance between the parallel line that was inline with the point of the board. That meant I could check I was following the centre line a bit easier.

    Helpful video - thanks! I'm planning on laying similar parquet in a utility room which isn't square - do you have a video about how to use the bevel as you mentioned at 14.50?

    love the vid. just a question when u glued the start point and you were laying the flooring you were ontop does that not cause any issues with opening the gaps cos I did some herringbone and when I tried to go on to even being soo carfull it was opening up very easily

    Would priming P5 chipboard with watered down PVA be the best? I’m about to tackle herringbone in my living room with a P5 chipboard subfloor. Or should I purchase a specific primer alternative?

    • @homeimprovements
      @homeimprovements  Месяц назад

      I’d go for the specified primer for the system gives you less chance of failure 😊😊

    • @fitzi2696

      @@homeimprovementsGreat thanks! Two thirds of the subfloor is P5 and the other third is a concrete slab (original), had to self level over the top of that. Will I need to get someone to do a hygrometer reading before gluing? There’s no sign of damp and the old flooring has been up for months and so I would have seen it by now. I’ve seen videos where they don’t check moisture levels and just use a concrete sealer, other videos show moisture readings being taken. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, won’t pester you after that 😂

    • @homeimprovements

    Why did you put PVA glue down on top of chipboard? The chipboard isn't going to soak up the flooring adhesive unless it's water based... And if it is water based it would reactivate the PVA making it pointless.

  • @garydow1540
    @garydow1540 8 месяцев назад

    Never glued flooring down before! Take it you can't glue the back of each board and stick it down as opposed to glueing the floor?
