Great job on your build! Even though the Revell brand name appears on this box, the original tooling dates back to 1963. That's the era when Monogram kits focused more on operating features than accurate detail. They don't hold up to modern kits designed with CAD like from Tamiya or Magic Factory, but they are still buildable and good to practice on for different painting and weathering techniques.
I’ve built many MONOGRAM models in my days, they were the state of art back in the day
MOVING PARTS and ALL
yes, being a 10 12 year old we played with our models…
Never built this particular kit
YOU DO A GREAT JOB WITH YOUR BUILDS, made it look good…
Thanks for doing this review and build…

This is not a Revell kit, it’s an old Monogram kit from 1963 molding, Revell just reboxed it over the years.
Revell used to be the go to kits, then Monogram, Today that has changed big time. I just came back into hobby, new subscriber after a really long sabbatical now retired its a new universe for sure. I had a huge stash so I have tons of paint mules. On the quick builds that didn't workout we'd stick in some Blackcat fireworks and light them off and toss.. One kit that was really outstanding was I believe a Monogram P 51 D. About 1/32 or 1/24. Completely clear mounted on a stand with controls that switched propeller on, landing gears up and would drop 500 pound bond on the wings I wore it out. So I'm looking forward to your building to bring me up to.speed. Cheers till the next video.
Increible kit !! Well done!!
Great job! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Nice work, like it. It is the Monogram kit, noticed whilst watching.
Mine was a glue ball lol then again all of mine were haha
There's so many great manufacturers in the UK in 2024 that I'm quietly confident that I will never have to endure a Revell or Monogram kit. If I'm honest I don't think that I have ever seen a Monogram kit. I assume that they don't trade in the UK? 😊❤😊
I have 1964 Revell P-40 not much parts, but I was need to put alot of Tamiya puty and sanding it.
Prehaps model was finished and looking not bad.
It turned out really well! If I ever want to build a corsair, I’ll not go with the Revell kit, though.
Does this guy ever reply to his posts?
Yes I do I try my best to get to everyone. But it's hard to reply to all of them. One of my videos just got 2 million views. So I'm makeing my way through them. Model on and I'll try to get to them as much as possible.
Is this the old Monogram kit, re-boxed?
Yes it is. The original tooling dates back to 1963.
I very new to modeling, this was the third kit I’ve tried to build and gave up when I got to the wings, what’s weird is I built the level 5 Revell F-22 Raptor and the Hasegawa Apache pretty easily. Granted it took me a while they both came out great. I haven’t painted them yet though. Any tips for that?
Hey Paul! Well well what's cool about my channel is that you can watch my progression as a modeler! Watch my videos from the p38-my latest build and see the progression. I'm sure you'll find a bunch of tips to help you. I also just started to podcast. It's called the model dude podcast. There's tips and tricks on there as well and that's on the go. But always feel free to comment on any video and I'll do my best to answer!
Don't worry about the corsair. I threw my third one in the bin lol. Try the tamiya corsair.
@@scaleresurrectionmodeler7379 I’ll try that one next time, thanks 👍
Built this in 2020. Absolutely hated it. Somehow I finished it after failing the first one.
just getting back into scale models i have done one as an adult and that was 10 years ago.. this exact kit is going to be my first and i will be starting it this week.. it was actually a Christmas present from my grand daughters.. would you recommend painting the small parts before installation.. such as the landing gear and such? thankyou Bill from NH
It's a 60s kit that's. Designed for kids with the moving parts. It's not revell from the last 10/15 years. I don't know anyone who rebuilt this into something good. It's a mess. Very toy like with next to no detail.
I kit bashed mine with a Hasegawa kit, came out great.
The instructions for attaching the wings are incorrect. It shows the hinge position upside down. I found an old instruction sheet that verifies this. I also made a short video that shows the correct positioning
