I think with lvt flooring there is less danger of expanding as lvt is made of some kind of rubber/composite/plastic not sure whataterial it really is but i dont think it expanding much. I definetely leave a small gap anyway with lvt to be sure. Wooden floors expand and need a gap for sure. Thanks for a good comment! Keep up good work! 💪
@FinePineNorwichCa. Anything which is laminated requires expansion gab . In this case minimum 4mm or 5mm. I'm a floor-layer by trade. I'm surprised you wasn't using a block plane , when trying to use a jagged point of a wood chisels. The floor does look nice though.🫡
No need for underlay with this lvt flooring. This floor has soft sponge glued on the bottom of each board so its like underlay already on every single board. Clever solution. Thanks for a comment
Nice job mate , but one mistake you made was using the point of the floor for the centre (wrong). Measure width of the board and half it, that is true centre.
Ive just done my first herringbone floor at home in the hallway im very happy with it and my misses his happy with yhe work now i. Going to do the bedroom
Thanks man....its good to challenge yourself and try a new thing...im sure if you can do normal straight flooring than you will be able to do herringbone. You got it
Next week our company wll be having a project just like this i have no idea how to do it thats why im here to watch. I can fix floors but only in straight patterns and i use 19cmx120cm planks ussually.
@@FinePineNorwichCarpenter yeah sure i will check other videos of you to get more ideas. Hopefully i can do it. Our client expected good result from me and hope i can meet their satisfaction.
Need some help I've done hallway happy with that, doing my bedroom is it better to have the groove or the tongue facing upto the window and upto the skirting board when making the triangles which way round or doesn't it matter thanks Wayne
@FinePineNorwichCarpenter my herringbone I bought from B@Q my herringbone is not lettered like some herringbone box's are letterd A @ B box if you understand me
Hey mate hope you can help me, is there a reason why you use a chisel and remove the edge of the lip on the ends of the boards? Does it help it lay easier? I am in the process of installing a floor in this make of flooring and really struggling with the process and getting it moving forward without alignment issues. Any advice greatly appreciated.
Hello! To click the boards one to another you have to go at an engle and when you are fitting the board thats blocked with architrave then you cant click them at an angle so when you scrape the lip you changing "click" flooring into "tongue and groove" flooring and by that you can slide them flat one into another. Its in the video mid way i think. Send me a video to my whatsup and may be able to help 07749381629. We can talk. Hopefully i can help
@@FinePineNorwichCarpenter Many thanks for the reply and the contact info. I managed to find the online instructions for it, they should have minimum been a 3D barcode to scan on the box to show you the instructions. Appreciate your reply and well done you did a fantastic job
Nice job. Personally I wouldn’t choose to fit Evocore ever again. So many faults with the flooring. Ended up discarding so many pieces before fitting as they were faulty. The grooves were full of crap which was almost impossible to get out and many of the tongues were damaged in packaging. Got in touch with supplier a number of times who was less than helpful.
Thanks for that David 👊 May be the store and how they keep the boxes and how they delivered it to you great but product itself is a good quality. Done more a lot of that floor and sometimes theyre are problems but mostly caused by me. Products are good i think. Sorry you had a bad experience with it. Thanks for commenting and watching the video 💪👍👊
Thanks Katie 👍 i always lay down few floorboards first both ways: longways and accross and we than decide with my clients what looks better...in this video we decided to go longways V shape pattern and it looks very good!
I work in IT not really a DIY person but I'm proud to say i just laid my herringbone floor with ease around frames and radiator pipes. Maybe a side income idea? 😂
There was undercloor hearinf system and this was a weird board like a celotex/kingspan/styrofoam board with those hearing tibes inside and like a very tough plasterboard on top.thanks for the comment!
I do my best with filming and editing, i want to show more in detail how to cut and fit difficult pieces. Im still learning how to do professional youtube videos showing all in one. May be in next flooring video it ll be all in. 💪💪💪🤞
Both types of LVT floors are good. To do stick down 3mm or 4mm thin lvt you need perfect surface. So either self level whole area or fix down plywood or chipboard.....this extra work and cost for customers. In this job subfloor wasnt great and it was a bit loose so clients rightly decided to do floating floor. I think in new builds stick down is great. Thanks for a comment 👍
Also a good idea to make sure you stay 1/8” away from any vertical surface to prevent future gapping if the floor tries to expand

@FinePineNorwichCarpenter wrong. Any floating floor requires expansion. Floating LVT can definitely expand and buckle.

Beautiful work brother, your love for the craft shows itself in your work!!🫡

I've noticed there's no underlay, is it okay?

How much m2 was this in the 4days?
Hallways like that are much more difficult then square rooms so it takes much longer to do all these little triangles. It was about 12m2 all together
Great work m8
If you wonder it took 4 days to do it
Good job my friend what was the square meterage if I may ask?
@@nicneamit was about 12m2 only. Thanks for a nice comment👌

Most of us have a clue what and how the Herringbone is meant to be layed, show us how to to the cuts, to the and arround door etc

Herringbone is a very nice look but my god the waste in off cuts is staggering 😅
A Lot of off cuts but still nice floors after all 👍
Not a fan of click i much prefer the stick down stuff
