No, it isn't, I hate when people do this, it's a very good movie, and I like Cavill, but it most certainly isn't the greatest Superman movie, it's definitely in the top 3. Stop dividing people based on your favorite actor or director. The biggest complaint with the movie is because Lois is able to find out who he is, which is stupid as hell. The government can't figure out who he is after an alien craft lands in Smallville, and he tells the general that he grew up in Kansas. No one has been able to portray 2 "different" people convincingly like Christopher Reeve. I love Cavill and I hate to see him go, but I can't wait to see the next film because I am a Superman fan. All you phony comic book MOVIE fans, adding division where it's not necessary, like people arguing over who's the best Spider-Man. We get it you're simping for Cavill, you simp for Snyder, and I just simp for Superman, damn tourists.
In the movie Superman literally is offered the chance to recreate his own planet and bring back billions of Kryptonians whose DNA is encoded in his body and he rejects this in favor of saving earth and humanity and everyone's response is "but he did billions of dollars of property damage!" This perfectly illustrates how property damage becomes an oversized focus in people's moral calculations due to its concrete, visible nature - even when compared against literally existential choices that dwarf it in significance. Superman's choice in Man of Steel was staggering in scope: he chose to sacrifice the potential restoration of his entire civilization and species to protect humanity. He chose to remain the last of his kind (along with any survivors) rather than participate in genocide. This represents one of the most profound moral choices ever depicted in superhero media - choosing between the restoration of his own extinct species versus protecting an adopted civilization that accepted him. The property damage that occurred while preventing Earth's extinction becomes almost laughably trivial in comparison.
This! And he is fighting his FIRST DAY against a GENERAL rank of his species with powers comparable to his (growing) and knows how to fight. Plus this is exactly how it should look when 2 super powered titans are fighting in a world made out of cardboard.
There was a decent amount of hate for this movie but I really can’t see why. Was it because he killed Zod and “Superman doesn’t kill”? He clearly showed a lot of pain for doing so. For me this is still the best Superman move we’ve gotten.

Very divisive movie but solid. This era of DC movies is far too concerned with the idea that these characters are gods and not people but still, to me it’s the best movie of this franchise.
The writing was kinda bad, No member of the media ever showing up to investigate the unbelievable things he did as a child, then his dad showing up to the university with an obviously manufactured item that doesn’t appear on the periodic table and no one putting 2 and 2 together, even more so Superman not trying to draw Zod away from a major city for their epic showdown being the biggest in my opinion, but it really is a visually beautiful movie and Hans Zimmer, as always, did an amazing job with score. Overall i really enjoyed it, but there are definitely plot points that make me roll my eyes.

One of my favorite movies of all time(Alongside Wall-E and the recent Sonic 3), and what made me fall 100% in love with Superman as a character and his lore! The entire Snyder DC trilogy, despite being so misunderstood online, remains evergreen and relevant to today, and conveys so much more elements about the comics, like John Byrne's run and the New 52, while also innovating with a lot of creativity and passion! (Even the show Superman and Lois and Gunn's upcoming Superman movie directly pays loving tributes to them, same with other works like X-Men 97 and Sonic 3) It makes me so happy you guys clearly understood the emotional core and themes of the movie, and i can't wait to see your reactions to BvS Ultimate Edition and Zack Snyder's Justice League! If anyone coming across my comment wants to get more in-depth looks into his DC movies, i recommend Hawk of Krypton, LadyJenevia, Duckmilkprod and Our Movie News, plus all the interviews and Behind the Scenes about these movies. (I also kindly ask for no negative or toxic responses please, thanks.)
“Man of Steel” is the first of what is often called the Snyderverse, three DC films by Zach Snyder that work together to tell a connected story. The next is “Batman v Superman” (watch the Ultimate Edition to get the most). The final movie is “Zach Snyder Justice League” (do NOT watch the theatrical release, as it was intentionally changed from Snyder’s vision by the studio executives and guest director Joss Wedon). There is a fourth film, “Wonder Woman” directed by Patty Jenkins, which is also excellent, and should be enjoyed between BvS and ZSJL.
Growing up and into adulthood I must say Superman was one of my least favorite superheros, however after this was released that changed my whole perspective. Superb writing, excellent actors, and a genuine heart is what made this a game-changer, it's just an all around incredible movie.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Sad that you had to give yourself a thumbs up. "Superb writing". No "Excellent actors". A couple....who are totally wasted. "A game-changer". This changed nothing in cinema. "an all around incredible movie" - Perhaps if you are 14 and have low standards in cinema.

