Very strong lady. I don’t think it had hit her at that point that her darling husband had passed, you can tell when someone’s in shock, I was the same after my mum passed very suddenly last January, paramedics arrived quite literally 2 minutes or so before she took her last breath. After my initial distress, where they worked on her for half an hour (beeping and that tocking of the CPR machine still triggers me), I just started talking normally, making cups of tea, laughing, joking. It was like an alternate universe, I kept thinking mum was just in hospital and she’d be home soon. Took me best part of a year to stop calling out to her asking if she wanted a cup of tea, I’m sure this lovely lady will continue to do the same for her John. Bless her. So terribly sorry for your loss. Rest peacefully John x

@@traceyclarke5475 Oh darling 😢 I’m so terribly sorry, what an awfully traumatic experience for you to go through.
As stupid as it sounds.. I often wondered if Mum held on for those 120 seconds for the paramedics as she knew I would struggle giving her CPR, as I’m disabled, & I’d have had to get her off of the bed and somehow kneel on the floor and I’m not sure how I would’ve done it. I’d have absolutely given it my best shot, but I often wondered if mum held on for me.
Have you spoken to anyone Tracey? Are you based in the UK?
I wish I could express to people how traumatic it is to lose someone so suddenly. It’s been over 2 years and I still feel very numb and still get very emotional. All we can do is take each day Tracey. Sending you big cuddles and so much love, I’m so sorry for your loss, I truly am xx

@@LauraBidingCitizen hi. I am yes in the uk. My mum was disabled she was bed ridden with MS So she was in bed while I was doing CPR. I do have a counsellor who I speak to but my friends n work friends have been so supportive how your life can change in a split second I was her career as well n spent every day with her for hours. To suddenly nothing. I miss her terribly and angry she left me but I know that’s all part of the grieving process. I finally scattered her ages 3 months ago. I would do anything to have her back. 😢

@@LauraBidingCitizen I’m sorry for your loss to. Been just under 2 years and it still doesn’t feel like she’s gone she made me promise to keep her favourite paintings n 2 items of jewellery which I have saddens me that I wish I could tell mum I have kept them as that was all she was worried about if I could have just 5 mins with her I’d tell her I have hung the pictures up and she can rest in piece xxx

If this is actually how EMS crews across the UK handle dead-on-arrival calls consistently, I truly admire the approach. The US has attempted, in its standard fragmented way, to integrate care of family into these types of cases, but the British crews seem to really have it down pat. Good on you all.

Live close to your parents, be there to look after them even if they tell you not to and society tells you to put yourself first. Look after your parents like they looked after you when you were small and vulnerable.

no, don't do it. only if you want to. these generalized things as if all parents should be liked and respected just because they are parencs no matter how bad they are to you as child , speaks for itself.

After a heart problem occurring in the surgery, my doctor dialled 999 for an ambulance at 10.30am at 6 in the evening I had to phone my ex wife to take me to A&E as no ambulance had shown up and the surgery was closing.
I was operated on two days later and told I could have died at any moment.
