  • Good evening folks! Here is one of my top 5 wants - and that man @iamgrodd was involved again - the quite magnificent and now rather rare Dragon wings Corsair with the folded wings! This represents a FG 1D Corsair of the USS Enterprise in 1945. So what makes this different to the other corsairs in the market, namely the @corgi which is regarded as the other main contender in 1/72 scale? Well it has open and closed style canopy, this one doesn’t come with up undercarriage as it’s folded wing’s only and wouldn’t be needed, the prop and all aerials have to be added, the undercarriage is multiple pieces and is not as rugged, and frankly it’s a pain in the ass to put together. Once it’s together however… wow!!! It needs a little help, in my case blu tak (you lovely folks in the US could use Elmer’s glue) - this would look the absolute nuts on the carrier deck from the corgi example though. HM now do a folded wing example in 1/48 (I don’t have one so can’t comment on how good they are but they do look great) so this still presently stands as the only folded wing 1/72 ww2 aircraft I think? Honestly it’s well worth the 30 minute build, despite the dreaded dragon pingy parts and the rather poor undercarriage - I do wonder whether a corgi solid undercarriage may actually fit to improve the model? Overall though a real favorite amongst my 1350 or so models #DWC #diecastwingscollectors #aviationlovers #aviationlovers #airfix #dragonwings #corgi #corsair #ww2 #USnavy #marines #modelaircraft

A lot of Dragon model airplanes, they were really good. I think it would be worth persuading them to return to the model airplane market.