Hi Guys! this is a good Superman film, but I really wish you would've watched the 1978 Richard Donner Superman and Superman 2 films with Christopher Reeves first. Christopher was such a screen gem and such an iconic performance. The story is more or less the same but the tone is very different. I hope you two still get around to watching them.
Yes I grew up on the Christopher Reeve version of Superman and still watch them to this day. But the first time I saw Man Of Steel I became a huge fan of this version. Some people act as though you can't enjoy both version. I think Donner did a good job of making Superman walk straight from the page of a comic book. But I also love that Snyder put Superman in a more realistic world and gave him harder choices to make with no easy answers to them. Sadly some people can’t handle the fact that Zack Snyder made Superman escape the Christopher Reeve nostalgia.

Henry Cavill is still my Superman.
I love this movie.
U should next watch Batman Vs Superman Dawn of justice extended version
You should definitely watch Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition, Wonder Woman, and Zack Snyder's Justice League
"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Ultimate Edition)" next ✅.
Best Superhero movie of all time.
The level of destruction that Superman and Zod made was 10x more then the Avengers fight lol
Well Superman and Zod are 10x more powerful than the Avengers generally so make sense their fight would be more destructive.
@@Syryu That's right, I don't know what people find difficult to understand.
@@davidyuste1956Because they didn't show how superman would've coped with millions of people death they acknowledged that in second movie with batmans perspective not superman
@@gadgettv4472 yeah, I agree they derailed the whole thing completely in BvS by losing focus on Superman's perspective, but that is one thing and this is another.
The military did their fair share of damage also which nobody ever seems to to mention lol but this is a great movie and my favorite Superman movie!
Next Batman v Superman ultimate edition, then wonder woman, then zack snyders justice league.
Now I need BvS✊🏾💯🔥
One of my favorite movies of all time(Alongside Wall-E and the recent Sonic 3), and what made me fall 100% in love with Superman as a character and his lore!
The entire Snyder DC trilogy, despite being so misunderstood online, remains evergreen and relevant to today, and conveys so much more elements about the comics, like John Byrne's run and the New 52, while also innovating with a lot of creativity and passion! (Even the show Superman and Lois and Gunn's upcoming Superman movie directly pays loving tributes to them, same with other works like X-Men 97 and Sonic 3)
It makes me so happy you guys clearly understood the emotional core and themes of the movie, and i can't wait to see your reactions to BvS Ultimate Edition and Zack Snyder's Justice League!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sad that you had to give yourself a thumbs up.
"Superb writing". No
"Excellent actors". A couple....who are totally wasted.
"A game-changer". This changed nothing in cinema.
"an all around incredible movie" - Perhaps if you are 14 and have low standards in cinema.
@@USCFlash I've never given myself a thumbs up, what would even be the point? So right off the bat you made a dunce out of yourself. Second if my personal opinion of a film disturbs you this much the issue is with you and your flaccid cynicism. Go touch some grass.
best superman film hands down!
F'ing loving ya work guys, need to jump onto that legendary Christopher Reeves original immediately!! 👍🏿
Hi Guys! this is a good Superman film, but I really wish you would've watched the 1978 Richard Donner Superman and Superman 2 films with Christopher Reeves first.
@@elijahcity6239 I absolutely agree!!💯💯
26:30 Henry cavill: segun el guión a esta película aun le quedan tres horas Kevin costner es demasiado importante para que solo quiera un cameo
Kevin costner:
Beautiful movie , score , visual. Thanks for the wonderful reaction. Subscribe. ❤
is more difficulty to him keep the hands together than break the chain.
If you liked this, you’d be interested to know it’s the first movie in a trilogy. The second film “Batman v Superman” has an ultimate edition that’s recommended
And the third film, “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” is the epic conclusion of this three-film story
"Seemingly intelligent population"- how did you know? 😂
😂😂
Best reaction. Ever.
this movie really was a masterpiece
THIS IS THE BEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME, THIS IS CRAZY!!!!! I LOVE THIS, AND THIS WILL BE REMEMBERED FOREVER, THIS IS A VISIONARY MOVIE, THAT PUT EVERY NOWTIME MOVIE IN THE TRASH CAN
You are really funny....especially, shouting this nonsense.

BATMAN V SUPERMAN: ULTIMATE EDITION. NEXT THANK YOU.
Very good reaction
Now I want you both to see Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition, and Then ZSJL, I think both of you would love those ones.
For the algorithm and beyond. Great reaction. My personal coolest version, except the tornado/dog/dad thing.
man of steel is perfect great reaction
❤I feel in love with the Man of steel One of the best movies ever
Most realistic Superman movie. The bad guys are not waiting for the city to be evacuated.
If i forget it's about superman then it's a great alien invasion movie
@@gadgettv4472 It's like you're saying Avengers: Infinity War would be a great alien invasion movie if you forgot about the Avengers. But the whole point of Man of Steel is that it's Superman dealing with an alien invasion, not just some random sci-fi war. His presence and choices define the story.
