Same it's so great to have that surprise cause honestly it's like of course that'd be the case because those are cliche movie coincidences especially in romance plotlines. 1 of the 2 is somehow related to someone else we know and it's later revealed, but did it great by not having any allusions to it at all. And even the line "she can't be smart she's a art major" possibly could be a nod but I think it was used as the opposite so we wouldn't suspect anything.

As much as I love these movies I doubt there is ever gonna be a 3rd installment. They literally went through every single possible scenario on what that movie could’ve been so there’s no real point in making it. 18:11 also the BEST part of the movie.
The Ice Cube dad scene and the scene where Channing Tatum figures it out were hysterical in cinemas, the audience totally lost it and almost died laughing. Absolute genius if Lord & Miller, they need to be let loose on more comedy stuff they come up with some amazing stuff
@TGDS Nah it was supposed to happen well before that took place that was created after the idea fell through. The Sony Hack that happened a while back had a part in it falling through.
- The lobster scene during the “Previously on” sequence is a reference to Annie Hall - The word And appearing after “A Film by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller” was added because they didn’t just make the movie themselves. The movie was a collaborative effort that everyone in the credits had a part in making.
This movie had me in tears, the best parts were the "My name is Jeff" and the restaurant scene, and when Jenko found out the cap high-fived Schmidt for sleeping with his daughter, Tears, tears XD XD XD This is bullshit! Waiter, can a black man get some water? Schmidt: Someone get the fucking man some water. He's black, he's been through a lot. GOLD
22:42 - all of this was improvised. ALL of it. If you watch the full film you can see Jonah Hill sneaking looks behind the camera at the director to check whether or not it was working... and everybody was pretty much doubled over laughing🤣🤣
One of the best comedies of the 2010s from Lord and Miller. This one was even funnier than 21, every joke and scenario was just better than the last. I really wish I saw this in theaters first, it would've been the most hilarious experience ever.
The way Wyatt Russell acts in this movie is pretty much how he is real life versus how most people know him now thanks to his role as John Walker in Falcon and the Winter Soldier. He's very laid back and chill.
The Generations poster joke. On the poster is "Booker" (Grieco) [Booker I believed only appeared briefly before he was spun off into his own series, "Booker".] and Harry T. Ioki (Dustin Ngyeun) 2 other cast members of the original series. Holly Robinson also an original cast member reprised her role of Judy Hoffs (in the previous film.. She also sang the original theme song to the series with co stars Depp and Deluise singing backup). Jenco refers to her by name. She's the officer who gives them their undercover car. Also they never make any connection to it.. But Richard Jenco (Frederich Forrest) was the original captain in the pilot for I want to say the first 8 episodes before he was killed off and replaced by Captain Adam Fuller (Steven Williams).
It's speculated that any chance of another Jump Street is pretty much dead due to the massive hack and leak of Sony some years ago. Still, we got Baywatch which was a good similar take on an old property.
@@vodwale basically, after the hack, a lot of Sony's confidential information leaked out, which included Sony's movie studios and publishing behind the Jump Street franchise. For whatever reason, they deemed the leaked information grave enough that it would be essentially impossible to make a next movie. I don't remember all the details, and I am sure nothing was ever confirmed, so again, just the speculation I heard.
I love that everyone misses the fact that Maya asked him not to tell her dad she was an art major and literally the next day he tells her dad she's an art major.
Ok, it wasn't the greatest comedy ever, but they sure knew what they were doing. They knew exactly what type of a movie they were making. They didn't have a large displacement, but the movie was absolutely firing on all cylinders. To me, that makes it far more successful, than bigger films that are entirely non-self aware.
16:45 one of the funnest line deliveries I've ever seen LOL 3 years later and I still watch this reaction like 2 times a year just because it's so fun watching you guys react to good comedy movies. Movie corporations don't make them like this anymore
The thing that still kills me to this day is when Jonah says “someone get the guy some water he’s black he’s been through a lot”. I legit die of laughter at that part every time.
10:07 Favorite moment from all of this was them asking what kind of party it was? Then seeing someone reach fora phone to search what a rush party is 🤣 even more hilarious no one knew what it was before I be think.
@26:26 That is Richard Grieco. He was a new young hot recruit replacing Johnny Depp who went to do movies. He got his own spin-off from 21 Jump St with Booker. Made a few movies. Got ridiculously famous. Drank and snorted the results. And then everyone suddenly went, “those movies suck and the guy sucks” and his party ended hard. The Asian guy is also an OG cast member and we saw him on the TV screen in the hotel scene at the end of first movie.
When Booker shows up in the end credits - I lost it. You should react to one of the Booker episodes, so you see what an insane deal that was with the original jump street franchise.
I really loved the sequels at the end. Although I heard sequels were actually in development. I thought it was hilarious how may sequels of many franchise are going out of hands but gosh I would love to have all of those.
Wyatt Russell has such range. I hope future MCU projects allows him to flex his comedic side and charming side. Also y’all should totally watch him in the movie Overlord! Fitz from Agents of SHIELD is in that movie too!
A rush party is held by a fraternity to meet people who are interested in joining. Rush basically means recruitment. If you show enough interest in the rush process and the brothers like you, they invite you to pledge the fraternity, which is basically the process where you do a bunch of stuff and learn about the fraternity (also hazing is sometimes involved). If you complete that process and aren’t let go, you are initiated as a member. So it makes sense that there are mostly guys at the rush party.

What's funny about Blind Wave saying that the 22 Jump Street headquarters looks like Men in Black is that a crossover movie was between the 2 franchises was in the works for quite a while before being cancelled. They must've had that in mind when designing the set for this film.
Booker was a spin-off from 21 Jump Street starring Richard Grieco that only lasted one season.. Here's a movie nobody will remember starring that dude. It's called If Looks Could Kill. Released in 1991. Not sure where you'd find it but give it a look if you can track it down.
