I have a now 21 year old Weber Platinum and just purchased some replacement parts including a new regulator, igniter and the rails that hold the grease pan. I thought maybe it was time to buy a new one but the technical people at Weber talked me through how to deal with my problems. The three Weber people I spoke to were fantastic and knowledgeable and ended up saving me a lot of money. I was also pleasantly surprised how cheap the new parts were. If the time comes that I need a new BBQ it will definitely be a Weber. Oddly enough when I first bought it 21 years ago I was shocked at how expensive I thought it was but I was comparing it to the price of all the junk out there. In the long term the Weber is a lot cheaper. I love my Weber.

Five years? I’ve had mine 25. Finally had t replace the burners. Grates and bars, igniter and regulator about 8 years. Best investment is a good cover.

I was kind of hoping to see how to change out those tables that stick out and see how much they cost.

    Great video.
I just refurbished a Genesis Silver C with a side burner that I've had for 17 years. I bought it used. So God only knows how old it really is. I've replaced the flavorizer bars and grates over the years. This is the 1st year I'm replacing the burners, igniter, hose and regulator. I love the grill. I use it year-round in the northeast. I grill in the winter and the summer. Unless the frame of the grill is physically damage, I will never get rid of it. I'd rather replace every part. I refuse to buy a new Weber. They feel flimsy to me, compared to the old Webers.

I just got one a few weeks ago, was getting thrown out because one burner didn't work. A bit of TLC and clean the gas tube and all is good with it. Oh a new regulator and ignitor £20 all in!

We own Genesis Silver C with a side burner for nearly 17 years; Florida weather is tough on a grill and seems to be harsher on my truck. I just started searching to refurbish our grill. Last Thursday, I finally got a hold of replacement caster wheels [surprisingly free from Ace Hardware - another customer didn't want them and they were too old to sell, but perfect for me] bigger and better than original set. I installed them on the bottom of the caster frame, but it was tough due to years corrosion. Although we have covered it for all the years, the humidity can wreak havoc! The new caster wheels are great; however, it is time to give it a good restoration. For example the handle snapped off years ago due to bad weather knocking it over onto the ground. I need to buy a new handle, new igniter and gas line and I would like a new paint job, but more importantly I want to ensure that it is safe. I grilled steaks last weekend and they were delicious. I did not smell any gas leaks and the burners ignited on either the 2nd or 3rd push of the igniter.

I also finally replaced the burners and the igniter in my 17 yo Genesis Silver yesterday. Gave the grill a good overall cleaning while I was at it too. Start to finish took me about an hour and a half and now my baby works like new! Gotta love my Weber!

You did a great job showing us what needed to be replaced and the cost. I would have shown a before picture for the public to see just how bad it looked. This might help people make better decisions.

I’ve had this exact grill for 21 years and have only changed the flavor bars to stainless. The igniter still works even though I bought a new one two weeks ago in anticipation. If you keep this thing cleaned and covered I think it may last forever. Sometimes I wish I had two to increase my grill space.

I just bought a 2005 Genesis Silver C for $55, burners and flavorizer bars are fine. I bought the two warming racks, stainless steel cooking grates, and a new King Kong cover, and all in I’m at $235 and it’s like a brand new grill. Not a bit of rust on it, almost no fading anywhere. It will last another 17 years I’m sure. Keep it covered.

Thanks, this video has me thinking I should just restore my 17 year old Silver B. I grill at least once or twice a week all year-round and tend to put off maintenance, so when I do get around to it, it's an all day thing. I think I'll save some time this spring and just buy new grills and flavorizer bars.

my Weber spirit is ~5yrs old.. porcelain lit has a rust spot and base is rusting.. I'd rather have that old genesis honestly
BUT I would way rather have my 5~yr old Spirit E-210 than the new super flimsy looking spirit II.
I'm debating searching for a decent old model to refurb and get rid of the spirit E210 I have.

What's the part number for the upper basket? Also, it seems it has two locations you can insert. Can you have two baskets installed?

Looks like you put in new bottom drawer glides. How did you remove the rusty screws? Great cleaning job.

Question.. I have a Weber summit gold and everything was working okay until tonight.. everything starts up fine but the first two burners, of the temp control
Knobs are switched from high to low, the burners lose the flame and go off? The other four burners don’t have this problem but the first two, only work while set on high. The electrode is lose with the collector box being open on top. Could this be the issue? Or is it a propane air flow issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Have a 200? Genesis Silver B with two side tables but a center mounted thermometer. The bottom tray is rusted out due to being caught in Sandy. Any way to get a replacement for that bottom tray (not grating). If grating is only thing available, I will take it.

How do you prop up the lift up plastic table? Is their a pin or something?

    • @AbyssGP

Richie Sun lift it up and slide to the side

    • @jameseichinger7262
      @jameseichinger7262 2 года назад +1

You pull it out and then slide it to the side into a catch. When you want to fold it up, you life it slightly up slide it in the opposite direction and it collapses.
